Not very thorough in my opinion and their staff wouldn’t honor a refund for the wrong prescription contacts (unopened) that I purchased from them within the last 6 months. Had a redo exam at Meridian Vision (excellent) within 2 months after visiting them, finally got the right prescription. Doc seems nice enough, but that’s crappy business etiquette

Dr. Bernstein and staff were great! I came here based on Unilocal reviews. I called the other popular urban optometrist in the area, and they said they did not accept most insurance and I’d have to pay $ 99-​$ 200 out of pocket for a regular vision exam. Vision Care accepted my Anthem Blue View Vision insurance with no issues. I had my eyes checked and only had to pay 5 bux. My vision ended up being very good, but if I need to get it checked again, I’ll be going to Dr. Bernstein.

It’s located right across the street from Glendale mall, but I continued to go to Vision Care even after moving downtown. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for contact lens fittings. I thought the frame selection was a little bit limited, but I don’t mind since I wear contacts. Dr. Bernstein has been great at explaining various things with my eyes over the years and doesn’t talk down to you.

Before I walked through the door, it had been eleven years since I ventured to the eye doctor. (All I could remember from my childhood eye doctor was the highly uncomfortable experience of having puffs of air shot through my eyes and having to wear special plastic shades for the greater part of the day because my pupils were dilated.) Although I was a little apprehensive, I was met by a very calm, confident, and knowledgeable staff.
Dr. Bernstein was funny, personable, and took the time to talk things through. He was thorough in his exam and gave me a variety of options to address my specific situation.
I left the office thinking the visit wasn’t simply tolerable, but actually enjoyable. I am happy to call Dr. Bernstein my new optometrist!
