Not to miss!!! I stopped in Idaho Falls en route to Yellowstone, and« Unilocaled» lunch places — ending up at Arugula’s because of the great reviews. It’s not in a busy downtown area, but is housed in a former middle school — the entrance is on the side of the building. It was so incredible that I went far out of my way to come back through Idaho Falls after my camping trip for another delicious lunch. Amazing food, very friendly wait staff and chef, and attentive service. The chivito was the BEST sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve had some great ones. Not healthy, but absolutely delicious and so loaded with meat, egg, cheese, and veggies that I only ate half and saved the other half for the next day(which was still fabulous). On my 2nd trip, I wavered between having another chivito(which was hard to resist) or trying something different. I settled on the«el chacarero» which was also amazing, although I think the chivito surpassed it. Both came with a side salad that was made special by their fabulous house jalapeño/cilantro dressing. To be honest, everything that I ate here on my two trips was amazing. The Brazilian«lemonade» was sweet, tart, and delicious — made with limes and condensed milk. It’s served in a carafe alongside a glass of ice — with enough lemonade for 2 glasses. The tres leches was wonderful, and the bread pudding was fabulous(and I usually avoid bread pudding, because until I went to Arugula’s nothing could compare to bread pudding in New Orleans). If you live in Idaho Falls, go here. If you’re driving through Idaho Falls or anywhere nearby, go here. Seriously, even if it’s out of your way, make a detour to go here. It’s that good. The only problem you’ll have is trying to choose what amazing dishes to order. I’m making myself want to get in the car to drive the 10 hours back to Idaho Falls from Denver!!! Note that they are only open for dinner on weekends, and they’re closed on Sunday. If you’re passing through town on a Sunday or on a weekday evening, stay a little longer and make sure to go to Arugula’s. To pass the time until Arugula’s opens, take a walk along the Snake River on the Greenbelt with sculptures scattered along the path, views of the LDS temple which reflects in the river at sunset, ducks swimming in the river, and the impressive and scenic hydroelectric dam(not your usual concrete dam).

Astonishingly awesome food! Our large group was already surprised by the 5 stars with 55 reviews and the great presentation on the uploaded pictures. The place did not disapoint and my steak salad was spectacular. Also, our group had several diff sandwiches that each person was raving about. Enjoy!

My husband and I decided to drive to Idaho Falls for the day while vacationing in Jackson, Wyoming. We ate lunch at Arugula Deli, and the food was fantastic! I had the Chola(Bolivian) Sandwich. My husband had the Vegetarian Quesadillas. We split a slice of carrot cake for dessert. All was delicious!

This place far surpassed my expectations! A few friends and I are on a road trip and stopped in Idaho Falls for lunch at Arugula. We started out by ordering a Brazilian Lemonade for everyone to try and we ended up ordering a second! One friend is vegetarian and he ordered the Veggie Quesadilla. He was extremely happy with his decision and went as far to say that it has been the best meal he has had on our trip. Another friend who never finishes her meals ordered the Veggie Wrap with Jalepeño/Cilantro Dressing and finished it lol. My 3rd friend and I were both struggling to decide between two different sandwiches so we decided to split two items so we could try both and we were blown away with how good they were. We ordered the Chivito and the El Chacarero. I would recommend both of these over and over again! We finished lunch off by ordering one of each of their cookies, the quinoa chocolate chip, regular chocolate chip, snicker doodle and a lemon cookie. All of which were great! Thanks for the amazing lunch Arugula!

Stopped here on our way to West Yellowstone to snow mobile. Saw it had great ratings and decided to try it. There was four people in our party and everyone really enjoyed our selections. Three of us had salads. Two had the homemade piña colada dressing on the salads which was an excellent choice. It was paired perfectly with the strawberry mango arugula salad. It also was a good option for the quinoa salad. One of us tried the chicken francaise and he really enjoyed it. Also suggest ordering a cookie for dessert as they are baked fresh for you and served warm. Service was really friendly. Place was full of enthusiastic locals which is always a good find. Wish it was located in my hometown so we could eat there more frequently.

I can’t say enough about the owner(s), the quality ingredients, the simplicity, and the uniqueness of his dishes. I travel a lot for work and always try to find hidden-gem eateries. Arugula is one at the top of the list! A welcomed surprise to discover in Idaho Falls.

Outstanding lunch! California wrap was great. Worth the short drive off the freeway for lunch on a road trip.

The food here is just AMAZING. Whether you’re getting something with steak, like the Chivito, or opting for something healthy, like the quinoa salad, there isn’t anything you won’t be wowed by. The couple who own this restaurant try to get as many local ingredients as possible, including the bread, and have also started growing their own vegetables to use in the restaurant. I also like the clean, modern décor and the service. If you live in the area and haven’t eaten here yet, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Best place to eat in Idaho Falls. I had the unfortunate experience of living in Idaho Falls for a year. I lived in Santa Fe, NM before moving there and am now living in San Fransisco, CA. Arugula deli is still one of my top ten fave restaurants. If I ever go back to the area, I will absolutely eat here for every meal if possible. Everything on their menu is a winner, but if you only eat here once, have the Chivito at lunch or the Steak Diane at dinner. And definitely try the«green sauce» salad dressing(jalapeño based purée).

