I’m honestly torn about this place. I go here maybe once a month for the convenience factor as I can literally walk there from my home. However the quality of their food is not up to par with their prices. Mexican food by nature is some of the cheapest food to make yet they charge very high prices. With regards to the quality of their food, i’m referring strictly to the meat. Since this place has opened I’ve always order the pork chimichanga. Sometimes it’s good(not great), sometimes its literally inedible. Their pork is always very chewy and not tender at all but the times when it’s inedible it’s filled with grizzle and fat. I thrown out a half eaten chimichanga from this place half a dozen times. I guess you can say I never learned but like i said I only go here for the convenience. If I lived a few miles away i’d never go here again after my first visit. I was just there this past week to order the same thing. I ordered in person for carry out. After 15 minutes of waiting the cashier came up to me and said she apologized but the cook said that chimichangas can’t be ordered with pork. Once I told her I’ve ordered this a dozen times previously and it’s the only thing I ever ordered from here, she went back to the cook and he reluctantly made it. BTW no where on the menu does it say this, as a matter of fact pork is listed as one of the meat to choose from. I waited another 15 minutes(30 minutes total) to finally receive my order but thought it was so odd they would tell me I couldn’t order the only thing I’ve ever ordered since they first day they opened. Not much lasts in this strip mall but so far so good for Wicho’s. I just really hope they step it up with the meat quality otherwise they may not be around forever.

There salsa tastes just like ketchup. It was very bad tasting. I was very disappointed. Not very authentic.

Tried this for the first time today. If I could I’d give it 3.5 stars but being generous and rounding up. I ordered the new chicken chipotle burrito to go. I think I was the first customer as I arrived right at opening and was the only one at the time. The staff was friendly and service prompt however when I got home(just a few blocks away) and started eating I noticed my burrito was lukewarm. I ended up having to open it up, put it in a pan and reheat it. Once I’d finished reheating it the taste was great! Since it was my first visit and I was the first customer I’m giving the benefit of the doubt here. Will revise if I have issues on subsequent visits.

I am Mexican American and their tacos are really good. I have never had a bad meal here. Only had Steak and Chicken.

Overall pretty good. The ground beef was kind of greasy but the guacamole is awesome. Chicken gordita was really good too.

The food is excellent and some people are surprised on the different salsa but they use fire roasted tomatoes which are authentic in parts of Mexico

I was really excited for this to open, however it has been a constant disappointment. Steak isn’t very good so go with the chicken in your burrito. Best thing on the menu is probably the cheese quesadilla

Short and sweet, steak burritos didn’t have much meat in them, steak very salty, meat wasn’t hot, even after I asked to make sure it was hot, as the last time it wasn’t hot then either. If it’s family, the daughters are somewhat rude and slow, maybe it was just an off day, but I felt like I was asking for something out of the ordinary, nice hot food! I don’t know if we will return here or not, el Norte is just a couple minutes down the road.

Their salsa tastes like ketchup. They use jarred jalapenos for their Pico de gallo. Nuff said.

We really wanted to love this place, but just couldn’t. Very friendly staff, which was the only positive thing I can say. We tried a steak, beef, chicken and pork taco. Also tried the guac and chips. The soft corn shells were tough and the fillings were not flavorful and dry. Guac just tasted like watery lime. Maybe we just got a bad day, but still don’t think we will go back. Just another mile up the road is plaza del burrito which is delicious. At least for us.

Ummmm I ordered a simple taco dinner and what came to me was a few shreds of chicken in a fried(dripping in grease) shell that was like a pocket with the toppings on top of the grease pockets. Food was everywhere. All over the table, the plate, me. AWFUL. At least the place is clean and the waitress was friendly. Ughhh

Perfect for when you have a taste for authentic Mexican food. Their burrito special on Thursdays is great! Chips an guacamole is good(not too much cilantro that a lot of places use as a filler) and we usually get our orders to go since we live a couple of blocks away. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. Portions are decent — you are left feeling totally full. The rice and beans are fantastic as well.

I just tried this place out in Tuesday. The special for that day were tacos. I figured since its been a while since I’ve had tacos, I’d give this place a try. I meant to order asada but said pastor. Either way, the tacos were so good. And just today, i wanted to get some lunch before work. I ordered a breaded steak torta and fries. The fries were really good. I saved the best for when I got to work. The torta was a huge sandwich. The steak was so big, it looked like the cut it in two to the fit the sandwich. Anyway, the rest of the ingredients added to the sandwich made it taste so good combined. The person who took my orders both times, I believe her name is Jazmin, was very nice and had great customer service skills. Next time I’ll get a table and enjoy the food at the restaurant instead. I also like the fact that they have a website where you can check out the menu and prices ahead of time. Makes it so much easier knowing what to get. Hope the places stays open for a long time. I know there’s another Mexican joint in the same town, but so far, I’m rooting for Wicho’s.

We love the Mexican taco dinner. We probably order it to go every weekend. Ask for a side of limes for tacos. We haven’t tried any other dinners, but I’m sure they’re just as delish. Can’t forget about the guacamole… So yummy! I like it better than Caputo’s guac.

I wanted to like this place because of location. Unfortunately steak was way to salty, salsa tasted like they used ketchup, & woman’s chicken enchallata was dry & bland. What a shame. Good hot sauce — very spicy! I won’t be back.

I suspect they are still working out kinks. Overall i’m a fan. On occasion, as my friends and neighbors have pointed out. Their steak(I order steak burrito) is extremely salty. Some times it much more salty than others. I suspect it may be a chef they use… Other than that other items have been great. The pricing is right. They are extremely friendly and I do recommend them.

This place initially got a lot of bad reviews. I don’t know about the dining-in experiences, but I had a big party(3⁄28) and decided to go Mexican. I had Wicho’s provide the food: 4 dozen beefsteak & chicken tacos, refried beans, salsa, and guacamole. Every one of my guests(mostly Sun City Huntley folks) said they enjoyed the food and wanted to know where it came from. They must have especially enjoyed the guacamole because it was gone before I had a chance to get a taste of it. Dealing with Mauricio, the owner was pleasant, and the food as ordered was ready for pick-up at the time specified, and Mauricio and his help loaded everything in my vehicle. I’m glad to say that there was a few tacos, refried beans & salsa left over and I am going to heat them up the for supper, along with a nice big margarita, tonight!

Horrible! Ordered 3 Steak Burritos asked for No Beans… They all came with Beans! Hardly any steak very bland. The salsa we ordered was the disgusting! I called to let them know our burritos were made wrong and was not offered anything! Will never return!

Maybe it’s too early to say, but I don’t think this place will make it. I had a steak burrito. I can tell you that the meat was very fatty and flavorless. Price was about $ 7 as ordered. I am tired of these places opening up and offering mediocre food because they want to appeal to what is considered the average«gringo’s» palette. I think we deserve more credit and better options. I guarantee you Mexicans do not eat food this bland. I had high hopes for this place, but I’d rather go to Chipotle. It’s a shame.
