We have eaten here before and thought it was pretty good, but yesterday’s visit was less than satisfactory. They do have a good drink selection and a lot of beers, but based on this trip the food is going downhill. I got the short rib tacos and as I lifted the first one from the plate it split in half because of the grease. The second was literally soaking in a pool of grease causing me to eat the insides with a fork and leave the soggy tortilla. My wife had a taco sampler which looked ok, but she said was very bland. Also, when she told the waitress that her margarita was in a badly cracked glass, it was merely poured into another one, leaving us to ponder glass shards in crushed ice. The place has a great viewing counter and a good bar vibe, but the food is clearly secondary now.

My boyfriend and I love this restaurant/bar. We always manage to get our same seats at the bar… it’s sometimes busier than others but we’ve never had trouble being waited on immediately. Depending on the bartender, we’ve had some exceptionally great drinks! The food is great too… I usually order the Taco Sampler which gives you a fish, carne, pollo and pork taco! So much food at a very reasonable price. My boyfriend loves the Salmon. Ambiance is great, fun and welcoming. We had the best service just the other day and I wish I had the bartenders name so I could give her a well deserved shout out! The location on Main St is so great and There’s a low cost parking structure near by. There is some street meter parking also. One thing worth noting as well is that the woman’s restroom is always clean! I think that’s so important!

Let’s cut to the chase here: it’s perfectly acceptable. You won’t get mind blowing grub but you won’t walk away chagrined either. The draft beer offerings are healthy, the mixed drinks are decent. Outdoor seating is limited but if you score a table, it makes for a some good people watching; not to mention being to watch the endless parade of cool cars going up and down Main. Now, about the food. None of it is exceptionally adventurous. The chicken and the fish in my tacos were a little on the dry side but the short rib tacos had OK flavor even if the dayglo orange fat dripped out a little too much. The tortilla chips and the pico de gallo had nice crisp and bites. The helping sizes are not gluttonous, which is nice. In a pinch, this place will do the job but like most food joints along a high street, you’re not gonna get a killer range of food.

We came here with a large group of girls for a bachelorette party on Saturday night around 10:30PM. This is normally not the type of place I would frequent. I prefer a live rock band over a dj and dance music so by no means am I a night club type of gal. However, I do have quite a bit of respect for Dos Toros. The staff was very attentive making sure that the patrons had water and cleaning the dance floor so no one would slip. I cannot speak to the food or drink as I didn’t have either here. Good crowd of all types of people ready to have a fun night. Parking is just like anywhere downtown HB. Meters, street parking in the neighborhoods, and parking garages.

Amazing food, drinks and service! I had a millionaire margarita and it was OK but a Lil small. I told my server to make it bigger and she brought me like a 12oz glass with like double the alcohol. It was amazing plus the first one was free. The Carne asada plate was delicious. Tender meat and we’ll cooked. Ask for their special hot salsa if u want extra spiciness. Overall great food and great service!

Been here many many times and have to say we are having the best service. Service can be hit & miss. Tonight we brought friends visiting us from Minnesota… Bronson has been super… his recommendations on the Pozole was spot on. Thanks Bronson for making this an enjoyable evening for our friends.

Check out their happy hour menu! They have some great stuff on there. But if you didn’t catch the happy hour time, I totally recommend the … — Short Rib Tacos — Shrimp Enchiladas — Combo plates :)

Came here on Saturday with my Girlfriend, Uncle, and Cousin. It was my Girlfriend and my first time. I must say, it is entertaining, up-beat, casual, trendy, and the drinks are awesome. the location is perfect. Their margaritas were great, IPA were very good, and a new drink for me was the Jalapeño Margarita. This drink was really interesting and full of flavor. Their carne asada nacho’s were also very good and enough for several people. I would say, if you are in the area and want place to grab a bite and have a drink, then this is a must stop!

My roommies and I went here on Sunday(10⁄18) we sat outside. The weather was cool and perfect! Right off the bat our server(she had brown curly hair) had an attitude problem, was being very short and snappy with us the whole time, took forever getting our drinks and she mad it obvious that she was upset at us when we told her that we ordered with someone else(since she was taking forever). When I went to the restroom I saw her leaning on the POS chatting it up with another server. My roommates and I are all in the service industry and understand that service can sometimes lack if a server gets busy(we’ve all been there) but to see her just chatting it up and giving us attitude for no reason is just ridiculous. The food here was soooo delicious and reminded me of my grandma’s cooking! The other blond server and buss boys were great and picked up the slack. It’s really unfortunate that we had the server we did because I would love to give this spot 5 stars

Spicy chicken and beef tacos are my go to meal. Been 6 months and I still LOVE them. I also enjoyed their jalapeño margarita and Mexican peach alcoholic beverages this trip. Yum! Waiter was extremely attentive and helped me decided which drink to order first(start sweet and move to spicy). Place was pretty busy for a Saturday night at 8pm.

