The live music was AMAZING! They played ALL my jamz and then some. I ordered the chicken mosala… which was AMAZING and juicy; the owners wanted to make sure I had a good time. I’m literally leaving this place as I type this, and I wanna come back. What a wonderful combo of service, class and funk.

This is a very weird bar. Lots of old men looking to dance with younger women. It was a little creepy. Service was fine but drinks were pricey for such a dive.

The Nest is a hidden gem in the desert. Rosalie makes you feel like you’re at home. Food is phenomenal, from the calamari, to the spaghetti bolonese, to chicken wings!!! And all for $ 7 during happy hour, which is daily from 4 – 7!!! Love it here!

Bring your lady viagra because you’ll need it in this time warp. To call this a piano bar is a gross misjudgment of what a piano is and how a piano bar works! It’s more like and old guy and his keyboard singing weird arrangements of American anthems. But if you’re down to people watch, there are all kinds; most born during WWII. I love a good mix, but this is just weird. However our cocktail waitress was amaze balls(especially for her«maturity») PS… There was a clown!

This is the nightclub for adults! When we left, there was a line out the door. Fine dining, also nightclub for 25 year olds — and baby boomers! Who thought of this? Brilliant owners! Beautiful people-diverse too, fun people-watching. Great place for celebrations and parties! Delicious food — Caesar Salad was almost like a chopped salad but excellent, Minestrone soup was ok, would choose salad next time, it was heavy on the onion. Veal Marsala and Shrimp Scampi, we ate every bite! Cheesecake was smooth and luscious. After dinner we stayed and danced — what fun! Make your reservation on Open Table and go! Will be back! A bit pricey $ 30 – 50 for dinner add more $ for drinks. But worth it for a night to remember.

Went here for the first time last night with some friends who were visiting from Ohio. They told us that they heard it was a pick up bar for the senior set with really good food. Valet Parking was nice, and when we got there at 6PM, the place was jumping. The stories are correct — lots of seniors there and many dressed to the 9’s and lots of very obviously surgically altered older women. Food was EXCELLENT, as was the service. VERYVERY loud in the dining room, though, so be prepared to yell across the table if you want conversation with your dinner companions.

Love this place! I come here a lot with my mom and we both always have a blast. The food is always amazing: our favorites are the wedge salad(delicious, good portion), moms sampler plate, dodis pasta, beet salad! The cod special was also incredible! This is the perfect place for a great dinner and then lots of fun and good music in the piano bar!

I’ve been going to the Nest for several years with several changes, updated, new owners and five star chefs now! 1… let’s just say The Nest is legendary in the Coachella Valley… one for the best people watching from 21 to 91 years old! It should be a Reality TV Show for sure! Oh wow wee… do I have some great memories from the nest! :)) 2. The entertainment is awesome with Kevin, Tim & Karaōke! I can’t explain the retro to new music they play but it’s a blast! Ask for«Mustang Sally» to be played! Now that Dodi and Kevin own it, they are constantly upgrading food, service etc. 3.With amazing food now of course you need a reservation or you wait in line! There are times, I drive by and can’t handle the lines but everyone needs to go there and check this landmark out! I love all the food there now! :D You never know who you might run into there! Get ready to dance off that great dinner! 4. RESERVATION needed

