Haven’t been to Wahoos in years and this was better than I remember. Fast service and friendly staff. An easy place to bring the kids

From taking our order to bringing our food out almost faster than we could find a seat the staff was fabulous! Irving went out of his way to help us with anything we needed and cleaned up our plates after we ate! Awesome job!

Really great people taking your order and serving your food! The fish tacos from Wahoos always meets my expectations. Its a great location, next to the pier and on main street with plenty attractions.

I learned a valuable lesson today… have an open mind! I walk by this Wahoos alllll the time and have struggled on Main St trying to find clean food. I never even considered Wahoos… not sure why. Tonight, my group was out on Main and the 3 restaurants we went to all had 30 – 45 minute waits. We were STARVING and just couldn’t wait. We finally decided to go to Wahoos as if we were settling buuuuut we were all so pleasantly surprised. The ladies working were so nice and eager to help us, and checked on us after we got our food. My meal was delicious, fresh and healthy! I was so hungry that I didn’t take a picture(sorry lol) but I had the fish bowl with brown rice. They gave me two large prices of white fish and a very generous serving of brown rice and black beans. It was so good. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food. It was so cheap to! I needed this to happened tonight, and I’m so glad that my eyes are now open! I’ll be back :)

Good place to stop in for lunch with the kids. Quick, delicious food and reasonable prices. I always get the outer reef with the wahoos fish and I never leave disappointed or hungry. We also ordered the quesadilla for the kids which was good sized and the wahoos salad. If you want to combine meats, be ready to pay extra(even though quantity is the same). Overall, a great place to stop for lunch or a quick bite

They really take care to make sure the food is just what you wanted. Great service and fresh ingredients with some healthy options. A bit pricey for quick serve but the portions are huge and I always leave totally satisfied. Always clean and pleasant to be in

Consistent and good. This place is a staple of my weekly lunch routine. I always get the wild caught salmon which at a certain reasonable price beats out many other more expedite salmon dishes you can get in downtown HB.

Wahoo’s Fish Tacos will forever live in SoCal infamy. I have been a Wahoo’s fan since junior high and I must admit although my palate have completely changed since then, places like In N Out, Baja Fresh and Wahoo’s will take my back to the days when the things that mattered were surfing, skateboarding and summer vacation. Oh yeah, and girls. Considering the amount of time that has passed since then not much, if anything, has changed at HB’s Wahoo’s including the age of the average client(still in the 15 – 22 demographic, but in a fun way). Stickers cover the walls, extreme sports is the theme and the prices are quite reasonable in my opinion. The service is fast casual and the atmosphere is hardcore casual, as it should be. I usually get 2 or 3 skinny cajun fish tacos that come wrapped in lettuce rather than the caloric neutron bomb of a tortilla. Blackened Wahoo is served with a healthy amount of pico de gallo, shredded cheese, cilantro sauce and a lime wedge flanks your plate as a finishing agent. Served with a beer, you have SoCal summer on a plate plus at about three dollars and 100 calories a pop you can eat them in your boardies or bikini. You just cannot beat it. Wahoo’s has me looking like Siskel and Ebert with both thumbs up.

I have been eating at this and many other Whaoo’s for oh let’s just say a very long time. Last night my daughter and I went in for dinner and it was bad on so many levels I am not sure where to begin. Well I guess the beginning would be a great starting point. We place our order — me tofu taco, white rice and a Samuel Adams, Buttercup gets a tofu bowl brown rice and Cajun beans. we get an order of chips and salsa to munch on while we wait. We order the pico salsa and they brought something else entirely and the chips were stale, meh whatever our food should be out soon and we don’t really need the chips. We request the pico when our food is brought out and she promptly brings it. Yay for good service there. However, both salsa’s tasted tangy like they had been left out too long. I take a bite of my taco and the tofu seems really squishy but I figure they used soft not firm tofu for whatever reason at this location. About a 2 minutes into our meal my daughter gags on her food, she says the tofu doesn’t taste right. I take a small bit of the tofu with out salsa cabbage etc. and yes the tofu was totally bad. I take it up to the counter they offer to remake the food, but there is a really bad taste in our mouths for their tofu, so I ask for just rice and beans. They bring out the food with a casual apology. I was a little shocked that they didn’t take spoiled food more seriously food. Additionally in hind site since most everything we had was bad I wonder if they had problems with their cooler either way bad food is bad. Anyway I wish they had been a little more apologetic about the bad food. 2 returned meals should have warranted a managers attention. oh well, I will go again some day and update the review if warranted.

