Humphrey’s is arguably one of the better, if not the best all around bar/pubs/restaurants in Huntsville. This is more of a St. Patrick’s Day review. Decorations were half hearted, told to wait because there weren’t enough servers available during dinner(bunch of empty tables though), Guinness wasn’t poured correctly(rarely is anywhere in the US), had to use plastic utensils and no Irish music. St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday, music, food, drinks, costumes and culture. I’m really disappointed Humphrey’s had such a lack luster effort this year. To top it off their servers really need to do a last call for food. I’ve been deny two times in a row now while seated before the 11PM cutoff without getting my food order because the kitchen is closed. One of those time the table next to me got their food 10 minutes after I was told the kitchen was closed.

The managerial staff of this establishment is extremely incompetent. I had staff, including managers, handle a situation exactly the way it should not have been. I highly advise an outside party to really take a step back and realize who they have as managers there as well as their serving staff. I will never be back and will never recommend anyone to go to Humphrey’s bar & grill nor THEBOTTLE.

One of the coolest bars/pubs in Downtown Huntsville. Really good food. The menu is very diverse and spans basic pub apps and spans wood fire pizzas, smoked wings, New Orleans inspired po-boys and some serious burgers. Prices are reasonable. Great specials ranging from $ 10.00AYCE wings on Monday, Half price Burgers on Tuesday to $ 1.99 mimosa & $ 3.00 Bloody Mary for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Live music nearly 7 nights a week! The Historic building is beautiful and the courtyard/patio area is a great place to relax and have some great food and a few beverages with friends.

They’re crowded, but service is a bit suspect tonight. Going to thought it out and see if they pass the test. It was close, but«Casey» saved the day and took care of us. We were here yesterday and had the Po’ Boys, which were excellent and will try the shrimp and grits this time around.

Just went here today for brunch with the BFF! Love the 1.99 mimosas and the breakfast menu was great! The music is a little loud inside, but I think that’s just part of the atmosphere. Service was kinda slow, but to be fair, it was pretty busy! Food was delicious. Had the breakfast sandwich and fruit cup :) P. s. Free street parking downtown on Sunday’s so that’s always a plus!

Started a tab and had a few drinks for about an hour. When closeing my tab the bar tender stated that she couldn’t find it and someone must have closed it out. I gave her my card to verify the spelling of my name and to double check that she didn’t miss it. She gave me my card and said«nothing here under that name or card, have a nice night.» I left a generous tip that would cover the cost of the drinks and some. Fast fwd 2 days and now a charge from Humphrey’s shows up on my card. Touché’ to you Sr. Humphrey.

Crappy service from the beginning. Walked in with a party of four and was blown off by several members of the wait staff. Finally a hung over hostess appeared and grudgingly led us to our table. After not getting our drink orders taken for 10 minutes, we left to Below the Radar Brew House(best decision all weekend)! Skip Humohreys and head to Below the Radar.

Beer selection on draft could be so much better considering they are in Huntsville. I would say this is a good place to eat and drink a regular type of cocktail or beer and listen to LIVEMUSIC!

We came in for an after-social Easter dinner. The drinks were good and the service was excellent. The food came out fairly quick(fish and chips) and the fish was excellent. The fries weren’t that great, and the hush puppies were hard as a rock.

A post bday celebration with sorority sisters landed two of us at a late brunch at Humphreys. Our server was new to the industry. Cool. He will learn. It was not a distraction. The bloody Mary’s are good and cheap but do take a while to come out. You’ll have a full belly for not much cash. Only issue was the volume of the electric violin player which made our headache worse. Try their brunch. Its good.

This is a late review, but I thought I’d add one anyway. While the service was a bit lacking, the food was delicious. I absolutely loved their French fries and the steak dish that I ordered. It was a little over cooked, but that’s fine. It was my first time there, with friends. They told me that the service is usually good, but for some reason it was lacking just that night. I would love to go and check it out again.

I lived in Huntsville for ten years and only ate at Humphrey’s once. Starving and running out of choices, I decided to refresh my taste buds… To my surprise, I found it to be the perfect choice for grabbing a bite in downtown Huntsville. The patio outside has live music Tuesday thru Saturday, so it’s a cool alternative if you don’t want to go dancing, but still want to be social. Thankfully, it’s also non-smoking. I tried the Baja Tacos and Pulled Pork Quesadilla … both were amazing, so I went back the next night for a Carnivore Pizza. I actually tried to save half of the pizza… it was gone before I made it back to the house. Extras: The waiters can be kind of slow when you sit on the side opposite of the bar, so be mindful of that. Driver’s tip: The pizza’s are huge and come in handy during long nights. Take it to-go. Jalapeño slaw not the greatest… fries are good though. Don’t be crazy enough to eat a fresh jalapeño. My cousin almost died… LOL apparently there’s extra hot!

We came for brunch last weekend and liked it so much we came back this weekend. The food is all very good and the service was fantastic ! We can recommend the omelets, the pizza, and the country ham steak is super. The entertainment made the overall atmosphere most enjoyable. The entire staff was very attentive and pleasant. When you come ask for Clare. Clare is the«bomb» !

