Good sushi. Nothing special, though. The service was soooooooooo slow… there were 3 tables and it was very quiet inside. It took about 15 minutes for them to take my order(after putting my menu down) which the food then took FOREVERRRRR… I don’t know what the sushi guy was doing because we were the only people who ordered sushi in that place!!! Then the waitress took ten years to give us the check ugh was there way too long to ever want to go back

The pineapple fried rice was the blandest I’ve ever tried. Only ingredients used were white rice chicken pineapple and onions. Zero additional vegetables/flavors.

Excellent food and never a wait and very reasonable prices. I don’t eat sushi so I cannot comment on that part but the other dishes are always flavorful and great. I like the restaurant because you can talk to the folks who are eating with you and it’s a quaint and clean place. We always leave satisfied with our tummies full and our wallets still with money. You usually don’t go to Asian restaurants for the waiters and waitresses to bend over backwards for you… you go for the food. If you want good food and a nice restaurant… go to Hikudo!

Great if you like warm water and warm sushi. I have been to Hikudo a few times,(out of desperation since Osaka has been closed due to fire) and am definitely missing something that other Unilocalers are finding here. I even have friends who loveeeee it — not me. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but I find the staff to not be very friendly. It is a strictly business here«what do you want» «Here you go» «Anything else?» Type of attitude. The menu has a nice variety of rolls, but every time I have had them I always feel like they are low quality. They are never cold or even cool but are lukewarm a big turnoff for me for sushi, and I see the sushi chef rolling them so I know they must be fresh? But then again how fresh is the fish? How cool is the refrigerator? I always leave feeling like I shouldn’t have eaten that. The water is also ALWAYS luke warm which I find to be so gross. I took Pad Thai out from here one time, skip it — totally gross and does not taste much like Pad Thai at all. Skip this place.

I came here twice and both times, I was pretty disappointed. The tables were oddly sticky. The server was not terribly attentive with the water even though there was only two other tables seated. I got the tempura dinner and it was over-fried and hard. The sushi, especially the rice, is not that well made. We originally came here because the other sushi places in the Village had lines and this one didnt… now we know why.

One of the only affordable places in Huntington that’s not pizza. Great food, always comes quickly. Love the Char Grill Tofu and the bistro wok stars black bean and tofu.

I am in love with the lobster tail tempura roll… and you can ride your bike there! One of the only bike parking racks in town is dead in front of this wonderful place. Awesome.

After seeing the reviews, maybe I had my hopes a little high, but I was not blown away by this place. Solid average food, nothing was bad, nothing was exceptional. They have all your standard rolls, but I felt the specialty rolls lacked diversity. It seemed like every one contained some of the same few ingredients.

Hi! Hikudo! Your food is excellent. Some of the best Sushi I’ve had in awhile! I believe we had ordered the Phoenix, Spicy Tuna and the Double Double and we doubly enjoyed them all. :P Service was very friendly and the place is very clean, too!

I effn love sushi(this is a fact) I love trying new places couple weeks ago the beefcake had plans in huntington so my friend came with me when I dropped him off at the start of his bender, and we grabbed some sushi. The place that we wanted to go to, we couldn’t find, cause we’re retarded, so we stumbled upon THIS place. it was like 9PM, so I was worried we were going to get the butt of the fishes(or the scraps) and it wouldn’t be well prepared — but my fears were quickly dissolved — we split a shumai appetizer and got a handful of wraps — one included a combination of crab and shrimp mixed together with spicy mayo… bananas good. the service was fanatistic and attentive — and I was honestly taken aback by the size of the rolls in comparison to their cost — the regular rolls were regular price, like 5.95 or something like that… and they were huge! and well made. so I never come to huntington, but if I do again, I’ll def be back. I also need to bring beefcake here, he loves spicy mayo and they use it. and their eel sauce is lickyofingers good.

I’d been missing good sushi in huntington since Bonboris original owners left the scene, well deservedly. Hikudo does a great job with sushi as well as a few Thai and Vietnamese dishes they make. Great service, fresh sushi. Unless your idea of dinner is loud dance tunes, this is a better choice. The menu isn’t as vast as Bonbori or loud sushi nearby, but it is quite good.

GREAT lunch specials! Huntington has long since become the«go to» spot for just about any and all things«hot/trendy/cultural»(who’d guess this current resident of «Armpit,» Ohio grew up in such a now-cosmopolitan spot?!?). I never cease to be amazed whenever I go home for a visit and see all that downtown Huntington has to offer, including(apparently) another sushi restaurant on every corner. This is *not* a bad thing, but hopefully the gems, such as Hikudo, don’t get lost in the shuffle. As previously mentioned, they have GREAT lunch specials(I soooooo wanted to order one of EVERYTHING!!), VERY attentive wait staff, and a warm, cozy location that might get overcrowded, but we lucked out and found a ready table for six without a moment’s hesitation. Ohhhhhhhhhh, Huntington, treat your artsy-fartsy selves to some good eats… There’s a hidden gem on every corner, and think of me back here in Ohio, lost in the chains and the wannabes!

Ate dinner there tonite. We had a sushi roll appetizer(spicy tuna); was tasty but thought the roll was small, but was $ 6.50 so probably well sized. Had chicken broccoli and shrimp pad thai entres; both were good, fresh and not greasy. Reasonable priced considering in Huntington Village. Would recommend.

The fish is usually of lower quality. The rolls are usually lifeless and dry. Do not get anything delivered. The price here is the selling point — otherwise its just not very good. I’ve eaten here 4 – 5 times; twice a lunch, twice at dinner. Several times we’ve ordered lunch to be delivered: At no point was I ever satisfied with the quality, or size, or content of my food.

I went for lunch after searching Huntington Village for some place to eat. we settled on Hikudo because it had an awesome lunch special: $ 9 for a Bento box of spicy tuna roll and yellow tail. It also included soup and a salad. I have has similar deals at other establishments and I thought Hikudo was fresh and very tasty. It is also pretty cool that the chef who is making the sushi has a counter that you can sit at while you eat.

This is my favorite village sushi spot, and let me tell you there are a LOT of them. Plenty of vegetable rolls to choose from. Excellently attentive servers. What more do you really need?

I have been living in Huntington for close to 10 years now. In that time, I have never found a chinese food place I was happy with. I went to the two dragon gates, or empire(before it shut down), but never thought much of them. In fact dragon gate is a disaster half the time. The first time I found Hikudo, I ordered a ton of things, just to taste it all. and i’m glad i did. everything was excellent, and extremely tasty. I have been going there regularly ever since. They have good lunch specials too, that are the same price as any of the other chinese food places in huntington, but the quality is just at a higher level. Also, they are never really crowded. I thought I found my Chinese food place of choice when I first tried Alberts, but that was before I tasted Hikudo. The ONLY downside is it could get a little pricey if you are doing sushi. Absolutely worth a try for lunch or dinner.

This review is for Hikudo, the current location. 3.5 Stars Hikudo, is a reliable spot for simple sushi dishes and they also touch into some Thai-ish and Chinese fare as well. The décor in here is simple and clean, very small inside with nice dark floors and fairly dim lighting makes it a easy spot to eat. The staff at times a little slow are super attentive and very nice. The food is decent, nothing that will blow you away with their sushi but fairly reliable when you want to avoid the typical crowds. Overall a decent getaway spot from the crowds, also they have a great lunch menu that offers some Chinese and sushi specials as well. Oh and they make a pretty decent spring roll and hot and sour soup too, just needs a little soy sauce. Also the wontons, are light and easily made there. Try it.
