A few things: 1.) love the idea of this place. I bet kids get a kick out of it! Heck, I’m a 30 year old and I got a kick out of it! 2.) the ice cream is actually really good. And the options are damn near limitless. I thought going in, because of the immediate freezing with nitro, that it would be a little icy, or not creamy. I was dead wrong. It was super creamy. And I can say it’s one of the best ice creams I’ve had. If you’re keeping score, I got the«mass mocha» I believe it was called 3.) the staff. Home run. First we talked with Sophia… Or Cynthia. Damn. Can’t remember. But then Aaron can out. What a positive, passionate person. Honestly, there should be more people like Aaron on this planet. Loves his job, and his life. I’ll be back. I hope this place is open for years to come because my wife is pregnant and I’d love to bring our little guy there for a party on day. Bravo.

Yes, yes, 100 million times YES! This place is a gem and I would definitely recommend trying it out. Not only is it an experience getting to watch your ice cream be made by nitrogen gas but it also tastes delicious. It’s like the science experiment you always dreamed of in middle school! Basically, you pick your cream, flavors, add-ins and voila, the nitrogen gas freezes your very own, fresh masterpiece. If it’s your first time here, the signs at the ordering station make it very easy and walk you through all the steps. The employees are also really nice and willing to help and make great suggestions. If you’re overwhelmed by coming up with your own creation, there is a «sensation» menu with prefixed combinations. I picked the custard cream, coffee and cheesecake flavor with andes mint. You could really taste the freshness. It was smooth, silky, and you could taste both flavors. Another great combination I tried was the custard cream with peppermint and nutella. Both of these were in «waffle bowls» although it was really just half a waffle bowl as you can see in the picture. Definitely not a downside though because it was still very satisfying. I will definitely be back to try more combinations!

The peanut butter bonds was the best peanut butter ice cream I’ve ever had! The mix-ins(peanut butter cups, brownies, chocolate fudge and the waffle cone) made it taste even better! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The concept is different and pretty amazing to watch. We will definitely be back!

This is such a cool location, I love the concept of making it by mixing the cream with the flavors and then freezing it with Nitrogen. Coolest experience ever, I’m not sure who came up with the idea — but they are brilliant masterminds. Not only do you end up with delicious creamy ice cream, but you get a show while you wait to get your ice cream! They have so many different options and so many different add-ins. I do have one complaint, The two people that were working that night seemed to either not get along… or just not work well together. Between the passive aggressive comments and the lack of communication… it was definitely awkward to stand there and have to listen to them going back and forth. A couple in line even asked them how long they were married. Other than that — the ice cream was creamy! They currently have a special for this month — Green Tea Ice Cream. Made with Matcha. If you like that sort of stuff, go for it. MY sister says it was delicious. (Me on the other hand… Matcha and I don’t get along)

The people working there are super nice, and I guess it’s a cool concept but the product was pretty gross. I got yogurt, took three bites and tossed it. It tasted really fake and syrupy. Maybe I got the wrong thing; but for the price I have no desire to try it again. It’s too expensive for a very inferior product. But; the employees were wonderful. :)

Stopped in on Saturday night, the line was out the door. Everyone waited patiently to place their order. Staff was friendly & efficient. Well worth the wait! We’ll be back.

We took my son here a couple of months ago and it was ok. He enjoyed the atmosphere and the concept was pretty neat with the science behind it all. However, I don’t think we will be back. The price was pretty high for ice cream and we were not particularly impressed by any of the flavors. It wasn’t bad, just not worth the price in my opinion.

I would give this place 5 stars except the manager is the rudest customer service employee I have ever met in my life. The ice cream is great, the experience is fun. The shop is a cute little spot. My two year old son loves this place and I love the variety. The manager was just so rude. She rushed us even though we knew exactly what we wanted. She snapped at me twice and then at the gentleman in line behind us. She was extremely impatient with my friend that did not know what she wanted(even though when she was deciding no one else had come in the shop yet so no line and no one waiting), making rude«hurry up move it along» hand gestures and tapping the table. She treated her employees like trash and embarrassed them. She rushed through everything, so when I ordered cinnamon she flung cinnamon everywhere getting it all over the other toppings waiting to be used. Some people are allergic to cinnamon and probably dont want it showing up in their ice cream so that was ridiculous and dangerous. If she leaves I will change to a 5 star review. Love the ice cream. Love the variety and experience. Hated being rushed, being treated like dirt, and watching the nice employees being put down and yelled at.

This concept was way cool(literally it’s ice cream and yogurt). It really entices to the inner nerd and the potential creations aka sensations were just that — sensational! I had the number 6… Can’t recall the name but it had chocolate and… Uh more chocolate. Put me in comatose hence the loss of memory. Either ways, go and watch some Harry Potter level magic as they turn liquid to ice cream and then you turn it into whatever mush is in your belly.

This place is more unique and better taste than Marbleslab or Coldstone. They cater, offer school visits, and just have a positive science theme. Great taste and awesome experience.

