After wanting something super close by from our hotel. I read the rave reviews so we had to check it out. We were not let down. We got sat right away and our server was super friendly and helpful. The décor was pretty cool too. We got sat upstairs so we had a view of the entire restaurant. Good place to watch games. They had TVs everywhere. The food was great. I got the crispy chicken sandwich. Highly recommend. Will be going back here when in the area.

Unilocal didn’t let me down, this truly is worthy of its #1 rating. The burger and chowder was awesome. I usually hate hand cut fries, but these were amazing. Slightly expensive for offseason eating. Wait staff was amazing, and who I believe is the owner, personally came by the table to make sure everything was up to par. My coworkers and I appreciated that kind of service.

This was my first time at this restaurant will never go back … We went to celebrate our birthdays and just to have cocktails. We decided to order some appetizers calamari and chicken wings. Not impressed at all wings came out there were not hot. So I told the bartender. He made excuses why it wasn’t hot. Then he touched the wings then licked the sauce off his finger… When I told the bartender he never apologize he said that the kitchen was over 70 degrees yeah… He kept on scratching his head and checking his phone. Food was not great and service not good would never go back or recommend your restaurant to anyone.

Do not be deceived-this is a sports bar. The food is very good. The service is good. 10TV’s in the dining room! My husband and I went for a quiet dinner. No. We do not watch TV. Our server was nice and efficient. Other servers did not have the time of day for us. We were the only diners in the room and they would not turn the TV’s off or even down. Again, I have been there and seated near the bar and enjoyed the food. The chicken risotto is delicious. Just be aware-if you love TV you will enjoy this place.

Was visiting Hyannis over the school vacation week and couldn’t wait to visit Portside Tavern as the Unilocalers were making it rain praise for this place lately. The service was great, our server(Jamie) was never gone for long and we waited for nothing. The owner visited several times and had some interesting conversations with us. For our food we had the Clam Chowder and Calamari for apps. Both were very good. I loved the chowder as it was not just your typical creamy, thick version. It was cream based but not thickened with flour. The bacon flavor distinct and tasty with a good mix of potatoes, clams, celery and spices. The calamari — crispy with equal portion of tentacles and rings in a marinara sauce. They serve a bread with a sweet butter(I got maple notes). My wife got the butternut squash ravioli’s for an entrée and found it good but a little too sweet and noted the filling was white with no hint of squash yellow or much squash taste. Autumn got her usual Mac and Cheese — but this is no Kraft version and she found it a bit dry. I had read the reviews and got the short ribs. They were as good as everyone says. Melt in your mouth and a perfect combo with the fettuccine noodles. They say the upper deck will be open this summer with a bar — now that will be pretty sweet. Not sure I’d bring the 7 year old next time … but rest assured there will be a next time.

Had the Pork belly and scallop pizza. It had lots of scallops and lots of pork belly. It was yum yum yum. Also had the iceberg wedge salad with blue cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, excellent. Nice atmosphere lots of big screen TVs. It was a Saturday night and they had live entertainment, The girl singer has an excellent voice and did a great job singing Carole King songs. The owner was friendly and came up to our table and our waitress was very friendly and attentive great service. We used the Unilocal coupon which was awesome, glad the owner offered that. Top notch all the way around.

Ate here last night with my wife. I called ahead and our table was ready on arrival. We sat upstairs which was very nice. We ordered the nachos and loved them. I then had the Cuban. I asked the waitress if they could spice it up with some jalapeños which they did. It was delicious. My wife had a burger and liked it too. The waitress did forget to ask about my side and just brought me fries. I would have gotten the half wedge. But is was OK because I was quite full anyway. I’m definitely going back here to try more things on the menu.

Wow, what a great local place. Away for the weekend and decided to stay away from chains and eat local. I’d be lying if I wasn’t drawn here by the Unilocal online offer. But it was well worth it and made for a great dinner with my wife. She had the scallops and was in love! I had the steak tips, although a little over cooked from the med rare I ordered they were fantastic. Great flavor. Service was excellent as well. Our server Crystal was pleasant and kept tabs on us even though it was busy. Another gentleman stopped by as well. If I am in the area again I would most definitely go back. Small parking lot, if it’s full don’t drive away, there may not even be a wait.

The chef here(Michael Crowell-Hall from Vermont and Plymouth, MA.) is going to be better known soon! It’s a wonderful new place here in Hyannis with tasty appetizers and a special tonight– scallops in chili paste broth, Thai style with slaw in it. Superb. Even my wife who dislikes scallops says it’s very tasty. The mixed greens salad with Great Blue cheese dressing was unbeatable. The drinks were top notch as well. There is a HUGETV screen above the bar area so that everyone can see whatever game is on. The building looks like it’s been here for a long time but this business started in June 2015. There is a second floor space which I did not explore, and there’s a cool spiral staircase in one corner down which customers can come back downstairs if they’re looking for a wee thrill on the way out(the kids I saw come down liked it).

This was a great find! A newer, family owned restaurant with awesome food, and very friendly service. The restaurant was clean, and had a layout that made it a great spot for watching sports(multiple huge screens at the bar), or dining out with a date or kids(nice booths). The owner checked in with us a few times during our dinner to ensure that we were satisfied, the pride of ownership was clear to see. We will definitely be back!

Let me tell you something… This will be a staple for my family over the next 50 years! We came up the Cape for the weekend and a friend recommended we go to Portside after visiting in the summer. What a knock out of a place! Walked in to a huge Projection Screen with the game on. I’d say they have 15TV’s lined up as well. The meal was fantastic… French Onion Soup was a 10! Our friend had the Burger with Bacon, Sauteed Onions and Tomato Jam, he raved about it. Said it was a top burger he’s had. I went another route… The Scallop and Pork Belly Pie… It was f*cking delicious. Who ever though to put Scallops, Pork belly, sauteed onions and Maple glaze on a pizza is a genius. Should be on the menu year round!

