First off, let’s start off that I was looking so forward to a girl’s weekend in the cabin. The cabin was beautiful, bed’s were comfortable, and I enjoyed and utilized the kitchen. When my friend and I got there on the first night, it was dark outside(and pouring rain) so I was thankful for the light on the door pad. HOWEVER, once I got the door open, the lights didn’t work inside the cabin. Pitch black! I used the light on my cell phone and walked around the cabin but none of the lights worked. I walked around outside and on the deck, near the door, was a piece of paper for PUD, stating that«they didn’t know why the lights didn’t work, try to reset the main breaker box». I walked around the cabin again, inside and out, in the pitch black with only the light on my cell phone to finally find the breaker box in one of the bedrooms. YEAH, we had lights. HOWEVER, since there was no power, there was no heat. The cabin was FREEZING(It was the first weekend in February, so it was cold outside). The pilot light in the gas stove was off and my friend, nor I, knew how to start it. I tried to call the owner but no cell service. SO, after 4 hours, sitting on the couch in our jackets and scarfs, freezing, I layed down on the floor, using one of the supplied flashlights that were left in the outlets and now since there are lights, they worked(thank you very much), and amongst all the dust bunnies and animal fur, I was able to get the pilot light on. The cabin heated up within an hour, so we had heat… YEAH! The cabin was relatively clean. I did have to clean doogie poop off of the wall in the smaller bedroom(I own dogs so I wasn’t too disgusted and I found cleaner in the closet) and had to wipe food off of the outside of the refrigerater, might not have bothered some people, but I am a clean freak. There was a strong urine smell in the cabin also. I got used to it, but the second night we had two additional friends stay the night(I did pay the extra $ 50.00) and one of the friends could not get used to the smell. She thought maybe there was either a dead animal under the cabin or small critters went to the bathroom under the cabin and the smell was coming up through the floors. I smelled the curtains and I am certain the smell is on the curtains. Now onto the hot tub… so wanted to use the hot tub BUT the water was only at 98 degrees. So, no we didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub :(. All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again. I would have thought that the owners/caretakers would have at least made sure the lights and heat worked… maybe even warming up the cabin and leaving a light on inside so it wasn’t pitch black when we arrived. The only good thing was that we all laughed about what could go wrong next… and we played games, did a jigsaw puzzle, and drank wine!

Had A lot of fun at this cabin. We went here for our 3rd anniversary, to just get away. Before I continue let me say, if you own a GPS(well a Garmin Nuvee) this address won’t come up, and neither does the road. The road is right after the bridge on Highway 2, past the bridge after mile marker 35, there is a Lounge there off to the right, take that street. Anyways The cabin is very cool. Nice view of the river and Index Mountain. There is a hot tub that is right next to the River, very cool. The Cabin itself is very nicely decorated with a rustic look. Full kitchen(which we used). BBQ on the porch. It was nice only being 10mins from Goldbar and 45 mins from Leavenworth. The cabin does allow dogs there, so it was nice bringing our English Bulldog with us. I would have to recommend going to Bridal falls and do the hike. Its not far at all from the cabin. Downfalls– ALOT of flies. No big deal(your in the forest first of all). Water pressure in shower is very low. Floors a bit dirty. All in all things I can over look.