This is a quick and inexpensive place to eat across the street from the pier. We did the bike ride from Huntington Pier to Newport Pier and stopped here for some lunch. There’s a place you can lock up your bike right under the pier– just go up the steps and head straight back on the street. I love their Mahi and Shrimp Tacos with a side of their buttery rice topped a large spoon worth of tomato salsa-it’s really good ask for a side more of it when you order. They also have on the menu a veggie bowl with rice and it’s a decent size that’s tasty. I haven’t had Wahoo’s tacos since I lived in San Diego so this was a nice stop to make. They do have a cute bar seating area that faces the street with fresh air coming in and you can people watch or they watch you eat. ;p

Spicy chicken tacos without cheese = great Not very spicy, but flavorful Chips and guacamole = tasty I prefer thinner chips. Guacamole looked a little sad/old, but we were there at 8:30pm Salsa = tasted like chili powder Not my preference Boyfriend got the spicy fish tacos and he enjoyed them. The ice machine spout appeared in need of cleaning(looked black on the edges).

Wahoos is one of my favorite lunch spots in OC. This was my 1st time to the downtown location and it was really nice. Kind of a long but thin version of the other spots. Downtown has that fun, busy tourist type feel. The menu is the same, the salad slightly smaller than other locations. If your downtown and need a great spot to eat, check them out.

I’m not from around here but someone recommended it and I’m so happy they did. This place was pretty fast for takeout. In and out with a delish burrito in hand in 8 minutes. Took it to the beach and nommed that thing so hard. The Outer Reef Burrito was so easy to eat and full of taste. Just imaging a chipotle burrito but all of the ingredients taste authentic and they all pop out at you. TASTEBOMB right in the mouth. Also, it seems like they add some butter to it, which is never a bad thing. Like wow. Get it with guac and sour cream, you won’t regret it. Best burrito I have ever had.

When they got my order wrong and drove all the way back for them to fix it, they gave me a hard time about it. The girl that took my order said she heard differently& I only paid for beans& not rice(when the menu said add rice& beans $ 1.50& she charged me $ 2.50 just for beans) GETREADYFORTHIS: When I asked for the side of rice she looked at another employee& said, «Should I give her a side of rice?» The other employee nods yes & she says, «Okay, I will.» WHAT?! Who says that in front of a customer?! They never apologized about getting my order wrong& the employee I had to deal with ruined the entire store for me. I won’t be coming back to this Wahoo’s.

Foods great, my problem is I ordered for the 2nd time online and the«lost my order» twice in one week! Get your damn online ordering fixes. I am pissed and missed my lunch. I’m glad I get to wait till the end of my 10 hour shift to eat. No worries.

I loved the scream’n burrito. It was so tasty and the right amount of spicy! I will definitely come back for that! I rated this place 3 stars because of the lady who took our order. She was so rude and I really did not appreciate the way she took my order with an attitude ESPECIALLY when she was the one who made the mistake. I did not give her a problem for almost charging me more. so she definitely shouldn’t have given me one for something she did. Everyone else was so nice. So i guess i give her 3 stars.

After a day on the beach, I was craving some fish tacos and cold beer. I remembered a visit to Wahoo’s in Austin, TX and thought I’d check on the HB spot. I was a little bummed when I realized they only had grilled fish tacos, not the beer battered, Ensenada style I was after. I went ahead and ordered the taco plate and subbed the rice for the slaw(slaw was great! crunchy, tangy, fresh). I asked for a side of their hottest hot sauce, which of course was not spicy at all, so that was a tad bit disappointing. My plate came out and I could instantly tell my fish had been grilled a while ago, staying warm under a heat lamp until someone ordered it. It was very dry! I tried to salvage it with hot sauce and lime juice but nothing could rescue this little fish. In the end, I didn’t get the delicious fresh fish tacos I was in search of, but at least my pitcher of beer was cold!

Wahoo’s is always a safe bet for a fast casual lunch on Main St. You order at the counter, and they will bring your food to you. The interior has a surf and skate culture vibe, with lots of stickers on the walls, skateboards, and surf art. This particular location has 2 restrooms. The employees here are always nice, quick, and keep the place very clean. Even if there is a long line to order, it typically goes by fast and the wait for your food is only 5 – 10 minutes depending on how much you order. My go-to is the Outer Reef Burrito(cheese, lettuce, rice, beans, green sauce) with grilled chicken as my protein. The green sauce here is awesome. I recently tried the Citrus Slaw Taco with grilled fish which was very flavorful and juicy. Fish tacos are not something I order often, and I truly enjoyed these. They also offer a selection of bowls, burritos and kids meals, all of which you are able to choose your protein. Proteins are as follows: chicken, carnitas, carne asada, fish, shrimp, tofu, and at some locations, wild-caught salmon.
