I am very disappointed and will not be taking my puppy to the groomers here ever again. He has been going here since he was 9 weeks old. Yesterday he went for grooming and I got a call that the hair on the sides of his back legs were matted and they needed to shave him down. I told them to go ahead not realizing that they were going to take all of his hair off! I also asked them not to cut his eyelashes and they did. His eyelashes were long and black and I loved them. When I went to pick him up I guess my puppy had given her a hard time and she was kind of rude about the fact that he needed to be socialized. The funny part is that he goes out with other dogs everyday and even to day care. I am taking her advice and we signed up for puppy training, but that’s about the only positive from my experience here.

I thought I would try out a new place since it was a little cheaper and you can add on teeth brushing. After first not being able to find my appointment they did after about 10 min. Then they told me it would be 2 – 3 hours but they’d call when he was done. After 3.5 hours I decided to run by and see if they just forgot to call. Jaxon looked clean but could not wait to get out of there. Unfortunately he had not been groomed at all!!! Apparently the groomer had to run out unexpectedly but they never called me to let me know to pick up my pup nor that he couldn’t get cut today. Who knows how long he would have sat there caged up. Totally unprofessional which is crazy for a mega store. At least there was no charge for the bath.

This is the worst PetSmart I’ve ever been to. I was so excited when they were opening closer to my house and I’ve tried repeatedly to LIKE it here and it’s just AWFUL. The staff is rude and have zero customer service skills. I brought my dog in for a nail trim once and no one was in the grooming room. We waited for a good 10 minutes then opened the door to peek out and get someone’s attention and there were 3 employees standing together chatting away. When I said excuse me is anyone working in here they kept talking then one walked out the front door and the manager said to me that it was closed. It was 5:15pm and on the door it said open until 6pm. She told me the hours were wrong and I could go to another PetSmart. Awful. I said again the hours on The door say open til 6pm and it’s only 5:30 she then said the groomer just clocked out and left because no one was here. What the heck!!! Again she said I could go to another PetSmart! When I told her by the time I get there they’d be closed she could have cared less. I expressed my frustrations of running home from work to pick up my dog and make it before they closed and again she could have cared less. I asked her what she could do to keep me as a customer and she said I can give your dog a free milk bone at the register.
That is only one of the bad experienced I’ve had. This morning was my last attempt and again worst customer service EVER.
PetSmart you’ve lost me as a customer for life.

I absolutely love Chris! He grooms my dog adorably every time and seems to genuinely care about him. There was a very minor accident while my dog was here one time, and Chris as well as the management were absolutely wonderful in handling the situation and updating me, as well as giving my dog the best attention and care. I felt like they went above and beyond when other groomers and wouldn’t have. Everyone who works here is always friendly and helpful, and I will continue to come here and shop for my pets, as well as get my dog groomed. Definitely impressed :)

I have always taken my dogs to pet smart to get their nails cut for years. Normally I took my dogs to the Costa Mesa location but because I live in Huntington Beach and they recently opened the golden west store, it’s far more convenient. Today I took two of my dogs to get their nails trimmed. One dog was fine, while my other dog was not. They gave me back my dogs and I paid the charge and when I got home and looked at their nails, my dog Sadie was bleeding because they cut her nail way too short and on top of that left one of her nails uncut. I immediately took her back and addressed the problem with the female groomer who seemed to care less and just say it happens from time to time. After that I asked to speak with a manager. I don’t know the gentleman a name but he at least appeared empathetic and reimbursed me my money for her cut. They said she should be fine. Tonight my dogs nails started bleeding again and one appeared to be cracked. If the blood continues I will be taking her to the vet. I have to cover her foot and sanitize it to try and stop the bleeding. This experience has made me never want to go back, especially not for nail clipping. I’d expect them to take better care of my animal and be more cautious. In addition, I’d appreciate it if the groomers would notify us of their mistake instead of just staying quite and letting them bleed.

The Pet Trainer, Nicole Narita is AMAZING!!! We have a 9 month old pug, Yoda, who was 8 months and only lived with us for about 2 weeks when he started training. He was definitely a free spirited, hyper and one track mind kind of puppy. Nicole was patient, simple, and very caring with Yoda and needless to say she was able to get Yoda to learn basics within a matter of 3 classes. She truly cares about animals and always uplifting and reassuring. She even showed us how smart our little guy is and his possibilities for trick training. She really answers all questions and if she can’t figure them out she tries to research it and come back with answers. I definitely will be coming back for more advanced training with her and only her! PetSmart, you definitely have an asset with your company and I can’t stress enough how AMAZING she is.

