Fred Macias

We were referred by my husband’s new employer, since we were new to Orange County and needed to find a home immediately. Although Fred was a pleasant gentleman to work with, he showed us townhomes/​duplexes/​attached homes we specifically told him we didn’t want to look at. He also showed us more homes than not that were above our maximum budget.
Fred seemed to cave to the seller’s than push back and try to get the repair issues settled for us as buyers. After only a couple of months in the home, we are finding that the repair issues we kept asking to be addressed, are worse than we thought! It is causing us a whole lot more money to fix, than if Fred would have insisted on the sellers disclosing and correcting those concerns with a bonded & licensed contractor, as we had requested.
We have bought and sold 4 homes over the past 30 years, and this had to be the worst experience ever! If you are need a realtor who will be looking out for your best interests and go to bat for you on the hard but necessary issues, I would not recommend Fred.

I met Fred at an open house back in 2008. I had in my mind, «I don’t need a real estate agent, I’m only looking and they just want commission». Well, with Fred that statement could not be further from the truth. Fred is one of the most honest people I know. He was always available to show me houses while we were looking and has an exceptional knowledge of the market, especially in Huntington Beach. Fred was with us when we purchased our first home and will be with us when we decide to sell and purchase our second. I would refer Fred to anyone I know that is looking for a home. Not only does Fred act as your realtor, but he also becomes your friend. A very genuine person.

We had the pleasant surprise of meeting Fred when my family and I walked into an open house he was showing. We were interested in seeing homes in the area, but didn’t have an agent. He was very nice and offered to show us more homes the next day. He was extremely knowledgeable about the real estate market and even showed us a short sale home. During the next few days Fred showed us some great properties. Thanks to his professional persistence, we were able to close on our preferred property for less than the asking price. Fred handled the whole situation in the most professional manner. We have recommended him to our friends and will continue to do so. We are very grateful to Fred for helping us find the best home for our family.

I got refereed to Fred from a loan officer, and I had no real estate agent in mind so I figured why not. I was very glad I did! My wife and I clicked with Fred right away, he was very in tune and understanding of our needs and wants in a potential house. Even after we had an offer in on a short sale, he still spent time with us looking at other places in case the short sale didn’t go through. Fred was great to work with, very professional and always on time when we would go looking at houses.
Funny story: After about 6 months working with Fred (and in the middle of the long short sale process) we were looking at another house and chit chatting about the market, and what people were paying for similar houses, and I was telling him about some friends who had bought a house about a year earlier. Turns out Fred was their real estate agent, too! They had offered to recommend their agent to us, but we were already working with Fred so we declined their offer. Good thing we like Fred!
I also recommended Fred to my boss who bought a house earlier this year. You know you wouldn’t recommend ANYTHING to the boss unless you had the utmost confidence in them!
