Very pleasantly surprised
My boyfriend and I went here for a nice meal. The lighting was bright but comfortable. The noise level was fantastic (low music, mainly talking from other patrons). My boyfriend got the shrimp platter, his etouffe was a little too spicy but the rest of his shrimp was very well done. I had the Bob luby platter, my fried oysters were great, and my haddock was quite good. I liked the stuffed crab except again a little spicy (I’m a wimp though). The service was impeccable though, very nice and sincerely seemed dedicated to keeping us satisfied. We’ll definitely be back!

This is actually a seafood place! Listed as Lubys for obvious reasons. I mentioned to some of the management the profile needs to be updated so that Unilocalers searching for seafood will see this place as an option.

Been here several times. Food was great and service was always good. Good selections from menu. Try the gumbo. It’s not comparable too Papadeaux’s but one of the better eateries in Huntsville.

Service was okay. We had the shrimp caesar salads. Have to say that they were probably the worst salads we ever had. The lettuce was bitter, and the «dressing» was watery with absolutely no flavor. The shrimp was tasty, although too buttery.
Know not to go there again.

We were greeted by the smell of old deepfry oil when we walked in… Eww. The seafood was old and rubbery. Everything was too buttery and too salty. The beer wasn’t served cold. Everything was bad except for the service.

clean facility: in and out
we had a good waiter
but the food…*sigh*
I got the steak & grilled shrimp and hubby got the catfish plate. I ordered my steak to be more on the rare side but it came out almost medium well. the shrimp tasted close to old… same goes for the catfish.
we told our watier. who said he told the manager. but she/he never came out to talk to us. our waiter was nice enough to give us some warm chocolate cake which was very delicious
