Probably the best southern cooking place in Madison county. Service was great! I got the pot roast with fried okra, congealed cranberry salad, and hashbrown casserole. The pot roast was really tender and delicious, the okra was amazing, and the casserole was the best I’ve had. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for the best meat and three around.

Great meat and 2 or 3. Stopped by at 4:00 on a weekday. Was seated promptly and received attentive service throughout. Ordered the country fried steak(top sirloin), with fried green tomatoes and hash brown casserole. The steak comes pounded very thin, with a good crisp and standard white gravy with pepper. You can actually taste the sirloin, and it is very tender. My only critique is that the steak is one large, thin piece, and the breading tends to fall apart when eating the center. That said, the taste made up for the inconsistent texture. The tomatoes are sliced super thin, with a fine breading that has plenty of salt. These are almost like chips, with a good crunch and plenty of flavor, and most of all, no mushiness. The hash brown casserole was tasty. The potatoes are sliced finer than a normal hash, giving the dish a fine texture. Overall, solid meat and 2. Nice sized portions, well seasoned, quick service, great location. I heard folks raving about the pie, but I was too full to try. The menu is only one page, but I suspect they focus on great execution on each item that makes the menu.

The best southern home cooked meals in Huntsville. They have fried okra just like my mother makes! Great classic southern dishes.

Walton’s is an excellent place to eat in Huntsville or any other ville. We love it. My hubby and I tried it and were blown over by the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken! Totally unexpected and perfect. We took our family there last night and all 4 of us were very pleased with the food. We will go back again and again. The service is fast and courteous and friendly. EXCELLENT!

The inside was much fancier than I expected. Waitress was great, had plenty knowledge on the menu and was very attentive to our table. Country fried chicken had a good crust and huge portion. Ironically, their 12+ hours roast beef was on the small size which was more expensive I believe. I liked the thinness on their green fried tomato but it was VERY salty. The cornbreat(corn cupcake lol) was sweet and moist, yay. I like it. I’ll make my way back soon enough.

Since relocating to north Alabama, I make frequent trips to Huntsville and have been looking for a good place to eat. Using Unilocal,I found Walton’s Southern Table, and since it has good reviews, I decided to try it. The servers and management were very friendly, and since I have food allergies, they patiently answered all my questions. They also explained the history of Walton’s and that all dishes are made from scratch. This company understands the concept of offering good food at reasonable prices as well as providing excellent customer service. For the winter season, one of my side dishes was a new item on the menu – butternut squash. It was delicious! At the end of my meal, the manager came to our table and asked my opinion on the preparation of the dish. He said it was the first day on the menu and was still being tweaked. I assured him that the dish was perfect. A diner sitting in the booth next to me encouraged me to try the strawberry pretzel dessert/salad, but I will save that for the next time.

We stopped by here while in the city because it was new and we had a coupon. The people were so genuinely friendly and very accommodating. I had the chicken/dressing. It was delicious and the sides were fresh and taste homemade. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Maybe these folks are from Texas, because I just had the best meal since my mama cooked for me. Fried chicken, perfectly breaded and perfectly fried, fried green tomatoes that were as addicting as potato chips, fried okra, turnip greens, great northern beans and yeast roll that not only smelled of yeast but tasted like yeast. Every single dish was exemplary. And G was our server — wonderful lady! I loved the entire experience.

Happened here because another«soul/country food» place closed at 7:00…who the @#$% closes an eatery at 7:00?!? Anyway, the restaurant looked clean, bright and inviting so in we went. The service was excellent; the quintessential southern charm. I ordered the fried chicken with fried okra and turnip greens(when in the south…). My friend ordered the meat loaf with mac & cheese and fried green tomatoes. Fortunately, I got to try those fried green tomatoes and fell in LOVE! They were cut thin, fried to crispy perfection and seasoned beautifully! Never had them before but will most DEFINITELY have them again. The chicken was hot, juicy and delicious. Everything that was put in front of us was excellent. Okra was crispy and seasoned well, as were the turnip greens. Top that all off with good ol’ southern sweet tea and it made for a not-to-be-forgotten GREAT dinner. Can’t wait to come back!