Wow, what a unique place. Came to this location with about 6 hot girls dressed to the nines. In town for a birthday celebration. Arrived around 11pm and came to a huge line. Bummer. Of course coming from Las Vegas, I thought there had to be a way to get past this line as we were looking hot. Nope. It was not happening. There were many people pulling up to the valet in fancy pants cars that got to walk right in. I’m assuming they are regulars to the area. I mean I took an UBER there. Not like I’m going to roll up in an UBER and try to walk right in. As we were standing in line we had seen one of the«Regulars» pull up in a new corvette and walk right in. He was chilling on the patio area as we were standing in line. Here comes two heifer women right over to him trying to bypass the line. Security promptly went up to them and advised they had to stand in line. The«regular» busted out a wad of money and tried to give it to security. He would not accept the money. Who knows if he would have accepted it if 100 people were not staring at him, but at least that was nice to see. If they would have let these girls in, I would have flipped. It was pretty funny seeing the girls storm off all drama crazy, acting like it was the end of the world. Anyways, after about 45 minutes of waiting, we got in. They let us in a back way which was a small room with a bartender and DJ that played modern music. In between this room and the main room is the dining room area which was primarily empty at this time. We hung out and danced the night away in the smaller room with a bunch of people. There was everything to a 50 year old cowboy, to a hot muscle man, to the 70 year old bachelor there. We did make our way over to the main room a few times but it was so crowded it was hard to breathe, let alone dance. It was a lot of older people(as in their 50’s) in the main room. They did have a «live» band there. I didn’t really see them playing instruments, more like karaōke or something. Overall, we had a great time. I saw the security guard on the way out, who is named Ed and thanked him for not letting the other girls get in ahead of us. He gave me his card with his number. EW. If I am in the area, I would for sure go back!

Let me just say that my husband has been trying to get me here for about 2 years… well I should have listened ~ it is NOT the sleezy place I expected!!! We walked in and it was very inviting, bar on the right, a stage for live music on the left and a dining room to the far right with seating for 185. This place is a hub of activity, everyone pitches in which is very nice to see, no Prima Donnas here! Except maybe the owner Dodi, who is as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. Really just GORGEOUS! and her husband/owner plays in the band.(and they’re real good too!!! they’re a cover band and the crowd is over 35ish, which is just fine by us!) We were served by Francis(he knew his stuff!) I ordered the wedge, generous in portion served on an ice cold plate and the ranch dressing was homemade… who does this anymore? it was the BEST! My husband ordered the beet salad, beautifully presented also on a ice cold plate, he LUV’D it~ As we were eating our salads, Dodi brought us another homemade selection, which I would have NEVER tried, but I did and it was really, really good, a sample of stuffed cabbage. I had nothing to compare it to however it was sooo tasty~ Our main courses consisted of Scampi with linguini & grilled salmon. I had the scampi also sooo good not overwhelmed with garlic & the pasta was al dente, just perfectly prepared. My husbands salmon was presented with broccoli,(I think it was broccoli) and rice. Both dishes were served on hot plates which is a nice touch for sure. During our main courses Dodi also brought over a bowl of the homemade soup, chicken & rice… again with the homemade! and you guessed it, it was DEEELISHHH~ Dessert was homemade bread pudding without RAISINS! can I get a AMEN for no raisins? VERY, VERY good and the portion was ideal not to big and we still shared it~ The only misstep was the cappuccinos ~ served piping hot which is good however the coffee taste was a bit thin for our liking. The Nest is definitely on our list for every year & it should be on yours too! if you live in the Cochella Valley you should be here more often. It has been voted as «One of the top 100 restaurants in America» for 2 years. This is pretty serious street cred in the restaurant business!!! FYI~ on Wednesday everything on the menu is $ 7 in the bar area~ Have a GR8 meal then stay and dance the night away. I think the band plays 7 days check out their website.

