I base the one star rating on the food. My friend and I both ordered a panini. Neither one remotely resembled a panini. They were simply sandwiches on rather thick bread. It was evident that they were not pressed but looked like the bread was put in the oven/under the broiler to melt the small amount of cheese. The ratio of bread to filling was not good: too much bread and skimpy, fairly tasteless fillings. I have always loved Alberto’s, even telling our waitress(before our lunch was served) that it’s my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. The novecento Chianti riserva was excellent.

I came here for dinner in the off-season and was a little let down. I’ve heard such wonderful things about this place, but the luster failed to wow me. The food was pretty good… but the service was odd. The servers watched you as you ate and refilled your water glass before you were done sipping it. It is complete dead silence in there. No music. Just the sound of the over 80 crowd coughing and hacking up their lungs. It was dead. Friday night. 3 tables occupied. Nobody else under 75.

So it’s been almost 5 years since I’ve been here; one would think that things would improve. Sadly, no. Alberto’s seems like that great, classy place to bring your date to, but it’s all in the looks. When you walk in there’s a coat check… so good so far. The maître d’ is well-dressed and cordial. The restaurant looks upscale and refined. This particular night we were just looking for a little bite to eat before a film, so we sat in the bar area. An affable man on the piano was singing songs from musicals such as Beauty and the Beast. Minus one star. Beauty and the Beast? Strangely, there was one child in the bar area but most of the patrons qualified for AARP– play some Frankie or Tony, not children’s musicals! I order a bowl of the Zuppa di Pesca, and my dining companion orders the gnocchi. Both arrived lukewarm. The plating for his dish looked like it was just served from your nana’s kitchen, except with a smaller portion and semi-hefty price tag. Also, the chef was a little heavy-handed with the olive oil. Minus one star. I send mine back to be reheated, but again it comes back lukewarm. Minus one star. Meanwhile, we are still enduring the musicals. At one point an older man in a fur coat actually walked up and sang along like a cast-away from The Three Tenors. Fur coats, songs from musicals, high-priced food that’s low on presentation and quality makes Alberto’s a lackluster throwback. High on ambience and décor(and therefore a diner’s expectations), but low to mediocre on the follow through of the food quality and overall experience.

My wife and I visited Alberto’s for lunch today so we could check out the food for an upcoming function. My wife had Chicken Parm and I had Seafood Alberto. The food was OUTSTANDING! The tomato sauce was very fresh and lightly salted so you could taste all of the other spices. Service was great and prices very affordable. We highly recommend this place.

I would say average at best. There was nothing overly impressive and nothing noticeably bad about this restaurant, including the food. The staff was uniformly pleasant but generally indifferent to the customers’ experience. Waitstaff is attentive and quick to take an order which is nice but there is an obvious restaurant wide lack of knowledge about the traditional Italian dining options offered. The lack of knowledge about dining options seems to be shared by the kitchen as the veal was over cooked and tough. The asparagus tasted and looked like it was boiled which is disappointing and definitely not authentic as the restaurant claims. Overall, absolutely overpriced considering both quality of the product(food and bogus wine menu) as well as the increase for the cape cod location. It is an average«Italian» joint charging north end prices for knock off meals.

Albertos had been a favorite for years. Started going when Felice opened his restaurant across the street. Thought it was five stars consistently for years, decades really. However the last two meals within the last two weeks have made me sad. Everything from veal to shrimp to gonococci to chicken to the osco busco were average. I am hoping that the chefs were on vacation. If not WAKE up. You need to get your groove back.

Great place for lunch(and I’m sure for dinner as well). I went there with my wife and two of our daughters over the Columbus Day weekend. Granted it was not high season, but the service was very good. We had the seafood quesadilla, Chicken Panini a cheeseburger and the seafood chowder. It was all excellent(yes, even an ordinary cheeseburger). Our normally picky daughters very much enjoyed their meals. I would venture to say that Alberto’s is one of the best restaurants in the Hyannis area – and definitely should be on your list of places to eat.

I can’t say that I ever rate a place based on their bread that they give you for free. This place had a great wine selection. Anyone who likes wine will be happy to come here. I got a house salad with my meal, the house dressing was amazing. I wish I could have it at home. I also got the filet with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. The filet was cooked to perfection. My wife got an italian dish. She said it was very good. I didn’t try it because it had mushrooms. I wish I were able to try the dessert but I was too full from the actual dinner to get to it.

Hands down best cannelloni I have ever had. Filling is beef, pork and pine nuts. The pine nuts made the dish. Pasta was fresh and amount of cheese on top was just right. Fresh steamed broccoli on the side was delicious. We also had the papperdelle pasta dish. Perfectly made homemade noodles. Worth adding a meatball, they are delicious. Started with the chopped Italian salad. Incredible! Service was wonderful.

Nice dining experience! Service is exceptional ! Had the aged Sirloin steak came out as ordered, however steak seemed a bit chewy and grilled veggies were tasteless! Other diners with me had salmon which was a generous serving But veggies were also tasteless!

My husband and I made a reservation this Labor Day weekend for 7:00. It was really not necessary. The food was just ok, I was really surprised. My husband ordered a linguine with shrimp, lobster & Alfredo. The sauce was quite thin. I had chicken saltimbocca, it has a Marsala sauce that was bland and didn’t quite taste like Marsala at all. I was really disappointed.