What keeps me coming back you ask? HAPPYHOUR. Listen. Huntington Beach only has a handful of great places for Happy Hour. This consists of not only a discount on food but definitely booze PLUS extensive hours. Not this 3 – 6 shit. They always have on sports, which seems to get me all riled up and sports-like. Tuesday’s HH goes until closing and they have some great deals: Mexican street corn for $ 2.50, street tacos for $ 2 each, some corn cake tostada thing– I dunno. Who really ever looks beyond tacos anyways? Also a great spot for Sunday brunch(no there is no bottomless champagne. yah I know. let me finish.) Huge micheladas and albondigas. I’m a soup whore. Moving on… So aside from that, Im a sucker for Luchadors and I dig the indoor/outdoor feel. Downside: we prefer bar seating and it’s a small battle to get a seat. I give a lot of stink eye to the current threats walking through the door, potentially snagging a seat because I got there 39 seconds before them. *glaring as I type. But the bartenders(SHOUTOUTTOCARLOS) are so accommodating and willing to make room for us. PS: QUESOFUNDIDO. SI!

This used to be my happy hours place in HB, but no more. We came 7 mins before happy hours is over and was told that they can’t honor the happy hours price Bc the registered is already lock and they can’t over it. Be sure to come 15 mins before happy hours is over if you wanted your happy hours to count. Most other places wouldn’t care and even honor happy hours prices after happy hours a couple mins. Nevertheless to say, no longer my favorite place.

We passed by the restaurant every time we go to the HB street fair, the restaurant was always full so we figured it must really be good. Well, yesterday we wanted to go to Longboard but they did not have the BBQ specials as advertised, it was for the other Longboard, we decided to try Dos Toros. Service was good so we do not know what the complain was from the other guests, what shocked me was how pricey it was, the beer was $ 6 when other bars on the street charged $ 4, my margarita was small and it was $ 6 or $ 7, it should have been no more than $ 4, it tasted awful, the bartender was Mexican so I expected fresh lime like at Acapulco cantina but they had some lousy mix. The carne asada sopes, $ 5 for 2, were so delicious but the bread was a little hard, the carne asada was marinated to perfection, I gave this a 4.5 stars but the taquitos were bland, don’t even bother. We ordered a short rib plate from the regular menu, at $ 14.95, it was expensive as there were very little ribs, it was decorated beautifully but it was just salty and on a mountain of mashed potatoes. Needless to say, I was very disappointed, I guess I should have gone to my usual Mexican hangout, the Acapulco restaurant.

not bad at all… came here with a coworker to watch the soccer semi finals and grab some lunch. Huge TVs everywhere and not too loud so you could hear the tv and have a conversation without screaming at each other. Chips and salsa as soon as we were seated. YUM! He had the tacos and I had the shrimp enchiladas. All very delicious. There were plenty of plump shrimp in my enchiladas. It came with rice and beans and a tasty green sauce. I like the open window bar seating so you can enjoy the view and passer bys as you have a meal.

Restaurant is beautiful, service was good(a bit slow), and the open front & patio allow for great people watching! The foods presentation is great and the food is fresh but it’s nothing fantastic. I got a veggie burrito and the veggies were crisp and cooked perfectly, but they forgot the beans. Who forgets beans in a burrito? I could make better food at home… Overall, I really like the place because there’s not many great options on Main Street, but this is more a place to go for ambiance than it is for great food. The food is okay, but it’s not great…

Good happy hour specials! A group of us stumbled upon this restaurant one afternoon while walking around Main street looking for Happy hour spots. This place looked clean and slightly upscale contrary to the normal teenager bros hangouts of Sharkeez and Beachfront 301. We were seated in a booth in the back and it was very nice and mellow. The happy hour menu had a couple of food items and a couple of drinks items. All around $ 5. We got the 3 Sopes for $ 5, Enchilada for $ 5, Loaded nachos for $ 6, and street tacos for $ 2/each. Prices are very good. Our server was very nice, fast and efficient. We got complimentary chips and salsa of course. Our food came out really quickly and everything we ordered was gigantic! The plates were as big as my bathroom sink, and very impressive. We all couldn’t even put a dent in our foods and they were pretty good, on par with standard Mexican food. The drinks were ok. I can’t speak about their regular menu but I definitely will return for Happy Hour!

This place has a great happy hour! It’s even better when you come out on Tuesday evening for the Huntington Beach Street Fair. Their happy hour runs from 2pm till close on Tuesday for the fair. There is plenty of drink options and some really good munchies on the happy hour. A picture of the happy hour menu is attached for you guys. We had a great time sitting outside during the Tuesday fair. You get to have a drink right in the middle of the action! We ordered the Dos Toros Margaritas, the nachos, and grilled corn on the cob. You can see a picture of them below. The nachos were pretty loaded for being only 5 bucks. You can get chicken or beef added in for another $ 3.75 but we choose the basic. The corn came with Siracha mayo and cheese. It takes way different than usual grilled corn and at $ 2.50, its definitely worth trying. Come down and check out the street fair too, its every Tuesday evening on main street in down town Huntington Beach