I’ve been disappointed with the last two groomings. Last week they ran a special, 25% off haircut and bath. I called in and told them I wanted the special. they scheduled me for the following Monday.
I went in and told them I wanted a haircut and bath with top dog add on. The groomer argued with me and told me a haircut doesn’t come with a haircut and trim… Huh? She said it only came with a paw trim and sani trim.
When I picked up Loki he did not get a haircut, no sani cut, no dematting, no conditioner, no cologne, no bandana.
When I went to check out they told me the special ended on Friday and they couldn’t give me a discount.
Why did I even bring him here when I could’ve done a better job. I brought him here to get spoiled and they failed all around.

Super clean and Organized store. Came in here for some greenies and got a great deal. The best way to save money here is get a Petsmart account. I saved 10 dollars on greenies just for having one. The staff are very nice. They walk around and offer help if needed.

The warmth and sincerity of the staff is genuine, and I love that. There’s a little bit of everything, except possibly experience and knowledge. But they know the basics and are with good intentions, which matters the most.

I wish I would have left this review sooner to help many other customers know NOT to visit this petsmart. Unfortunately, it has been about 8 months or so since this incident, but it still haunts me enough to come back this many months later and write a review.
I usually always go to the Petsmart on Edinger. It is closer to my house and they have always done a fantastic job and they love my dog (Coal) there. I am constantly getting praised for what a sweetheart he is. And it’s true! 2 year olds stick there hands in his mouth and Coal just sits there. Other dogs? No problem, he is a social butterfly. However, this Goldenwest Petsmart tells me the exact opposite.
So anyway, I had to book an appointment for Coal at this petsmart because the Edinger one was full and he needed it ASAP. My boyfriend and I dropped Coal off to be groomed, explained what he usually gets done and I even showed her a photo on my phone to explain. She said she understood and the history was all in their system (what length shaver they used, etc). I thought this was so great! So I left Coal there and returned once I got a call 4 hours later.
To my utter SHOCK, the woman who groomed my dog started shaming me in the nicest way she possibly could. Saying things like, «My manager wanted me to send him home because he was being so vicious, but I wanted to finish the job», and «He is extremely sensitive, he didn’t like when I touched him, he snapped at me every time — that’s why this appointment took so long». I was horrified! I couldn’t believe my sweet dog would do this. He has never snapped at anyone, this dog is a cuddle monster. She even told me she «waived the special handling fee» for me, and normally they charge extra for mean dogs?! Again, shock. So after 10 minutes of her explaining to me what a terrible dog I have and basically telling me I need to tip her well, they brought Coal out from the back…
MY FLUFFY POMERANIAN HAD BEEN SHAVED. He was SHAVED BALD! I could not believe my eyes. I wanted to cry. I now understood why Coal might have acted this way. She took my double coated dog and shaved him down to his skin! Who would enjoy this?! I did not ask for her to shave my dog! I even showed her a photo. I was in awe. His coat has never been the same since then and it took months for it to grow back. It grew back unevenly and my puppy’s fur has never been as soft as it was before she mutilated him.
Long story short is DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. I would consider what she did to Coal some sort of abuse. Shaving a double coated dog is TERRIBLE. It makes their skin more sensitive, more affected by sunlight, and their temperature regulation gets thrown off. A Pomeranian’s coat is meant to keep them both cool in the summer and warm in the winter. SHOULDN’T A PROFESSIONAL KNOW THIS? I have never gone back here and never had a bad experience at the Edinger Petsmart. Just a warning for all of my fellow dog owners!

Workers are so helpful and friendly to both me and my puppy! :) I shop here for all my pet supply needs and have taken the puppy obedience class, as well as used the grooming salon for my goldendoodle. My pup loves all the attention he gets when we come here; the workers know him by name now when we walk into the store.
Sign up for a petperks account if you come often, and you’ll actually get some great savings! I get his collars and toys on such great discounts either from clearance sales or petperks savings. If I’m searching through the aisles for something, one of the employees always comes to offer to help me find what I’m looking for. I find the service here to be much better than what I’ve experienced at Petco or even the Petsmart location across from Bella Terra. Even though I live super close to a Petco, I drive the extra few miles to go to this Petsmart and I think it’s worth it!

Christian in grooming is amazing! he took great care with my Pekingese Mindy and even colored her tips in purple. He was familiar with the breed (which has tons of hair) so he did a classic Pekingese cut on her, tending to all of her matted hair, & made her look like a queen. I absolutely love the cut because when her hair started growing in, she looked even more fabulous. Mindy loved being the center of attention, and I loved her awesome groom job.