I always have a lot of fun visiting SubZero. There aren’t many places like it here in the metroplex. Worth a visit for a fun spin on ice cream. My suggestions is to start out with their menu pre created ice creams. There is an option to customize but the costs add up quite easily. The only customized one I’ve tried is mixing coffee and mint cream. Was delicious! Fully evaporated liquid nitrogen is safe to eat and does not create an ice-y ice cream. It doesn’t get over churned. Comes out as a creamy and thick ice cream packed with a lot of flavor. Not watered down or ice stone cold. It’s delicious!

The design of this place is absolutely amazing. I love the chemistry that they show behind their form of art. Not only is it delicious you can make it however you want it. They even have citric acid how cool is that. They make it all from scratch with any flavor you want in it. I will definitely come back here too! Five stars all the way around!!!

Worth a try. cool to see at least once. Kids thought it tasted weird compared to regular ice cream, but they ate it all. Went here with softball team. Lots of variety. Takes a while though.

There are a few times in life when something is so expertly crafted that it is nothing short of genius. Such was my experience at SubZero. Using liquid nitrogen to freeze ice cream keeps the ice crystals super small so every bite of fresh individual batch ice cream is smooth as silk. Not only that but the staff took the time to help me make the best decisions about flavors and mix-ins. In particular the Manager, Ashley was an amazing help. Even though the shop was busy, she took the time to help me and my party without making us feel like we were being a bother. If you want an old school ice cream parlor with a modern and fresh twist, look no further.

Great concept… Great Ice Cream! A lot of work goes into making just one ice cream. Tip your workers. They deserve it!

My boyfriend and I went to sub zeros after watching a college football game. Rather than drinking to celebrate the win, we wanted to get a sugar rush! We arrived around 9pm and I was surprised how busy it was! Since it was our first time, we kept it simple and didn’t order anything custom. While waiting in line, I couldn’t help but think about breaking bad with all the periodic symbols around the place. That was so creative! Once we were finally served, the employees working were obviously busy, but they had great customer service. I feel bad that everyone else reviewing did not get a good experience, but they were friendly as can be with us even if the line was out the door. I’m a patient person, and I was expecting to have a long wait, so it did not bother me. Just plan accordingly for the wait. Ice cream = great! Service = good! Wait time = it’s worth the wait!

Hands down the best ice cream place ever! When are you able to see and eat your ice cream made fresh right in front of you(besides at home when you attempt to recreate what you did in Chemistry class). Walking in, there is a large tower of Nitrogen, yes Nitrogen, and two contraptions that they use to make the ice cream. They have pre constructed waffle bowls, or you can opt to make your own(lots of different options for anyone with dietary restrictions). I went with one of theirs because it was perfect for everything that I wanted(Key Lime Voltage). Watching them make the ice cream was an experience in itself. This is also good because they are able to control the creaminess of the ice cream, ensuring it’s not too hard or too soft. Needless to say, my ice cream came out PERFECT. It was creamy with just the right hint of tart and sweetness from the cheesecake bites. A small is definitely big enough for two people to share(my mistake for trying to eat it all by myself). Can you blame me though? I would’ve gotten more if my belly allowed for that! Definitely coming back soon to try out their other flavors and maybe even try my own creation!

The experience is fun. You go through a line, choose your base(they have a variety which is great for those with dietary restrictions) choose your flavor and mixins, and then at the end you have an employee who will freeze and mix your ice cream right in front of you. Pricing is about average with other specialty ice cream shops. I got a small ice cream for $ 3.99 and additional mix-ins were about .50 cents each. I chose pumpkin flavor with graham crackers. The flavor was definitely good, but since the flavoring is squirted in. it seemed to be missing a more pronounced spice flavor to it. I opted to get their waffle cone cause other reviews had said they were light and crispy and I was disappointed cause it was actually really stale and chewy. However, the ice cream was nice and creamy and the portions were a good size. I ordered a small and what I got looked more like a medium sized portion My husband got a medium banana ice cream and really enjoyed his. its not often he gets an opportunity to have banana ice cream and he liked that it was an available option. They definitely need more seating. The liquid nitrogen tank is a fun thing to see in the seating area but it takes up a TON of space right in front of the doorway and doesn’t give alot of room for seating inside and the line that tended to reach the door. Overall its not a bad place if you want an out of the ordinary experience — its just not as good as the traditional stuff

I gotta admit I had my doubts as I watched they assemble my ice cream. I was thinking Oh man is this even worth it calories? It is! I like my ice cream really hard. Omg it was the perfect texture for me! And the flavor was fantastic! I was torn between butter pecan or Mango ice cream. My staples. I went with butter pecan to see what’s up. So gooooood!!! Omg! I can’t wait to come back to get more!

I loved sub zero so much that I am reviewing this place as I am eating my delicious ice cream! It is not like your typical ice cream place, everything here is fresh so you get to see it made right Infront of your eyes. You can either create your own or chose one of the sensations, I decided to trust these guys judgment and got one of the sensations. I got the tropical turbine and my two cousins got chocolate conduction and mass mocha madness. All of these treats were amazing but I especially loved mine, you can taste each of the ingredients so well and the ice cream is so smooth. If you are in the area deff check this place out.
