The menudo is excellent! I have it almost every time I come here! They are so nice. The accommodate special requests with no problem.

We eat here at least once a week. The food is GREAT. The crispy beef tacos are the best. Especially on taco Tuesday when they are just .99. It is hard to decde what to eat because everything is excellent They are a very hard working young couple that care about’ their food and customer service. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry!

Drive by all the time. Finally stopped in. It really is a «diner». Great mix of Mexican and American favorites. I had the 4 taco plate with a drink for $ 5.49! Great tasting carne asada tacos! I’ll be back to try out more.

Great Mexican food at really good prices. They’ve got a little of everything on their menu including pancakes and burgers, not to mention all the Mexican dishes. Great service, great food, makes for happy bellies.

The food here is great. The counter people are really helpful in trying to offer choices on your selection. I told them I wanted a quick small meal and the gentleman offered up multiple choices that met my criteria. The tacos I ordered were wonderful and I will be returning here more often.

This place is legit. It’s a small mom’s & pop’s place. The husband and wife runs it. They are hard working people and the food is authentic. The chilli realano, crispy taco, enchaladas are my favorite. Also, the pizole is the best I have ever had.

Came here for breakfast because of the Unilocal reviews but it was disappointing. I ordered the chilaquiles and hash browns but it was not good. There are way better chilaquiles out there. It tasted like something you would get from a generic diner like Norms. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito which was NOT good either. It was dry and small and did not satisfy. Though I must say the prices are reasonable and portions are plenty. Not sure what the raving reviews are about or maybe I came on an off day?

There are lots of places that claim to make«Mexican» food, then you come across little gem’s like Carlito’s. Service: Friendly, super hospitable, and accommodating Food: Lighter flavors, but all fresh and delicious. You will NOT find loads of cheese covering mediocre food here. Value: Exceptional! Looking forward to trying out more of their menu. Items ordered: Cup of chili(requested avocado and sour cream in addition to the cheese and onions that come with it) Chilaquilles with green sauce and eggs overhard ½ order of French Toast

This is hands down the best Mexican food around. Everything is always cooked so well, especially there carnitas! The carnitas plate is delicious! Love the tacos on Taco Tuesday. Staff and service is always excellent. Prices are very reasonable. My boyfriend and I have been coming here regularly for over a year and enjoy the food and experience every time. Excellent job, highly recommended if you are looking for a good, authentic, home cooked Mexican food, which let’s be real. who isn’t!

Five star machaca for sure. Habanero spread was delicious smeared onto the fresh flour tortillas and complimented the eggs and meat.

Delicious! Cheap! Local! Great staff! Quick food! The fish tacos are awesome. I also had the Diablo shrimp plate. OMG. I’ve never had a hotter /sweeter shrimp. I’m gonna regret that tomorrow. I may wanna invest in a fire extinguisher for my bathroom.

Laid back comfortable and very inexpensive. Great service and pride in the food. I was also blown away by the quantity of food. I ate just half of a breakfast burrito with chorizo and Christmas sauce. My son had chicken and beef Chrissy tacos. He said excellent. The green avocado salsa was yum! Informal place. Great food. Highly recommend!

They had amazing customer service. The food was great. Just the customer service they provide is enough to come back again. My boyfriend can’t have cheese and they accidentally put it on his burrito and the service noticed right away and made sure to fix it. He was so nice about it too. I highly recommend this place.

I feel terribly disappointed by this place. It’s really close from where i live and i found it here on Unilocal and saw wonderful reviews, so i decided to give it a try. We ordered menudo, carne asada plate, kids chicken tenders and a kids hamburger. Nothing was good. That’s all I’m going to say. Maybe we came when the star chef wasn’t in the house, I don’t know! I give it 2 stars because the server girl was very nice. Not coming back.

Hands down, 100% Guarantee this is THEBESTBREAKFASTBURRITO in Southern California. Made exactly the right way, fresh made to order, and only $ 3.99!!! Taco Tuesday — BAM! Delicious dollar tacos, crunchy and soft. The Salsa — Wow! Best Red Salsa I have had, better than expensive restaurants. They also have habanero and verde, both very good, but I can’t get enough of the red salsa. Kids menu is awesome! My kids loved the quesadillas, as well as very tasty beans and rice. This place is an absolute gem and I probably eat here a few times a week.

