It’s been a couple of days since having my pedi done here, so I could give the most objective review possible. Seen this place countless times upon driving to and from the gym. Had been looking for a new pedi place as a backup when my main nail spot is busy. I actually went to a different nail salon before ending up here because they were of course busy on a Saturday afternoon with a 30 minute wait. I almost decided to postpone the pedi until the weekday, but I had a wedding to attend this particular evening and it was rather warm this December day, so I REALLY needed to get a pedi! On a whim, I whipped in and parked to see the place empty! Of course all kind of red flags raised for me on this scene. I was greeted warmly so I asked for the pricing for a pedi. I was told $ 23, which is actually more than I pay at my regular spots, but I was on a time crunch… I asked what the $ 23 pedi included. At first, the lady replied everything. What a loaded answer! Of course, I asked what everything meant. The lady understood English well, she was able to tell me it included the cut down, callus remover, hot towel, and sea salt scrub. Decided to take a chance and stay. The place looked pretty clean and spacious and bright. I was a little thrown to see that some polishes cost more. They have a special rack of Opi polishes that supposedly last longer… yeah whatever. I thought at first all the Opi polishes cost more, but that was not the case. They had some Opi and China Glaze polishes with some other less known brands. A good selection, but I was struggling to pick one because I was trying to find a polish to compliment my recent manicure. At least the people didn’t rush me to get a polish selected, which I appreciated. I finally settled on a shade and went towards the back for my pedi. There are four spa chairs and 2 little girl princess chairs on the other side of the room. I totally forget to put on the massager and wasn’t reminded to put it on in my haste. I kind of wanted to stay alert to watch my pedicure because my pedicurist didn’t know much English, but she was okay. A little rough when she was cutting my nails down, buy she filed, scrubbed, and colored my nails very nicely. I didn’t expect the hot towel service to only be laid on top of my feet(I’m use to the towels being wrapped AROUND my feet, but it still felt good. What I really liked is that they had a nice nail dryer for the feet. In six minutes, my nails were really bright and shiny-almost as if I had shellac nail polish! Came out really nice. Nevertheless, my attempt to put on high heels 2 hours later landed me with smeared polish because they weren’t completely dry. Should have went with my first mind and wore flats that would left my toes exposed and without straps to tackle. I can’t fault that on the salon, but I state it so you want be fooled that your dry looking nails may not be dry completely and you should be careful. If I’m in a time crunch again and need a pedi in a pinch, I would stop by again, but I have other salons that are less expensive and where I receive more services for my money. Secondly, I didn’t like that one of the manicurist was steady on the phone sitting at the front of the shop. I think that is very unprofessional, especially when you don’t greet a potential customer. Plus, she could have tried to build clientele by helping me pick a color since she wasn’t doing anything. Lastly, they really need some background music or a TV on. It was eerily quiet in the shop. I know most people have their own phones and music, but I try not to be on my phone when I’m receiving services, so all I heard was white noise. I would have been happy to hear some crickets at one point. A place with potential, but needs to consider that they have competition and have to be make themselves competitive and relative to gain and keep clientele.

I don’t like trying new nail places without reviews but I was in the area and definitely needed my claws done so I decided to take one for the Unilocal team and try it out. The salon seemed pretty clean, they had adorable little girl pedicure chairs shaped like butterflies. I got a regular fill for twenty dollars which is a really good price. The girl talked on her cellphone while she did my nails which didn’t bother me too much since I’m not a big chatter but I know that annoys a lot of people. The final result: it’s an ok nail job, not great, but ok. I don’t know if I’ll become a regular here but for that once in a while fix I would return.