You can become ageless just by walking through the doors of The Nest. The fountain of youth has been in Indian Wells this whole time… The Nest has been one of Indian Wells’ best known eateries and bars since 1965 and my whole squad calls it «The Wrinkle Room». Imagine a nightclub and steakhouse built from the ground up with the blue haired generation in mind. I know what you are imagining and you can throw out those visions — it is much classier than Foxfire’s crowd and not nearly as laughable as The Quiet Woman’s fan club. It is for retiree golfers and the women that fawn over them. The median age goes down precisely by half at around 11pm thanks to all of the viagra kicking in, so hipsters and millennials should not be scared off entirely. With the nightclub portion concluded I am happy to report that The Nest offers a large and impressive menu with offerings such as Escargot, Veal Cannelloni and Frog Legs along with in-house time honored favorites like Mom’s Moussaka which is a delightful little number containing layers of eggplant, Beef and Ricotta Cheese served in a format reminiscent of Lasagna. The Moussaka is a sure shot appetizer and people pleaser. You should probably start the table with this. After the Moussaka, your table wants the Spicy Ahi Tostadas. 3 Wontons are covered with spicy cubed Tuna, Avocado, Green Onion, Queso Fresco and slathered with a Jalapeño Vinaigrette. This is a pretty fashion forward dish for a restaurant that still offers Beet Salad and the freshness of the Ahi alone merits the order. Seeing an opportunity to try an old recipe new to me, I opted for the Veal Sweet Breads. This delicious and classic number features a nondescript piece of Veal(I am guessing thymus or the pancreas) is pan-fried in Butter, Lemon, Capers and a White Wine Sauce until golden brown and then served with Rice and Sautéed Vegetables. This is a rich and succulent dish that deserves it’s own 4 star review but sadly that just isn’t how Unilocal works. If this business was broken up into the separate businesses that it is — between club and restaurant — I would give 2 stars for the former and 4 for the latter respectively. That said, implore that you stop if you find yourself in Indian Wells for some amusement and Ahi Tostadas.

Get your groove on and rub the Bengay in. Swing into the night with a cast of characters from the 40 – 80’s. No Millinials here until after 10:30 when there is a changeover of age groups due to the wiser generation leaving because they are pooped:) Meanwhile, pre-dancing we had a delicious old school menu in the dining room with great comfort foods from the past. No pretentiousness here just really flavorful and yummy dishes including generous portion sizes of Chicken Marsala, Pork Chops with mashed potatoes and a grilled Sole with pasta dish. All entrée include soup or salad. Great people watching here to encourage you to stay young at heart.

I was out visiting a friend of mine in La Quinta when she asked me if I was up for a happy hour. Though I currently cannot drink alcohol, I told her«Absolutely! Let’s go! I’ll be the DD and you can drink to your heart’s content!» She had always wanted to try a popular local spot called«The Nest» but didn’t want to go by herself, so I obliged her and off we went. We arrive at The Nest around 5:00 pm and we noticed the place was starting to fill up, even though it was a Wednesday afternoon. The Nest had a nice interior and we found a couple of spots in the back area adjacent to the bar(right in front of the Men’s Restroom). We sat next to a group of locals who were all in their late 60s and started talking about The Nest. I noticed that there were some regulars who had reserved some tables ahead of time. I made a mental note of that for next time. I like talking to strangers, especially when they’re this friendly, polite, and informative. Our night got even better when our server, Brooke, came by to ask us what we wanted to drink. We told her it was our first time at The Nest and she spent a couple of extra minutes telling us about the happy hour specials, what time the live entertainment came on, and gave us some pointers on what to order. Brooke is the main reason why this 4 star review got bumped to 5 stars, it was because of her great service, smile, and positive and welcoming attitude that made The Nest a 5 star experience for both my friend and I. My friend ordered a gin and tonic and I went against doctor’s orders and ordered a Stella and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. At around 6:30 pm, one of the owners, Kevin, got behind the mike and keyboard and began setting up. The music started in earnest and within minutes people were already on the dance floor! The crowd was mostly locals that night, ranging from ages 40 to 75, with the majority being over 50. As the night went on, there was a lot of dancing going on and a lot of friendly ribbing with the locals. Our server, Brooke, despite being really busy, kept checking up on us to see how we were doing. She made us feel welcome and took care of all our food and beverage needs(her nice smile didn’t hurt either). I fell in love with The Nest that day. I didn’t sense an ounce of pretentiousness from the people I hung out with and even made a couple new acquaintances. The meatloaf was pretty tasty and the mash potatoes were some of the best I have ever tasted! I noticed around 10pm the younger crowd started showing up and by 10:45 pm the entire bar looked like a completely different scene. Most of the older crowd had already left and there was less dancing going on. There was a lot more standing around and drinking and socializing. It was interesting to see the total 180 occur within a span of 45 minutes. I’m definitely coming back to The Nest. I can clearly see why it’s been around for so long and Kevin and Dodi and employees like Brooke made a visitor like me feel very welcome. We’ll see you very soon Nest! My friend just moved to the area and I plan on visiting her quite often.

