Monica did a great job with my color and cut. She listened closely to what I wanted, and met my requests. It’s the first time I’d been into the salon, the first time Monica did my hair. I’d feel comfortable going to her again, and recommending her to friends.

I’ve had my hair cut at different places around the valley and have had decent results at each one. It’s been awhile since I’ve been Wow-​ed by my stylist, so I was on the hunt. Found a Groupon for this salon, and while I know a good cut isn’t cheap and a cheap cut (usually) isn’t good, I decided to take a chance. And I’m SO glad I did!
There was an initial mix up with my phone number by the receptionist, but the 5 stars are for Emily, not the receptionist (I’d give the receptionist 4). Other than the phone mix up, the receptionist was really nice and assigned me to Emily. I started looking at pictures of hair cuts and colors that she had done on Instagram and loved what I saw! So I was excited. The days between when I made the appointment and when I got my hair cut were filled with hours on Pinterest to find the right cut and then some more time finding pictures of my old hair cuts that didn’t turn out so well, so she’d know what to avoid. (My hair is really thick and has some curl to it, so cutting it right can be tricky.)
I didn’t realize that the salon had moved from El Paseo to Indian Wells (next to The Nest) so I was a little late for my appointment, but when I arrived Emily greeted me with a smile. I sat in her chair and showed her all of my pictures. She gave such a thorough consultation that I felt comfortable with what she was about to do; cut off about 7 inches of my hair. :D
Throughout the cut, she was super easy to talk to and would ask me questions along the way to make sure she knew exactly how I wanted my hair. And it turned out So. Damn. Good. 7 – 8 inches gone, my thick hair was now SOOO much lighter because she helped thin it out, and the flow of one layer to the next is beautiful and smooth; not choppy or chunky. It was just the way I wanted it.
I will definitely be making my hair appointments with Emily from now on!

I used to go to the location on El Paseo, however I like the Indian Wells location even more which is located back over by The Nest and USB off of Highway 111. I love Nikki and Natalie and I just enjoy the playful nature of the salon especially when they do their little themed ideas like crazy hair day. What I most appreciate about Nikki is that she is fast. When I get my hair colored I don’t want to be there all day. And I also appreciate that she knows how to do updos for long hair and is creative. She has played with some ideas for my Halloween outfits and she has been so flexible with working me in and dealing with my quirks. This girl can cut color & curl like no one else. I also appreciate how laid back Carl is. He has assembled a nice group of people who make a fun atmosphere to relax in.

I love Karl Vasquez Salon, and especially my stylist Ashley, who is the only one I trust with my temperamental hair. Ashley gives precise cuts, offer recommendations and colors like a pro.
Highly recommended and much more affordable than you’d expect for a salon in Indian Wells!

First time here in the PD area and needed a hair refresher. Saw Natalie and was super thrilled with my outcome. She is great and will definitely go again before leaving the area.