Had a delicious dinner here! I started out with the seafood bisque. Very tasty but was definitely missing those chunks of seafood you really wanted. My fiancé got the chowder and it was pretty on point. For our entrees I got the lobster ravioli and he got the seafood Alberto. Lobster rav was great! No complaints. The seafood Alberto was also wonderful. Humongous shrimp, scallops, mussels among everything else. Portions are huge! Go hungry. Waitstaff was super nice and loved to chit chat. Glad we chose this as our first dinner while visiting Cape Cod.

Everything was perfect! I celebrated my 30th birthday here and it was such a delightful experience. Our server RACHEL was unbelievable, she was pleasant, professional, and so enthusiastic! She really made our experience unforgettable the restaurant is lucky to have her! We started with the spinach salad which was delicious then had lobster ravioli with huge pieces of lobster and the lamb osso buco both were scrumptious! We of course finished with birthday cake! This place is definitely a must visit on Cape!

Oysters… GIGANTIC, delicious, and SUPER fresh. Arugula salad, they let me get a yummy starter portion, bf loved his bowl of seafood chowder, and the fish sandwich was good too. Sat outside in the sun on a gorgeous day and had a great meal for $ 47.99…totally worth it:)

Alberto’s Ristorante — Hyannis, MA — 4÷15÷2015 Three slices of room temperature French bread… Olive Oil with a medley of Olives… Cakes of butter… The bread almost has a sourdough quality to it and was quite scrumptious… I usually prefer my bread served warm but this was quite spectacular. Turns out they get their bread from a gourmet French bakery around the corner… Next up… Zuppa de Pesce! A tomato based soup with cod, orange rind and herbs and spices served with a potato aioli, crushed red pepper flakes, parsley flakes, Garlic and Olive Oil. From all I’ve heard about this soup I would have expected something a bit more robust… Don’t get me wrong…, It was good but it didn’t take my taste buds hostage… I would have referred something with a bit more of a kick and more of a stew as this dish is intended… And as far as the orange rind…, I didn’t taste that… I think it was more fish soup than the dish that originated in Genoa Italy… Call me spoiled but they don’t remove the table crumbs between courses here either… For the main… Seafood Alberto… Fresh clams, mussels, scallops, shrimps, calamari and Lobstah sautéed with garlic, extra virgin olive oil, white wine and fresh plumb tomato sauce over linguini fini… It was OK… Didn’t bowl me over and truth be told the calamari was a bit chewy… Figured I was on the Cape so go seafood but I guess you can’t always judge a book by it’s cover… Nice décor and super friendly staff giving an impression of elegant fine dining but… You may like it but for me… I’ve done it and can check it off my list… I’m looking to be wow’d and I just wasn’t… I’ll skip my usual cappuccino and desert for fear of the triple play in disappointment…

The restaurant was beautiful and the room we sat in reminded me of Passports in Gloucester. We started with pure Olive Oil(no seasonings) and bread and it was great. I loved the taste of the olive oil. We then had the Lobster Bisque. My, my was it good. It was just as good as Turners… My boyfriend turned me on to Lobster Bisque and this one was 5 stars. Mr. Wonderful had the Seafood Fra Diavolo and said it was great. He also said that the dish was endless… pasta AND seafood. Seafood Fra Diavolo isn’t for me so I had the Fish and Chips. It was very fresh and I enjoyed it. My boyfriend had a custard dessert w/caramel topping.(sorry, going on memory) and he enjoyed it. I had the apple crisp and it was out of this world. I have NEVER had apple crisp like this before. Thank you so much. We had a great experience.

After tasting the real Italian cuisine, you become a little bit picky on restaurants that serve Italian food. I am, definitely, not coming back. I’ve never had a gnocchi that was so plain like that place. The marinara sauce was very watery and plain. My boyfriend had the seafood plate and didnt like it either. For what you pay, you could have something tastier. I can cook better pastas and sauces.

Our party of three visited Alberto’s on a quiet Sunday evening. It was clearly one of the only lively spots in Hyannis, that being said half the place was empty in late October. The Italian food is good, but nothing I can particular say I would ever go back for. The garlic bread appetizer was divine, my pasta with marinara was pretty basic — not bad –not super good but what do you expect from basic pasta. I wish the waiter left the freshly grated mozzarella at the table as I would have poured the whole thing on my plate. Speaking of our waiter, he was the most«Meh» about Our experience. He kinda gave me a German Guard in WW2 vibe. So Morose! We were a friendly table but he had this look on his face like he had a tooth pulled every time he approached us. Alberto’s setting is quite nice, it’s on the quaint main street & has nice big windows.

We were just there this Saturday for dinner with our two children ages 7 and 3. Sat outside to enjoy the weather and the waiter was nice. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, calamari, kids fish and chips, gnocchi and a clam with linguini dish. Food was decent but there were a couple of small but annoying things that occurred. They didn’t shuck the oysters, just opened them and put them on the plate. Our’s son’s fish and chips came out 10 minutes after the oysters and calamari which was fine but and it was another 30 minutes before our main entrees came along. By then we were not as happy as when we arrived because it took so long. The experience could have been better and for a price tag of $ 110 for dinner, it was just ok.

Second time I came here and both times were good. I like this place because it is nice inside and outside. It looks to be a fine dining restaurant. They had a lot of options to choose from and the food was good. I got the short ribs and my husband got some muscles dish with pasta. Both were delicious. I recommenced the short rib entrée! The outside seating is nice and it is good people watching. Also in the bathroom they have this salt soap rub which was awesome, it makes your hands really soft and I’ve been looking where to buy it. Service was good too and the pricing was reasonable. I would come back here for sure.
