OPH, I never vary I”m a creature of habit, coffee, 49ers with tropical syrup, a side of delicious bacon for the table. Someone always gets a Dutch pancake and if strawberries are in season, a bowl with whipped cream, sooooo yum! I’m a fat, happy, camper. Give it a whirl boy or girl. Service is always prompt, polite, and precise. Get there early or you are gonna wait. Relax and enjoy.

Had breakfast this morning. What a treat — the food and service were exemplary despite one crusty old customer who complained about everything in the place(starting with«I requested ‘poured cream,’ not this stuff.» He even denigrated the server, who did a stellar job taking his guff and seeing that everything he and his wife got was eventually to their liking! She should be promoted for such professionalism!!!

I only ordered the 2×2 pancakes with eggs and the buttermilk pancakes were delicious. ^-^

The first thing you will notice upon walking over to the restaurant is a cozy warmth of a familial atmosphere. Everyone is very homily here and that’s a perfect way to start the day off! Opening the doors, you will be hit with the aroma of deliciously baked pancakes! I don’t know about you but I am a HUGE flour fan(pancakes, waffles, etc) They are known for their freshly-squeezed orange juice which taste amaze-balls! I come here often so I have tried several of their foods. I personally LOVE their mushroom omelette with Swiss cheese! I would also get the Strawberry Waffles(when strawberries are in season ONLY cuz I have tried eating it with frozen strawberries and it tasted BAD) Ironically, I usually don’t get the pancakes here because whenever I order my omelette, it comes with small three buttermilk pancakes and that does justice for me! But they do have a VARIETY of pancake options! Especially their specialty: the Dutch Baby is very popular too! It is really good and doesn’t even look like a pancake!

Glad I finally got to try this spot! The omelets were HUGE and light and fluffy– delicious! We also got pumpkin pancakes(my fav!) and silver dollar pancakes. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly, we will be back!

This place is amazing. If you haven’t eaten here yet, it’s a travesty. Their pancakes are ridiculous, and their egg dishes are pretty good. Most people could easily split one order, and I cannot recommend their hot chocolate more highly. If you need breakfast or brunch, please go here. The staff is super friendly and it’s cute. There might be a bit of a wait, especially on weekend mornings. Still, it’s worth it any day of the week.

The pancake orders are large, at least the one I ordered… buttermilk pancakes. I believe there were 5 or 6 large pancakes. They were fluffy and delicious. People told me that this was good but it really is. We also ordered a side of potato pancakes which were okay, and sausage links(yummy). I saw some of the other customer’s orders go by our table. The portions look generous. All of it looked yummy. Gotta try some other items on the menu next time.

I’ve heard many great things on The Original pancake house, so I had to try it! Let me start by saying this little joint is now one of my top 3 favorite breakfast places in Huntington Beach. The moment you pull up into the shopping center you can see people outside waiting to go in. We got there around 10 am and the wait time was 25 minutes. It wasent bad at all. The items ordered were the Dutch baby and the Irish omelette with banana pancakes. I was intrigued by the fluffy looking omelette, so I had to try it. The omelette was nice and warm filled with cheese and lots meat. The food was delicious and come in big portions. The staff was very helpful. Overall, I had a great experience and will be definitely be back for more. I recommend the Dutch baby. Its different than your ordinary pancakes.

This place is in a strip mall shopping area right next to CVS. I was looking for a free standing restaurant and got thrown off by the venue but it was really nice inside. I finally ordered the Dutch baby after hesitating the last few times I’ve been here because lemon on my pancakes just didn’t sound right. But man, was I missing out! It was so delicious. I also balked on ordering since it seemed so thin and didn’t think it could fill me up. Well, I didn’t even finish half and had to doggy bag the rest home. It’s thin but has thick layers all at the same time. You will have to try it to see. My server advised me to make a paste with the fresh lemons, butter and powdered sugar so I did. It was delicious! I will be reordering this next time! We also tried the corned beef hash which was topped with 2 over medium eggs. I liked it but there was something different about it that I can’t quite put my finger on. Otherwise, it was solid albeit a bit salty.

The hubs brought us here early this morning for breakfast. I had no idea there was an OPH in Huntington Beach. Of the three OPH locations I’ve visited, this is the most modern looking. The fence surrounding the patio seating area was fashioned out of large metal«spatulas» — cute. The food here is good. I ordered my usual 49’er flapjacks with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. The giant, thin 49’er pancakes were tasty but were a little different from what I’m used to at the Anaheim location. These were thicker, more doughy and less delicate. But everything else was on point. Oh! And unlike the Anaheim location, this place offers pumpkin pancakes all year round, yay! The service here however was meh. The hostess I encountered as soon as I walked in just stared at me for a couple of seconds. So I said«Hi, party of three please». My husband was right behind me with the kidlet, but when she only saw me, she scowled and asked«where’s the rest of your party?». Yes, I get that most places would like the whole party to be present before seating, but at least greet your guest with a smile, a good morning… something. So I point outside and say they’re right there, and she seats us. The other servers that waited on us were good, not great. No one we encountered made us feel like we were welcomed. I’d come back again for the food, but hope the next visit provides better customer service.

Great food and friendly service. There was a bit of a wait for seating(more half an hour than the promised twenty minutes), and a bit of a wait between ordering and getting our food. Still, everything is nicely priced and an excellent value. Portions are generous and certainly enough to share. The Sausage here is delicious, and the Bacon Pancakes full of just enough crispy bacon pieces. Iced Tea is served in a very large glass and perfectly brewed. Lots of seating inside and outside, and a good choice for a nice breakfast or lunch.

