Waffle House

Must admit, always wanted to try a Waffle House and was actually surprised. Pretty darn decent for breakfast. Will recommend if you’re around the airport and want a diner style experience with classic diner breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, crispy bacon, cinnamon toast cooked on a flat top. Bring a sweater though. It’s cold in there.

I’m not a breakfast person but this place is good my husband likes it he had eggs over easy, grits, bacon sausage & pancakes I had waffles with egg whites with no meat because only pork is served

It had been years since I visited a Waffle House, I’m talking 8 – 10 years. But I was really craving a big messy breakfast. This location was the closest to me, and I really did not even know it was here until I searched Waffle House on Unilocal.I had the All Star Special and it was pretty good. The food did not disappoint. What did disappoint was the dirty floors, the small space, and the lack of organization in finding seats for waiting people. I also encountered two very rude customers here that blocked my turn in sitting, but I won’t blame Waffle House for that.
I think everyone was ordering the waffles, because mine didn’t come until halfway through the rest of my meal. I had the hash-​browns, covered and smothered. They were the best thing there. My over medium eggs were cooked correctly. Everything was good except for the delays in getting my waffle, getting coffee refills, the dirty environment, and the disorganized seating arrangements. All-​in-​all, it was an A-​OK experience.

I have always wanted to visit the Waffle House. I got a chance to and was not disappointed. I am planning another visit soon. I liked everything about this place. Service great. The food was great. This may soon be my new regular spot.

Delicious! For some reason this was the best waffle house ive been to, came to Houston for a week to visit my buddy and this was the first place we stopped at to eat after I got out of the airport, everything tasted great, great atmosphere and food, the beautiful young waitress serving us really made it great too

My first visit to this location the restaurant was fairly empty at 8 PM on this Thursday night so I had my choice of seats. I chose the corner table facing the breakfast bar and front door knowing that Waffle House attracts people from all walks of life and can be quite entertaining. Well I really didn’t come here for a show since I had just checked into my hotel and had already returned my rental car this was one of about (3) restaurant choices within walking distance and was going to be my first meal of the day. The employees were enjoying some downtime but my server immediately approached my table with a warm greeting and took my drink order. After looking over the plastics coated menu for several minutes i placed my order, Ham and cheese omelette with a side of country ham after reassuring my server I didn’t want hash-​browns, grits or toast she placed my order with the short order cook who appeared to be a seasoned veteran of the flat top. My breakfast dinner arrived after only a few minutes the omelette was somewhat fluffy filled with cubed ham and processed cheese with a side of what Waffle House refers to as «city ham» sliced as thin a possible, when I reminded my server that I had ordered «country ham» she told me she would talk to the «chef». It wasn’t a deal breaker so I started enjoying my freshly cracked egg omelette she promptly returned to tell me the «chef» said that was the «country ham» they had today I started to ask for an order of «city ham» to make my point but I figured that would be pointless. Nothing horrible here just be sure to be clear when ordering, upon bringing my check she also brought me a cup of coffee to go without being asked I still wonder which customer didn’t get theirs. I would return knowing this is pretty typical for this chain of over 2000 locations.

So I said I wouldn’t go back but I did. And good lord no, never again. My son went to use the restroom and it smelled like weed smoke (had to be an employee), told the manager and she was like, «so.you think it was an employee?..» as if it wasn’t possible. Then there’s this chick doing everything under the sun around the restaurant then goes to use her bare hands to make waffles (picking them up to put on plates). I had to request that she put on gloves and remake my waffles. Bacon came out like 20 mins after the rest of my food. It’s still dirty and it’s a shame because it’s in a good location. New manager now but I don’t quite know if the manager is the problem, as the previous one seemed to be doing an ok job. Must be the owner, I really don’t know, but I’m not returning. I want to live. And if I wanted to eat in filth, I would go eat at the zoo near the animals.

Did not expect much since my coworkers and I came here at 2 in the morning. We were hungry and just wanted food.
One of the coworkers and I both ordered steak and eggs plate. A short while afterwards, our waitress told us there was only one left. My coworker changed his order to the sirloin steak dinner since it was bigger and let me have the regular one. Right afterwards, she came back and said the last one got taken as well. UGHHHHHH! So annoyed by that but whatever.
The food wasn’t amazing but it was above average. It was a lot of food and was fairly cheap.

We waited 25 minutes after we got our menus and never even was asked about drinks or received water. There were only 4 other tables. We left and hit up Denny’s instead.