Today I had amazing service that is so rarely found in a large retail chains. I recently moved to the area and stopped in to gets bag of pet food. Unfortunately, this store did not stock what I needed. I was approached with a question of assistance as I passed down the fish tank isle by an employee named Victor. I told him they did not have my dog food. He promptly offered to check stock and when he confirmed they did not have it he offered to call a store 10 minutes away. He had them reserve it at the check stand in my name. I was not only impressed but happy. Great service from Victor. I will go back for sure.

I love PetSmart! Came in for dog collars/​tags and they have amazing sales all the time! Great quality products and a very clean store. Got KONG collars which are originally $ 14.99 for $ 5!!! Presidents’ Day sale! Um yes I’ll take every color
Monica is the operations manager and she is incredible! Very sweet and professional with her work and is willing to help with whatever you need. I saw her helping around in all departments and even helped me find which treats would be best for my babies. Overall great experience, keep it up guys!

I brought my dachshund in to this location and had such a wonderful experience here. The groomer Heidi helped me out and she did such a wonderful job on my baby. She handled my dog with such grace and kindness that I would for sure recommend Heidi to anyone who wants a high quality groom! She’s very knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions I had. :)

I’ve been waiting for this petsmArt to make a Unilocal so I can write about what a WONDERFUL experience we had. About a month ago, I made an appointment for my puppy to be groomed… my husband dropped him off at the appointment time and it turns out I had made an appointment with another petsmArt not knowing… no problem though they took Wilson right in!!! I wish I could remember the name of the man that helped us he was the best!!! He accommodated us and groomed Wilson! It was our first time having our pup groomed and it was out first time using petsmArt grooming service and they have won my service! Not only did I pick up Wilson and he looked fabulous but it was very affordable ($ 25 puppy package which includes bath, brushing, anal gland cleaning, nail trimming and ear cleaning. Plus we paid the extra $ 10 to have his teeth cleaned) but I was also given a ‘report card’ of how his visit went which was VERY nice. I very much appreciated that. Wilson is due for another grooming so I will be booking an appointment today!

So here’s a little story about a family who wanted to take there dog to the groomer. GREAT!!! Petsmart opened up closer to the house vs the one up by Bella Terra. We are excited, liked the service we received at the other Huntington Beach location. Called this morning Heidi answered and we were able to get our dog in today, actually within the half an hour. My boyfriend dropped him off (Sam) our maltipoo at 11:00 am, great told them that we wanted a full face and not shaved, GREAT! no problem. Heidi asks do you want us to brush his teeth, sure! A couple hours pass and I thought hmmm I better call again to ensure that they don’t shave him. Talked to Yazzie which was wonderful because she was the bather at the other HB Location, introduced myself to her she remembered me, I complimented her in her last two grooming’s she had done for Sam. She had told me that Sam had a little matting but it was nothing big and that was normal for the length of his fur. ok Great, I reiterated how I wanted his hair done and asked when he would be ready she said about 2:30 — 3:00pm perfect!
My boyfriend Rob goes to pick Sam up and they say that will be $ 80 dollars, we are like WHAT??? For what? Heidi tells us that they had to double brush him and clip his nails twice and they brushed Sam’s teeth, Rob says ummmm no, you didn’t disclose that you are upselling and I didn’t agree to it, I am paying $ 45 banter back and forth and then the manager comes up Monica and to make a long story short resolves the discrepancy and we pay $ 45 as expected. More banter back and forth but I won’t bore you with that. Go back to pick up Sam, they put him on the ground and he cries??? Really? why? Heidi mentions that he had a lot of matting on his feet so I had to double brush them… So did you man handle my dog? Well we pick up Sam and are on our way home get home put Sam down to walk, he is crying and limping big time. Well we know that he has to go to the bathroom he has been in the groomer for 4 hours so let him walk about another 25 feet he does his business and then we go in the house and his limp and cry is stronger and stronger. Rob calls back and tells Monica and all she can do is apologize for Heidi and her rudeness. Our bigger problem is that Sam will not walk on his own and is Unilocaling in pain.
Monica the manager tells us that she will do anything to make it right, ok great so because we aren’t sure that his paw isn’t broken because he won’t walk on it, we insist that we want him taken to the Vet. She obliges and said that she will do anything to make it right but keep it at a store level. NOT the case, we called corporate and will not stop until something is done about the Salon Manager Heidi!
We get an appt to go to the VET and take Sam there, they did there routine exams and x-​rays. It appeared he suffered soft tissue damage which is most likely from roughhousing him. Sam was given a shot and pain meds and we were sent on our way
Moral of the story is! Do not take him to Petsmart in the S Huntington Beach location and DO NOT let Heidi Olsen the Salon Manager tend to your dog as your dog may be harmed as well.
Sam is resting at home now and hopefully should be ok with in the week.
