Wow, I don’t know where to start … The amazing savory pie flavors? How they got even better with gravy poured on top? The sides that were devoured via heaping spoonfuls? The desserts that were amazing? The only missed step was the whipped cream that had a somewhat artificial flavor. The tarragon chicken with gravy, the Mac and cheese with pulled pork, the mushy peas, the stuffing, and both desserts were all amazing.

Delicious! I had the BBQ pulled Pork, honestly delicious is an understatement. It was topped with a Mac and cheese upper crust, heaven! The staff is very friendly and polite, absolutely professional establishment. I am so happy I discovered this South Bay GEM! Go try it, you will not be disappointed!

Friendly service, and absolutely delicious pies! The mac n cheese is close to my great grandmother and mothers! Not watery Kraft Mac! Love this place!

We were in the precinct of LAX looking for a fun lunch venue. As we scrolled across our Unilocal options one site grabbed our attention. An Aussie pie shop… decision made; on went the GPS and we drove to Inglewood. In a modest shopping area we parked and into this industrious restaurant we ventured. What a fun time we had; we were particularly lucky as part owner Nick was able to share his passion and insights as to how best to enjoy these wonderful pies. The pies are a celebration of expertise and are delicious. The meat is two days marinated and so tender; the pastry on top is akin to croissant pastry and ultimately the taste … in a word ‘delightful’. They are amazing pies with loads of flavour… they really are pies made with love. To enjoy them though it is important to appreciate that the pastry does crumble so best to use a knife and fork. We were lucky and sampled many including the Chicken & Tarragon, BBQ pork & macaroni cheese with truffle oil, lamb with rosemary & madres curry… and the list goes on, including the Classic Beef Pie and the Steak & Shiraz. For something with a quite different flavour there is the Surfers Paradise green Chicken Curry… We are also shared a plate of sweet yams, garlic mash potatoes and mushy mint peas… yum. There are plenty of sweets and beverages to choose from … and take the plunge, and when you do, you must try the Nanna Macs Lamington. We had a great a macchiato too… This was a little gem in an unexpected location. Lovely people passionately doing something really good… we must return when next in LA

What a hidden gem! The pies are amazing, flavorful and tasty. I’ve tried the classic and the pulled pork — both delicious. The size is just right for lunch time, enough to fill you up but not too heavy. Gravy has the perfect texture and thickness. The side peas were yummy as well. Feel free to ask them for samples. Aussie flat white($ 4) — bold but balanced. I trust that it is authentic judging from the charming accent of the people working here. The location is sketchy and parking is limited in that lot(we ended up parking at the lot for Tony’s Italian Deli which looks more like a dark wooden ranch) but once you walked in APK, it felt like a different place. The store is small but bright and airy. Service is extremely friendly.

Excellent service, fantastic staff, and the owner Nick is a stand up guy! My husband Joe and I stopped by here before a flight out from LAX. Not far from LAX at all. Probably a 3 mile drive. We tried the classic Aussie ground beef with mashed potatoes, mushy peas and mushroom gravy, and the chicken tarragon with sweet yam mash, and croissant stuffing which was full of meat. Out of control delicious! Flaky, buttery crust and lots of filling along with choice of toppings either on the side or on top. The latte was exceptional as well. I will be back! We live in Irvine, CA but I’ll drive 45 minutes for their pies!!! Two thumbs way up!

Quite Pricey, this is not Santa Monica or Hollywood where their other locations are. Parking is bad, bad, bad. What I ate was a little to rich and I had an uncomfortable stomach about 2 hours after I ate. NOTE!!! If you ask for sides and you do not want your POTPIE put on top of your sides then you need to tell them to put your sides on the plate separately or they will put your pie right on top of the sides. I like eating one thing at a time. The place is clean/people are nice

Our office tried the delicious pot pies today. We had a big order and we were all surprised by the tasty crust and flavors inside. I had a chicken pot pie and ate the whole thing, then rolled out of the office. Lol. I’m looking forward to another visit and trying out other menu items.

What an excellent experience! These guys make an awesome pie. I was so stuffed I couldn’t finish. Just means more for later. Keep up the amazing work guys, I’ll be back for more mushy peas and stuffing.

Pretty darn delicious. I had a ratatouille pie and my husband had a beef pie. Comfort food! The gravy on the pies is so rich and delicious. Service was friendly. We’ll be back.

This has to be the worst possible location the owners could have picked to open in, but I digress. The pies I have had have been very good. I always grab one to go. They also make good Aussie coffee for those flat-white lovers out there. They open at 9 though, so grabbing a brekkie pie and a flat white is never going to happen for me(too late.) It seems like all the choices in the sides is a little confusing. Every time I have been there there are people queued up, needing explanations on everything. I guess I’d say ordering/the menu is a little overwhelming and daunting. All in all I am a fan!