Yes!!! You have to go inside the school and follow the«Arugula» signs on the doors and walls! But Wow!!! What a refreshing change from the typical steak and potatoes IF restaurant! I finally felt like I was getting fresh, healthy, and delicious food! They have amazing water, including lemon or cucumber infusions! With the meals, you get to pick between a salad or soup, but vegetarians, make sure to ask on the soup! The butternut squash had chicken broth in it! We got the Quinoa Wrap and it was so good, I ate the whole dang thing!!! With extra balsamic vinaigrette that was boooomb!!! Service was excellent! This was just a cute little place that wasn’t too busy when we arrived. So, we really got to take our time and talk without feeling rushed! Wish I’d heard of this place sooner!

I had the Chivito sandwich with a side salad and it was awesome! The variety of flavors complimented each other and tasted like a party in my mouth. So please don’t be put off by the different ingredients in the sandwich(which are all fresh). The salad was simple but fresh and amazing. I recommend anyone who is in town to try the Chivito.

We were passing through and referenced Unilocal for a place to eat in Idaho Falls. We were very lucky that they sent us to this place. A little hard to find because it is off the side of an old junior high building. We found the restaurant to be extremely clean and the waitress to be very sweet and energetic, The food however is incredible. Their lemonade is to die for and I had A chicken sandwich that was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place.

HEADSUPFOODIES! Holy Crap! This place is awesome! We were driving through Idaho Falls & found this place on the Unilocal app. It was a little hard to find since the address is for the front of the historic high school it’s in, but it’s around the side. The Brazilian Lemonade(lime juice with a touch of condensed milk) was phenomenal! Next time I won’t share it. The Chivito(Uruguayan Sandwich) might sound like a bit much with multiple meats, cheese, egg, & chimichurri but it’s sooo worth it. The flavors blend wonderfully! The Chola Sandwich(Bolivian Sandwich) with pork & pickled vegetables was also great. Last, the jalapeño-cilantro dressing alone was enough to make me come back. Instead we bought a bottle to take home. And the staff was pleasant, helpful, and quick. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience & we highly recommend stopping in! We timed our return trip through town to ensure we got another meal here… SERIOUSLY! You have to try this place! It’s plate-licking good! Locally sourced awesomeness. And the chef/owner is the type of independent business owner you absolutely want to support. Best of everything Arugula!

Love this place! We were having our van worked on at Oswalds service(also great) and had lunch here. Veggie quesadillas were great, service was prompt and friendly, don’t miss Brazilian lemonade and fresh baked cookie. Portions were big enough to have leftovers for dinner too. I would eat here regularly if I lived here!

The Brazilian lemonade is SO awesome and I love the water they have that is infused, but they don’t have enough vegetarian options… Sometimes I don’t want a salad! That being said, we ended up leaving because all I could eat was a salad so next time I feel like a good salad I will come and try the salad and update my review.

This restaurant is very tucked away and I never would have found it without the Unilocal app. I was a bit hesitant as I walked in because of the retro and somewhat tacky paint job and odd, plasticy silver-painted chairs(which were not the most comfortable chairs in the world, might I add). The lack of windows was also slightly disconcerting. However, these concerns were soon put to rest. Our waiter happened to be from the same state as us; small world! He was very friendly and sociable and was super on top of brining us drink refills. The head chef and owner was present and constantly coming out and talking to everyone and checking in to make sure the meal was ok. The coffee was delicious and my boyfriend had about four cups! They brew it almost right in front of you and the flavor is spectacular. I had the steak and arugula salad and they were kind enough to put one ingredient on the side as I wasn’t sure if I’d like it(olive salad — as suspected I didn’t like it). The salad itself was a tad bland and I regretted not getting a sandwich. Everyone’s sandwiches were delicious(I taste tested) and next time I would get that. I also recommend getting the cilantro jalapeño sauce on your side salad(which comes with every sandwich). Everything is made from scratch and sourced locally and the menu is internationally inspired. This was place was very unique and the staff were super friendly! I’m only giving four instead of five stars because of the restaurant ambience/location and my bland salad. I would definitely come back!

In a road trip, we found this lil deli in Idaho Falls, it had piña colada dressing! It was super yummy! This was called the Hawaiian salad. This beats any chain restaurants around! It’s on the corner of the school building so if you think you missed it keep goin around the school. My three kids and hubby all enjoyed their meals too! Yum yum!!! :)

This place has great food and a great staff! I’m always looking for new restaurants in Idaho falls that are worth becoming a regular at and this is definitely a restaurant i will frequent. I ordered the steak sandwich, loaded potato soup and a salteña. The steak sandwich was very flavorful and the meat was extremely tender. It came on toasted ciabatta bread, with layers or steak, arugula and a delicious aioli. I’d get it again for sure. The loaded potato soup may have been the best potato soup I’ve ever had. Extremely rich and full of flavor. Salteñas are savory pastries filled with chicken mixed in a sweet, slightly spicy or very spicy sauce, and also containing peas, potatoes and other ingredients. I lived in Bolivia for a couple of years and the salteñas here are 100% authentic. Marcelo(the owner) is from Bolivia and has different Bolivian dishes on the menu each week. If you are up for something different and delicious, you have to try this place out. Marcelo is extremely nice and came out to talk to my wife and I to make sure we were enjoying the food. This place is a class act. 5 stars all the way. You have to try the salteñas!
