Such a great vibe, you can tell when you walk in you are going to have a great time. The atmosphere is amazing. Drinks are perfect, bartenders are super interactive and fun. Johnny is so laid back and such a nice guy. And the pizza, oh the pizza by far wad the BEST pizza I have ever had. This was my first visit to Johnnys and I feel like I have been missing out! Perfect night out! Will be back and soon!

We came in on a groupon for whiskey tasting and we fell in love with this place. It’s divey for sure, but they keep it dark, fun décor, great music, and Schneider, our bartender, was super knowledgeable about all the whiskeys. We tried 10 different kinds and we’ll need to come back because they have so much more to try! The beer and pizza was also great. I’m so glad we found this place!

This place is definitely a signature HB spot! Great music, great bartenders, and if you want an old fashioned that will change your life, Melissa makes it perfect everytime!

Loved this place! Came in after dinner for a drink– there is a lot to see. Décor is amazing. Girl’s restroom is awesome. I love that instead of sports on the big screens that there was Willy Wonka & The Swiss Family Robinson movie– Classic! Will definitely come back. Drinks were good and cheap. Bartenders were very cool!

I have been a long time patron of Johnny’s. Having moved out of HB, it made it hard to continue to keep poking in and saying hi to Johnny & Bruno.
But I’m back! It’s good to live in HB again, let alone close to my favorite drinkin’ place in all of OC. But times have changed. The interior has had some minor tweaks and updates. They’re still the same, but now — there’s pizza. oh lord, the pizza. Grandma’s recipe, fresh Croatian ingredients, I’m blown away. It’s fantastic. The sauce is (to me) the most important part of a pizza. It’s the make or break. not acidic at all. And they use the right amount. it’s piping hot. Everything on it screams fresh. Cut to order. The crust is just the right amount of thickness and chewy/​crisp balance. There’s a variety of recommended pizzas with cool names (rancid albums anyone?), or build yer own. It doesn’t take long to get to you, which you should be having a drink while you wait anyway. Drinks? Huge whiskey menu; and a constantly growing solid beer menu. Want an Old fashioned? They take pride in ‘em here.
You cannot get a better, fresher pizza in Huntington, and I stand by that having tried just about every place in town. Don’t play yourself and go to some chipotle-​style-​made-​in-​front-​of-​you pizza spots. This is pizza with love and soul. Go forth and bask in its goodness.

This amazing bar has become like a second home to me over the past month. I travel for work so sometimes it is difficult to find places that are really awesome and welcoming. Well Johnny’s is that! Bruno and the Johnny’s staff welcomed an out of towner into their place and treated me like family I will be forever thankful. I have met so many amazing people here! Their whiskey selection is out of this world and the pizza the freaking pizza is to die for!!! Tips: go use the ladies room it is amazing, ask Bruno for a suggestion on whiskey his knowledge is astounding, tip well they deserve it, get the pizza with the Croatian bacon, and be friendly it is that kind of place! ;)

We had some time to kill on a Friday night while driving through Huntington on a Friday night. Unilocal directed us to Johnny’s… and I fell in love!
This is my kind of dive bar!-
–Hidden in the corner of a little shopping center
–Hard to find
–Super dark
–Awesome atmosphere– dirty trashy funky rock & roll artsy punky thrift shop kind of way
–Bartenders were great
–Drinks were great
All around great dive bar for the alternative, rock, punk, tattooed, hipster, pin-​up, rockabilly crowd… all types.

Great pizza! Great drinks! 120 whiskeys and 12 pizzas to choose from. Melissa and Bruno were helpful in our dinner and drink decisions.

A buddy showed me this place and I’ve always wanted to check it out. I noticed a sign outside that said they proudly serve veterans and law enforcement. I happened to talk to Bruno, one of the owners about it since I’m still active duty. His service was awesome, definitely one of the best bar service I’ve received. Also, the music selection was broad and so was the whiskey selection. Pretty awesome for a small local dive bar. I would be a regular if I still lived here in Orange County.

One of the best dive bars I’ve ever been to. This bar supports veterans and POWs so I’m very into their culture. All sorts of crowds show up to enjoy whatever they’re pouring, although they primarily pour whiskey. There’s free shuffleboard and there’s always something awesome on TV, whether it be Star Wars or Willy Wonka. I just think they underpour shots. Sundays they have cheap beer nights so check them out then.

This place used to be hardcore punk rock, now it is a shadow of its former self. The bartenders are rude douche bearded hipsters. They were trying so hard to be cool. It was nauseating. «Hey if I wear Chuck Taylors and grow a beard I’m punk rock right»?! Sad.
I went here last Saturday and everyone was wearing collared shirts. Not one sleeve or mohawk in the place. Johnny’s used to be unique. It is no longer.

A bar for the amateurs! Even the bartenders are amateurs! And that is always lamentable. I’m not talking about making a drink, as I ordered beer, I’m talking about them talking about — themselves! Shut up and make it about the patron, not you.
Bartended for a long time. No, not 3 years at Chilis. A long, long time.
Take a deep breath, bartenders and learn to converse, not talk at.

The people that are at the bar are engaging and friendly… we stopped in on the way to the Rose Theater…

It’s intimidating from the outside… but such an AWESOME vibe on the inside! So glad my friend brought me! Shuffleboard and pool tables, great drink selection at decent prices. I’ll definitely be back! :)

The first time I was here was for a Unilocal event years ago (Redneck Prom, yeehaw!), and most recently I stopped by to have a drink with a friend. Both times were a blast, and there’s much to recommend this place. First of all, the purposely divey atmosphere. This place isn’t that old but they’ve tried their damnedest to make it look like it’s been around for at least 50 years, with all kinds of crazy crap everywhere. I’ve been to plenty of old man bars in Long Beach and that is definitely the aesthetic they’re going for – I like it! Second of all, really nice, friendly bartenders. Third of all, they have Ron Jeremy Rum, yesssssss (it’s actually not very good but I love the fact that it exists). The patrons seemed to be chill and nice too for the most part – everyone was just there to get some drinks and have a good time. I definitely won’t mind coming back.

Found this place through Groupon and we were kind of hesitant to go in at first. I love dive bars but this place looked like it would not be inviting to newcomers. Wow… we were way wrong, we had the BEST service ever. My pineapple and vodka was on point! My hubby is a scotch guy and our waitress, Melissa introduced him to a few new ones. They play great music and animalz tv. So basically great drinks, great service, great entertainment.

Sucks, sucks, sucks. Can I write it again? Yes I can, it sucks. This place will suck the money from your wallet, while sucking any remnants of authenticity from your soul. It’s a fake punk bar, that offers jacked up beer prices, and all too obvious music choices. Oh golly, it’s so punk because they play John Cash!
Do not go here unless you want your spirit stripped from body, and you are willing to live the rest of your life without a soul.
That’s a guarantee.