Honestly I have never eaten the food here but have stopped for drinks here a few times. The drink prices are reasonable and their daily specials are pretty fair. I can say that I have been with multiple people who have ordered food here and it looks pretty good. I would definitely give it a try!

Stopped at this place on a road trip because they had outdoor seating for dogs. We walked up and asked about it, and they were incredibly helpful! They showed us around the back to the patio, sat us, went to get our drinks, meanwhile another server brought the 3 dogs in our party ample water. The dogs loved just hanging out and the staff loved playing with them and petting them. Food was delicious! I had a BBQ burger and a beer. The burger was great. Their beer selection is good. Everyone was really nice. The prices were great. Food come fairly fast(at least we didn’t notice much wait). I’d gladly go back here next time I’m in the area.

Vodka: $ 4.75 Red bull to go in the vodka: $ 2.00 Seriously? Drinks were expensive and honestly not worth the inflated tab.

I came here for Sunday brunch. I sat at the bat because I was alone, I came to watch an amazing musician they had there that day, nick black. When I sat it was about 10 – 15 minutes before I was greeted.(The musician played 3 full songs) no one was behind the bar. At first there was, but she left to do other things. I wasn’t in a hurry but that shouldn’t happen. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with hash browns and a pancake. All were good. Nothing memorable, but they aren’t really items that can be much more than what they are. They were good sized portions, especially for the price. I did notice the bartender cutting lemons behind the bar directly underneath a leaking air vent so I’d stay away from any fruit in my drinks. I don’t know what to rate service because the main bartender wasn’t very attentive but other people going in and out were on it! Refilling water, cashing out my check, clearing plates… Food was good, I’d like to try more menu items. There’s a lot to choose from and I love breakfast.

We started with an order of fried mushrooms which were exceptionally good. They seemed to be sautéed in garlic, breaded then fried and served with a horseradish sauce. Nice sized portion and well done. My daughter had a blackened chicken sandwich which she said was good. Everything else ranged from marginal to simply horrid. Menu combinations sounded good but were executed in a rather tragic manner. My son just compared his attempts to eat his spicy buffalo chicken pizza to the sufferings of Christ on the cross. After a bite, I understand his statement. Slimy, undercooked, and a collection of flavors that left me mystified. He blows through buffalo pizza at other places but this was just bad. The crust was good but utterly undercooked and the dish was as visually appealing as a procedure tray post abortion. Way too much blue cheese spread, zero heat and just messy, lazy execution. It was ghastly. I had the fried cod sandwich with a side of jalepeño slaw. The grease was just a little stale and not quite hot enough so the fish was a bit on the greasy side. I’d give it a C-. The slaw was good but honestly I never found or tasted jalepeño. Another diner had a shrimp po-boy wrap. He said the breading was thick and tough and the shrimp undercooked and bordering on raw. My wife had fish tacos. I tasted them and thought they were okay but would have been better if the tortillas had been warmed a bit first. Visually they looked nice but the flavors were simply not there. The waiter was great and the space is comfortable but the food simply missed the mark on too many fronts.

I’ve been back for food and/or the bar several times since my last review. The bar aspect remains in the 3 – 4 zone(probably closer to 4) for a fairly good wine and beer selection, a variety of entertainment, and decently sized accommodations(probably the best or tied for best outdoor bar area in Huntsville). The food, however, has definitely gotten better. It is still basic bar food, although their menu is much more expansive than a typical bar, and you can kind of tell everything is made from frozen or prepackaged and reheated, but it is still pretty good. The portion sizes are ample for the price. The service is still hit or miss… But the hits are really high. Although, the misses are really low.

This must be the absolute favorite bar in Huntsville because everyone and their brother told us at least once«Oh, you should go to Humphrey’s» when we asked about fun bars. If everyone is saying it, you kind of have to check it out. We showed up after leaving the rodeo at the arena. It was already full on packed out. Somehow we managed to get two seats at the bar area so we could get some cocktails. The bartenders were on point — he immediately waited on us and seemed pleasant enough. In the other room, where there are more booths, was a band playing. They were playing covers of some old rock. Like such old rock I wondered how all the younger peeps knew these songs. I am sure some of them didn’t and were just there for the see and be seen aspect, but it was interesting. It did get packed with what seemed to be college kids but with a couple of colleges around this isn’t surprising. I just wish this had been here when I was there and closer to college age than I am now! Oh, there is a back patio that we noticed the next day when we walked by. Perhaps when the weather is nice this allows for more seating. Also, what is up with the younger peeps yelling at the bartender to get his attention for drinks? I cannot imagine EVER doing this. I would be DAMNED if I’d get someone a drink that had just yelled HEYBARTENDER across the room at me. Unless, of course, there was a $ 20 attached. But it seemed to work so maybe that’s a thing now? I dunno about that… While there was nothing wrong with this place, it was just a little too loud with the music and all the crowd around us yelling at each other and at the bartender so we rolled on out. And turns out it was my least fave bar of the weekend. Go figure.
