The Corner Bar

This is my new FAVORITE bar. The food is always great. Beers are always cold. Drinks are always poured well. Oh and we love Monica!!! Just wish it was on a corner in my neighborhood

Great Pub with fantastic food! Found this place on Unilocal while in town from San Diego on business. I wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again next time I’m in town!

There are local bars that have a neighborhood feel and cater to those who live within. Then there are places like this that have a universal warmth and feel. My friends and I have come her over the years on and off and after over two years, returned. It still has that same feeling from before. The food has always been consistently good along with the service. I recommend this place to anyone and will return more often.

One of the best Philly cheese steaks I’ve ever had, and with a side of perfectly-​seasoned fries. Good music nights. Lovely deck. Many southside bars tend to feel fairly cold to me, and often have bright office lighting instead of warm bar lighting. The Corner Bar’s warm lighting and thoughtful layout feel great. Folks there have been quite friendly and welcoming – it seems easy to become part of the community. Excellent staff and service. I’ve been there ten or more times since I was turned on to the place. I expect to become a regular. And, did I mention the cheese steak?!!

Absolutely a great place to grab a bite to eat, and enjoy some brewskies. Taco Tuesday’s is a blast, with specials on Mexican food. The outside patio is the best spot!

So… The «new» old meridian pub.
Not *too much* has changed, from the front face. The catfish is still delicious, philly steak is good, but now they even have taco Tuesdays! (Amongst, methinks, a corona special)
The patio is in better shape and has been treated for the long haul.
More than adequate service, a lot of the same faces floating around as far as the regulars go:)
The walls have less sports memorabilia… Doesn’t bother me, but I did think it was neat…
Management seems much more capable from the fly on the wall standpoint. Super friendly and taking care of business.
A plus… Busted knuckle on tap (atleast, for now)
If I have to gripe about one thing, they no longer carry Bulleit bourbon. While this is my favorite, I can find something else good (woodford, or a few good scotches)
The second I order a Bulleit this becomes 5 stars. Actually, I tried… The second I drink one…
All in all, still a great place when one doesn’t feel like cooking, but does feel like a more than adequate dinner, and maybe a little boozing. Either or… Both.

Under new ownership/​management — used to be Old Meridian Bar. It has largely the same menu but the service has improved significantly. They are back to having good food and service at a fair price. Nice place to stop on the way home.
