Payless Shoe Source

WED Feb 4, 8:24pm– I wanted to pick up some cheap slip on shoes to wear on a flight this weekend. I greeted a young, expressionless girl who was vacuuming. There was a messy haired boy behind the counter who rolled his eyes when I said, «I know exactly what I want!» I used to work retail. I get it. This location closes at 8:30 pm. I looked at the time on my phone as I entered the store. It’s a small place. Walking to the shoes, taking them to the cash register & transaction would have taken 3 minutes tops.
But as soon as I reached for my shoes, the boy turned off the lights. Not all. He left on one at the front of the store. My polite human instinct was to grab the shoes and run to the register with apologies. Instead, I let go of the box and walked out… at 8:27 & he locked the door behind me.
Target, Ross, Marshalls, Kohls, Gordmans, Kmart (right next door), Sears, a handful of thrift stores and even Walmart, carry cheap shitty shoes. Spend your money at one of those places. I did.