We had missed our connection thru IAH and had to stay near by at the Sleep Inn before flying out on the first flight in the AM. My group of 4 was starved and we walked to the Waffle House.
By no means were we expecting Top Notch service at 11 pm on a Sunday but we sure received it. When we first walked it the entire restaurant was filled with a boy’s soccer team. There was one table that was not bused yet and a small group of the boys gave up their table for us and they ate at the counter.
Our server was Mels (although her worn out name tag said Vels). She along with the un-​named cook made my evening. Mels let us know right away that it would be awhile for us to get our food because of the team. We were in no hurry so she got us our drinks and wait for the cook to catch up on the orders. The cook was more like an Iron Chef and he blazed thru those orders. I was truly impressed.
There was another waiter there (I think Mels called him Steve) but he was pretty much useless and didn’t do anything to help. In fact after the team cleared out and some intoxicated people came in, this waiter kicked tehmout for being intoxicated even though they did nothing but having the munchies.
Eggs good, biscuits and gravy good, bacon good, sausage good, hashbrowns good, steak decent but cooked well.
If I ever go back to this Waffle House, I can only hope that Mels and the same cook are there.

I never have a problem with the food it’s my favorite place to go have some food any time of the day! But lord knows I drag in going because it’s always dirty !!! This is the third time their is flys at the table we eat today 4÷11÷15 around 2pm I went to go eat with my boyfriend and we sat in the last table before the restroom and all of the sudden their was a bunch of bugs from the trash flying around and I asked if we could be moved and they said yes that’s fine and I said theirs a lot of flys around here and they said yeah we know it’s because a pipe leak and it’s waiting to get fixed ! Like wouldn’t you had fix that the same day?

Maybe it’s because I arrived very late, very hungry and very tired but these guys really took care of me. I had no flight and no luggage. I had already traversed most of the east coast trying to get home and my mind was a total blank. I walked in here and Angel could see I was just not having a good day. She helped me speak the words I needed to get my order and then rushed it. It was the best thing to happen to me that day. I can’t thank her enough.

Go here all the time. Depends on what time of day you go on what service you get. At night the tables are usually dirty while the waitresses sit right behind the counter doing nothing but if you go during the day its usually fine. Food is always good though.

Always a great a experience here.
Very friendly and courteous staff… always greeted within the first few steps inside the door. no matter how busy they are… decent food. almost always get breakfast but, burger is surprisingly good… bring a sweater… this place is always cold…

Worst Waffle House Ever.
Nobody greeted me or asked to be seated.
I’ve gone to this Waffle House various times and there is always a problem.
The waitress act like they don’t even want to be there. They are constantly arguing with other coworkers as in who gets what table. They are constantly in the back laughing or on their phones.
My son was pretty upset when we left. But I had already been waiting for 25 minutes for a table to be cleaned. While 3 were open but dirty.
They need a new manager because obviously the one right now doesn’t know how to do her job.

Its below average. Cheap and mediocre food. The waffle was ok. Im surprised that a whole restaurant chain spawned from a mediocre waffle. Just went there because I missed my flight and stayed at the hotel nearby.

I had a scrambled egg and cheese sandwich on Texas toast with mushrooms and onions. I’ve had this at many different Waffle Houses but by far this location was the best. And service was excellent. If I ever stop through Humble again while in Houston… I’ll be back.

So I have been wanting to update my review of this particular Waffle House. First, I stay frequently at the HIX just down the street so this WH is a favorite for 24-​hours, good food and a nice atmosphere… not at all fancy which is perhaps why I like it so much.
During my last visit, a couple days ago, it was a surprise to see that the festive singing was replaced by feuding between the cook (Mr. Arthur) and the other server… all picking/​squabbling with the most pleasant server that I have seen in a while… Taylor.
Apparently they must have been at this for some time… the air was thick with tension.
I ordered my usual, cheese eggs, hash brown and country ham. You can have your hashbrowns many ways… covered, smothered, scattered… I guess it depends upon your needs at the moment… I prefer just scattered, none of the extra stuff, thank you.
Cheese eggs are to die for. They are exactly what the name implies… scrambled eggs and cheese… they are terrific!!!
The country ham is not your typical slice of ham… this baby is a thick slice, more like a ham steak, and a large as the plate… be hungry or share, there is a lot of ham.
All said and done, this Waffle House usually had a fun atmosphere where the servers and the cook are all singing songs, and having a good time. And the food… always good when I come there, and the price is agreeable!!!
Regardless that this is a corporate chain/​franchise restaurant… these are your friends and neighbors cooking and serving your meal. Give them your support!!!

Nice get away spot to relax and watch people cook your food. Besides that… nothing really to report here.
The place is clean… yet, once you leave, you will not feel that way because that open cooking area will have you smelling like every dish prepared there for the last week. The prices varies at the place, so it was cool to see a value menu portion of the menu, but all in all, this is greasy spoon dining!
I do love that you can watch them cook your food, thus, in theory, lessening the chances of them purposely spiting your food by some gross manner.
Plenty of space to converse with your neighbor, or whomever, so this is a good place to chat.
All in all, if you want a decent variety menu, at decent pricing, and don’t mind smelling as if you bathe in lightly used greased once a month, then stop here for medium speed service and medium quality and taste food.

This is the second time I attempt to eat at this location. The first time I ate here. But this time I could not tAke the waiting. I was sitting down for over 10 minutes didn’t even get asked what I wanted to drink. So me and my sister left. And now we are eating at IHOP. While I was typing this they have us our drinks. :)