While spending the day in Huntsville, we stumbled upon this little slice of heaven unexpectedly. We went at noon, and were able to be seated immediately even though they were quite busy. The place is very nice, not what I expected on the inside for a meat and three… Elevated experience for the food, for sure. Super clean, and all members of staff we came in contact with were very courteous. Our server, Luisa, was as charming as the day is long. She was warm and friendly, and had us both laughing within seconds. One of the most genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting… All of her tables seemed to love her, too. She was absolutely wonderful and suggested her favorites on the menu. My dining partner ordered chicken and dressing, and I ordered the meatloaf. The portions were generous for lunch, and the prices were great. The fried okra was delicious, and not from a freezer bag… Crisp and just like my grandmother used to make. Cornbread was good, squash casserole was good but under-seasoned. Add a little salt and pepper. Fried green tomatoes were thinly sliced and crisp, and some of the best I’ve ever had! Sweet tea was perfect, too. Luisa kept our drinks full and checked in on us often. She really was amazing – ask for her when you visit! We wanted dessert but were stuffed. However, I saw the coconut pie delivered to the table behind us, and it looked divine. I would definitely revisit if I’m ever in the area again.

We took a party of 6 Sr Citizens to try this restaurant on June 15th. The facility was clean, the staff friendly and attentive. My meal was another matter. I ordered country-fried steak, hash brown casserole and fried green tomatoes. The steak was over-cooked and almost crunchy, casserole was too salty to eat and the tomatoes were unique(thinly sliced) but burned. My wife had a similar experience with her tomatoes. My opinion is that the oil needed to be changed. We had Lemon pie for desert and it was quite generous in size and delicious. Maybe we went on a bad day but I don’t intend to return.

Great food(my meal ranged from really good to excellent) we had the chicken fried steak and fried chicken and I can’t wait to come back. The atmosphere was quiet and friendly — we could talk and enjoy ourselves. The cost was very reasonable and our meal arrived quickly.

Mom and I tried Walton’s Southern Table this past Saturday. It was ~ 4PM and the place was surprisingly near-full! We were seated quickly and decided on the meat and three with meatloaf hash brown casserole, mac and cheese, and green beans. The meatloaf was good as was the hash brown casserole. Mac and cheese was nothing special at all, and green beans were cafeteria-overcooked-quality and way over salted. Atmosphere is nice and fairly clean, and the restrooms are nice. I dropped something on the floor and the carpet beneath our table could have used a little Bissell work. In a way, the ambiance is a Tampa Bay Early Bird Special type place, if you know what I mean. :-D What I really liked was our waiter was good. I think his name was John? Needing an afternoon pick-me-up, he kept my fountain Diet Coke glass topped off *three* times and even gave me one«to go,» all for no extra charge! Thanks, John! I hope they freshen/brighten up the veggies a little. It would be pretty easy to elevate the mac and cheese, and lighten up on the sodium on the green beans. It’s a good location(former Ruby Tuesday’s) and could fill a niche. Nice to see local folks(Rosie’s, Little Rosie’s, Teds, etc.) branching out.

Hashbrown casserole was really good, Roast Beef was a little tough, but pretty good. The female hostess was about as sour as can be(which seems a strange way to greet your customers) but the wait staff was attentive and cheerful. They server REAL butter, not that«Crock» lots of places serve.

Our second visit and we were as pleased as the first. We came with friends to introduce them to Walton’s and the food and service was great. Everything is fresh and tasty. Have to recommend the meatloaf — a favorite here. What ever you do try the fried green tomatoes, they are sliced thin and cooked crispy — a real treat! The only hiccup was a little mixup on the sides, but management quickly and happily made it right. They have opened for lunch service and anticipate breakfast in a few months. Walton’s Southern Table is a «keeper», we will be back.

First visit tonight. We will keep it in our nice dinner out rotation. The wait was only about 30 mins, if that; which for a Saturday night was great! Parking was a bit tough, but I have a extra large truck, so it usually is for me. Wait staff was great, always attentive with drink refills and checking on us. My son and I both ordered the Country Fried Steak and my dh ordered the Rosemary Baked Chicken. All the entrees were great. I think my the turnips were fantastic and the mashed potatoes too. I will only provide one negative comment, or a needs improvement– the mac n cheese was runny, which is gross to me, and my son didn’t like it either Not sure if it was a one-time thing or not, but I am not a fan of it.