Suzie Q’s Fun Facts: The Nest has been feeding and entertaining the desert’s inhabitants and guests since 1965. Its current owners, Dodi and Kevin Henry, were members of the Nest family before becoming owners: Dodi was the hostess/manager of the Nest for 18 years, and Kevin, a well-known local entertainer, performed regularly at the Nest. =≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅~ Having visited Palm Springs and its surrounding towns at least 20 times in my life, somehow I’d never heard of The Nest — until this particular visit(Christmas 2015), when a(local) friend clued me in, then invited my party to join her and her friends. At 7:30 pm, The Nest was already hopping, though the line out front hadn’t yet formed. Apparently, the key to entry to the lounge-bar is to make a dinner reservation. Once your meal is over, they’ll give you priority to enter the bar.(The line really does get long at about 10 pm onwards). Like most Palm Springs-area restaurants, The Nest tries to offer choices for every possible demographic: The silver-haired retiree set(escargot, frog legs, shrimp cocktail, cabbage rolls); the middle-aged families(sandwiches, salads) and the 20-to-30 somethings(seared ahi, etc.) Surprisingly, The Nest somehow manages to do right by its eclectic menu. My brussels-sprouts-and-kale salad with seared ahi was not the most generous portion I could have hoped for(and not cheap at $ 17), but it sure was delicious. The appetizers(escargot, grilled sausages, shrimp cocktail, etc.) were on the«old-school» spectrum, but were all presented beautifully and tasted great. Once it was time to party, we were surprised to learn that the crazy scene in the lounge(with musicians spinning classics for an unusual and somewhat hilarious mix of silver foxes and young’uns) was not the only game in town. The 20/30s crowd was flocking to another room at the rear of the restaurant, which — with its own DJ, a large flat-panel TV showing music videos, and a small bar — was in many ways a more pleasant place to dance. If you’re a snooty LA type who looks for a velvet rope and VIP bottle service at your nightlife destinations, then the slightly cheese-a-rific Nest probably isn’t your thing. But if you are an easy going person simply looking for a good clean fun time, The Nest is a total blast.

This is a «go to» dinner and dance club for both locals and tourists, and it has been for years. It’s considered a bonafide staple for 50 miles wide. Since it’s been around for years, the outside has taken a beating during the 115 degree summer months, but inside has been kept fresh with modern décor and art in the dining room. The setup — — — — - walk-in to the bar and dance floor, and to your left with the small stage and step-up side room. To the right, a good size dining room thru a hallway. Get there early, or else! — — — — — — — — — — – Busy place, so be sure to get there early for a good seat(530pm-ish), and catch the early bird menu served from 4−6pm. Live music — — — — – Kevin Henry, co-owner, appears nearly everyday(Sun-Mon, 730pm-Close, and Wed-Sat 630pm-8pm) is fab on piano with a magical soulful voice. I haven’t heard Tim Burleson(Tue-Sat 8pm-Close), but my Mom loves him, too. Dancing — — — – The dancing begins at 8pm-ish, and you’ll have age 21 to 80, and yeah, even dancing together. It’s a lot of fun to watch, and even more fun if you get out there. You’ll have the pleasant, the harmless, the old, the young, the creeps, and the drunks(as the night goes on), and even celebrities. In my case, I had Raiderettes from the 80’s and 90’s reunion. #AwesomeRaiderettes #BlackandSilverGirls Food! Get to the Food! — — — — — — — — — — - 1. Rather than Beet Salad, I would call it a Nest Salad with Beets due to the quantity, but it was very good and the dressing sublime.(4.5 stars) 2.