The first time I came here I was slightly disappointed because the eggs benedict wasn’t too impressive. However, I recently came back here again and my brunch was excellent! The fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious and tart– just the way I like it! I ordered the Dutch Baby which came with lemon, butter, and powdered sugar. The Dutch Baby itself was good enough to eat but definitely enhanced by the toppings. It was airy, fluffy, and flavorful. I also ordered a side of the hashbrowns(potato pancakes) which was a heaping rather than a single serving. One plate of them is more than enough for 2 – 3 people to share as a side dish. I loved that they were cooked to a crispy finish and seasoned well. My friend also ordered the seasonal special which was Danish cherry crepes. The crepes were good but had a little to much sour cherry filling in it. The only downside was that the wait for this place was 40 minutes but the service made up for it. I would definitely return for the Dutch Baby and hashbrowns!

I’ve been to many of the Original Pancake House locations. The HB location is one of my favorites! The most I’ve ever had to wait here is 20 min! So worth it! The service here is always stellar! Staff is always friendly with big smiles. I usually get a Dutch baby or a baked apple pancake(portion is so big I usually share it) Coffee is good, nothing extraordinary though. The bacon here is really really good! Crispy but not burnt! I always leave here stuffed and happy

Came here a few weekends back and trust the other Unilocalers, it does get packed. Luckily, there’s a starbucks in the same plaza so we hung out there for a bit and walked back to wait for our buzzer to call us. Let me say, the wait was well worth it. We ordered the Cornbeef hash, Potato Pancakes and a order of the Strawberry Waffle. I have to say, the Potato Pancakes is out of the world, its so unique and Delicious I couldn’t help but to eat every little crumb off of the dish. this is definitely a MUST here. As always,. Cornbeef hash is always a great dish to get and it was worth the calories. The Strawberry Waffles were nice and fluffy, but nothing special, it didnt blow my mind like the Potato pancakes. Come here early or wait for the rush to die down for a late brunch to beat the wait.

All these years, we’ve been going to the Redondo Beach Pancake House and never knew this one existed. I wanted to try it out and see the differences. First, this place seems much smaller, although there is patio seating, and you can bring your canine friend, as long as he/she is on the outside of the fence. The potato pancakes are just the same as Redondo and the hash is great also. The only difference to me seems like the staff are not very involved, and seem to be slower than the Redondo Beach Store. It seems to me that the staff of Redondo Beach had their act together and brought out exactly what you ordered and the condiments that go with it. Here, at many of the tables, there were missing utensils, lack of sugar and jelly, napkins, and the list goes on. I ended up having to get all these things myself after waiting a decent enough time for service. The wait time was about 30 minutes, not bad comparatively, but the service has a lot work needed. Fortunately, I had a coupon for $ 12.00 off, so that lessened the sting of bad service.

This is the time I dined at this location. I have been to the Anaheim location many times before. I ordered the same thing. The Dutch baby. The one here was not good. The bottom of the pancake was thick like it was not baked… like raw dough. My husband got the strawberries waffles and it was bland. It looked nice but has no flavor. Coffee was good here. Service was good. The wait was long. Don’t think I will be back to this location.

Ordered the Bacon Waffle and A cheese omelet. The Waffle was the most delicious waffle I have ever had. The salt and sweet combo is so good. The omelet is rich and delicious. The omelet has something with the eggs that makes it taste like pancakes. The inside of the restaurant is really nice. Super clean brand new. Love it. Coming back for sure:)

Best pancakes and omelettes! Very reasonable prices too! Every year I get a buy 1 get 1 coupon but this place is worth full price! I have to eat healthy so I pass on the delicious looking waffles and crepes and go for the omelettes. But good news, they are delicious! I go for the egg white option and get the veggies omelette. The pic doesn’t do the omelette justice when I say it is the biggest omelette that has ever been served to me! So fluffy, so flavorful, don’t know how they do it! Coffee is ok, certainly not their specialty. But it gets the job done and completes the breakfast meal. As if the giant omelette wasn’t enough, it comes with a stack of(and by stack I mean 3) pancakes. This is actually a meal in itself. For an extra buck or two you can get a pancake of your choice substituted. So I usually go for the buckwheat pancakes. If my mom is with me I get her the pancakes she likes which is usually the blueberry. So good! All in all, my favorite breakfast restaurant :-)

I don’t know… I mean, they’re pancakes: eggs, flour, and milk, for the most part. I grew up eating them. Not so much berry-topped or chocolate-laden, never red velveted or pumpkin-flavored, really; but certainly buttermilked and sourdoughed, and always butter-drenched and covered with lots and lots of maple syrup.(My pops put peanut butter on them!) Back then, my grandfather’s sourdough griddling was seriously superior, a hot-caked competitor in our family. My mother’s never quite measured up, always came in a distant second or third, dependent upon whether or not my father was in the game. This, then, is my «A-OK» point with the Original Pancake House. The Original Pancake House’s origins lie in Portland, Oregon; and, in 1953, the«original» Original Pancake House, with heavy applause and warm acceptance, first opened its doors to the public. However, there are now hundreds of Original Pancake Houses strategically located in the United States. They’re in at least 30 states, from one shining coast to the other. That’s a whole lot of pancakes! Good job, OPH! Pssssssst…(but I’ve had better.)