Was pleasantly surprised by how great this place was. Had the shredded chicken and shredded beef crispy tacos and was impressed. The taco shells are freshly fried and the meat was high quality. Food took a bit longer than the usual taco shop but once I tasted the food, I understood why – better food takes longer to make. Inside the restaurant is clean and it’s a sit down style, pay after you eat type of restaurant. Server was nice and pleasant. Will go back and try other items and update my review.

More like 4.5 stars! After a long Saturday night, me and my wife woke up late and wanted some brunch! We were planning on going to huntington beach, so we were looking for a quick breakfast and found this place after doing our typical Unilocal search. The place was a pleasant surprise! Great, friendly service, cheap prices, easy parking, and yummy food. We got the bfast burrito and huevos rancheros and they were both delicious and filling. I would come back in a heartbeat!

I finally had a chance to try out Carlitos Diner. It’s a small old school diner which offers a varied menu. I was warmly welcomed & ordered a to-go order: (1) Burrito Ranchero Tender pieces of pork with rice & beans mixed in a delish verde sauce with a side of guacamole & sour cream. The burrito is smothered in the verde sauce. Sonny boy said the burrito was very tasty … I had a bite & it was yummy! (2) Shredded Beef Quesadilla A winner dish … Well seasoned beef with the cheese … scrumptious! (3) Mojarra Frita with Rice & Beans A whole tilapia fish deep fried … So good! Ask for some sauce(ie Diablo, al mojo, ranchero) on the side to add to your fish. (3) Al Pastor Torta Special My Torta served with mayo, avocado, tomato, lettuce, pickles & al pastor. My Torta was served with French fries & a drink. My Torta was not grilled/toasted … Tasted like they had microwaved the Torta. Plus, I didn’t care for the fries … Tasted like they were frozen. I really enjoyed the burrito ranchero & mojarra frita at Carlito’s. I believe you will have a better experience if you dine in the restaurant. I only wish they had a self serve salsa bar & include a bag of chips for pick up orders. Carlito’s serves tasty Mexican food with great service. I’m a fan … 4 Stars!

Thanks Unilocal for letting me know about this family owned eatery I would have never known about if it wasn’t for you! This is literally a mom & pop diner with mom, dad, and kids working here. Home cooked food loaded with flavor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served. This is a Mexican diner with entrée plates, seafood, burritos, tortas, tacos, etc, etc. It also has some non Mexican items such as sandwiches, chicken fried steak, meatloaf, fried chicken, etc, etc. It’s a tiny place but comfortable and the service was outstanding. Along with chips they have several salsas you can have. The green salsa is a must. It’s not just a standard salsa verde. It’s blended with avocado and has a spicy kick. It’s extremely addicting and we went thru two bowls of it. For my entrée I went with the steak picado which is steak chopped and cooked together with tomato, onion, and green peppers. Comes with corn or flour tortillas. Very tasty and the beef was extremely tender. It came with guacamole, sour cream, refried beans, and rice. Their guac which is made there is chunky and delicious. The rice has some peas & carrots mixed in and was very flavorful. Only thing I didn’t like was the beans. They were so watery it was pretty much impossible to eat with a fork. I ended up blending it up with my rice. For $ 9.95 I was so stuffed that I didn’t eat any dinner that night. My wife went with the al pastor quesadilla for $ 7.95. Came with guac and sour cream. This quesadilla was stuffed to the brim with flavor packed al pastor which is marinated pork. She loved her meal and shared a piece with me. It had two types of cheese and the pork had so much flavor. Al pastor isn’t listed on the menu. It’s my favorite taqueria meat so I was happy to hear they serve it here. If you’re in the mood for some cheap yet quality Mexican food served with a smile I highly recommend this place! The owner who talked to us at the end has tons of pride in his restaurant and said Unilocal word of mouth has been great for his business. When we went for lunch the place was packed with diners and had tons of take out orders going out the door.