We live nearby and eat out a lot. Portside is a welcome addition to the area. Very good food, from a sandwich to a meal that you could not produce at home. Parking is limited but there is a large public lot across the street.

After reading reviews on Unilocal, this restaurant was the perfect choice! The ambience was welcoming. Great environment if you want to enjoy a dinner for two or watch a sporting event at the bar. Both meals that were purchased were absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend stopping at the Portside Tavern if you’re in the area!

Returned on a busy Saturday night and was thrilled with the food, drink, and service. Everyone pitched in to provide a great dining experience. She had the hamburger(again) and I tried the cuban sandwich. Both were great.

We got take-out from here, and thought it was fine, but not amazing. Maybe we didn’t order the right things, and/or maybe take-out wasn’t as good. But, for what it’s worth, it didn’t live up to the prior Unilocal reviews. The Mezze plate was very skimpy on everything other than the pita, the BBQ chicken pizza was OK but not super flavorful. The fried chicken thighs was pretty good, as was the beet salad and the veggie wrap. But not really anything to write home about.

In short, I went here with my elementary school-aged Daughter because I was going to be in the area, this place had great Unilocal reviews, and because of these two factors, I purchased a Unilocal deal for the Portside Tavern. The Initial Highs: It looks new, and their menu is fan-tas-tic. Like, I saw the menu and thought, «I don’t care that they are 45 minutes away; I’m coming back.» Poutine? Mediterranean apps? Roasted beet salad, a Cubano? Sign. Me. Up. And then, the Lows: They were wildly unprepared for this weekday lunch rush, and they knew it. The food took a really long time to come out — both the app and later, the main course. The one server was hustling, and the owner was pitching in to help out. And, while I loved the appetizer(the Mezze Plate), when our main courses came out(about 30 minutes later), my Daughter’s chicken tenders and fries had several burned/blackened pieces. Enough that, when the server set them down, I considered saying, «we can’t accept this,» but, because the wait had been so long and she was hungry, I said nothing and figured, «well, we tried, and we won’t return.» They really were burned, to the point where I couldn’t actually believe the server delivered them. The Tipping Point: I had the Cuban, and it was fantastic. The side salad with roasted beet isn’t something I think I’d order again even though I love me some beet, but the sammich was tasty. After we finished eating, a gentleman came to our high top and asked quietly, «How was everything?» I answered him honestly, «Mine was fantastic. Unfortunately(pointing to my Daughter’s plate), much of my Daughter’s chicken was way overcooked.» He looked, and acknowledged it wasn’t right, and asked her, «do you want more chicken?» And she said, «no thank you,» because the chicken she did have was burned and she did not want more. He apologized and stepped away. The Return of the Highs: When the gentleman came back, he said quietly to me, «I took hers off the check,» and then asked my Daughter, «would you like some vanilla ice cream?» I assured her it was okay to ask for what she wanted, and assured him that she had simple tastes, which resulted in her politely asking for vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and nothing else. The gentleman served her, and I asked him to tell us what happened today. He sat, and said, «we got caught with our pants down, and I’m sorry.» He explained that they had a rush all at the same time that they were simply not prepared for, and that he was genuinely sorry that we suffered because of that. And so, after I had a really good meal, and my Little Girl did not, the question is, Will I Return, or encourage you to do so? Absolutely. Everyone has a bad day, and I assume today was theirs. They have a great menu, they have a great beer and drink menu, they support New England businesses, and when their owner saw that something wasn’t right, he made efforts to ensure we left happy. Give them a try. I know I will.

Yum! Tried it tonight, with the guidance of the Unilocal reviews, for a family gathering with my daughter, father, brothers, sister-in-law and nephew. The chowder was very good(to Stephanie– very very good, but i think it needs that something to push it over the top). The calamari was perfectly cooked and delightfully seasoned. Loved the half wedge salad with steak tips. It got a little noisy by the bar, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into and were happy our 3– and 4– year olds weren’t the noisiest ones there lol The mac and cheese was a bit grown-up for my daughter so we had to exchange it. It definitely was not orange or out of the box, and she didn’t recognize the noodles. Definitely would go again– a STEAL with the Unilocal deal

Lured in by the amazing Unilocal deal; a $ 30 gift card for $ 15. Easy to use also. Just purchase through Unilocal, receive an instant email and show server the redemption code. We arrived for a late lunch, sat at a spacious table and were eventually greeted by our server who seemed to be serving every other table in the restaurant as well. It ended up being okay but she was obviously busy and would have probably been more attentive if there were more servers working. The owner was helping out which made the experience much better overall. For appetizers we tried the calamari and the poutine. The poutine was very good with a delicious sweet brown gravy and melty cheese curds. Calamari had good flavor but the cornmeal batter wasn’t crispy at all. I ordered a half size of the wedge salad with steak tips which was very good. Dressing was homemade and very good and the steak tips were cooked perfectly. The salad only came to $ 10 which was an unbeatable deal! My dad ordered a half portion of the bolognese which WAS the best I have ever had!

New place in Hyannis. Came here for lunch. It was relatively empty but we got a nice corner booth. Everything feels really new and there are TVs everywhere. The food was delicious! The knuckle sandwich is basically a lobster sandwich but they added some lemon aioli and prosciutto which really brings some nice flavor to the sandwich. The fish sandwich was also very fresh although it could have used a bit more flavor. I also got the small size of the shrimp linguini which was the perfect amount. All the salads were fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. Get the knuckle sandwich if you come here!