Nick went above and beyond in servicing our office when I asked if they could cater a cocktail hour for us. I found APK here on Unilocal through searching the top rated restaurants in Santa Monica and I definitely see why they have such high reviews! I sent in a catering request on their website and shortly after Nick reached out to me and helped me figure out exactly what our office would need. I was salivating when he sent me the food options! Then when the cocktail hour came, not only did Nick personally deliver all of the food, he also explained to all of us what everything was and gave demonstrations of the best way to eat the dishes. We would never have thought to eat the food the way he suggested, but we were so glad he was there to tell us to do so! We were all in a food comatose afterwards, much like the feeling after Thanksgiving. We are so excited to order from APK again and enjoy more amazing Australian dishes!

Go. Get. Some. The pies are delicious! Seriously. Oh, and they are super friendly there too. The price point may be on the higher end, after all of the extras and sides and whatnot… but the quality justifies the cost. I am always satisfied.

YUUUUUUUUMMMMMM!!! Finally pulled the trigger and had APK2 cater a party at my house! Still can’t figure out how Nick & Geri made the pies & sides taste as if they’d just come out of the oven! My guests were blown away!!! Could not have had a better experience. Nick delivered everything himself, built the Tiger Stacks, served the guests, and was more than happy to answer any and all questions. Oh and the new Pulled Pork /Mac n Cheese /Truffle Oil pie thing is ridic. The only thing I’m not happy about is that Nick let me eat three of them.

As Aussies living in LA we needed something quintessential — and quality — to mark five years on American soil. Having experienced the walk-in genius of the Santa Monica APK location(see my separate review), we called their new Inglewood location for catering — and from ordering to final delicious bite at our party the experience was immaculate. Nick and Geri are genuinely hands-on, passionate owners and it shows in their service and the food itself. All our guests raved not only about the taste but about the charming young staff [and older owners ;)] who represented on the night. They’re extremely flexible and helpful with devising the right selection from a huge range of food options and combinations, and it’s hard to go wrong — but the bourbon-infused, truffle Oil BBQ pulled pork with mac and cheese brought a tear to my eye. I mean who devises such a sinful combination of flavour? First bite at our party I considered ‘stashing’ some for personal use later — but our guests cottoned on and devoured all before it could happen. So for a unique, hassle-free, and exquisite catered feast, call these guys.

THEYAREOPENONSATURDAYSNOW!!! We have been trying to get this place for what seems like forever now. The one setback was the parking situation because it is, in fact, a situation. Maybe a parking spot or two on the surface lot that they share with the Subway next door. But there’s a shady, very tight entrance to an underground parking lot. If you have a large car or aren’t a very skilled driver, I wouldn’t make the attempt to park down there. Whatever you decide, it’s all worth it because Aussie Pie Kitchen delivers! Right away, they wanted to give us a little sample of everything since it was our first time. Call me all American because it felt like Thanksgiving. Every dish was rich and full of flavor like the most intense comfort food! I was floored by everything I tried, and it made it difficult to choose. I went with the traditional beef pie with half a scoop of mushy peas and half a scoop of the mashed potatoes. They pour this beautiful & creamy white gravy on top of everything, making it the perfect combination. BUTDAMNTHATPRICE! These guys may pile on the food, but it also piles on a hefty price. Also, it’s a lot of food, so if you want to split one pie with sides, you can!

Your friendly neighborhood meat and veggie pie shop serves up a small selection of hearty goodness. We’ve been here twice and have tried the surfers paradise, chicken tarragon, lamb and rosemary, and steak shiraz along with all of the sides. The best ones are the steak and lamb because they have strong, well balanced flavors. All the pies are a good portion, have a flaky crust and are not too saucy. Both gravys are pretty tasty but we like the mushroom gravy the best. It has a great hearty flavor with chunks of mushrooms. The tiger stack is a great value for large appetites but we recommend getting the sides«on the side» instead of piled on. The mash potato and stuffing compliment the pies best but the other sides are great on their own. This inglewood venue is small and comfortable. Lunch time may crowded but during any other time, there are plenty of seats to grab. Cashiers and baristas are friendly and happy to give free samples on all the sides.

Have been here a few times already(far too many since my first visit a month ago), and they have been consistently good(and bad for my waistline!!!) Fav so far would be the steak and Shiraz pie followed very closely by the classic. Chicken and tarragon was good too but yeah, steak and Shiraz… mmmmmm. Superstar of the sides would definitely be the croissant and sausage stuffings followed by the mushy peas. Happy to see they’re now open on Saturdays as well and Melanie is a superstar, go see them and support local businesses like them!!!

That’s what I call a savory pie! My visit here not only allowed me to get any cravings I had out of the way for something similar to a pot pie but also marked my first time having an Australian meat pie and I loved it. Upon entering, I was greeted with samples of all the side dishes from the friendly staff. From here, it was on to choosing a pie. I was informed that the Classic Aussie is the most popular among a lot of Native Australians that visit the restaurant and since it was my first time… I figured I’d stick with that. I chose two sides(roasted garlic mash and minty mushy peas) and had the pie tiger stacked which is the pie stacked between the two sides. I also had the thyme gravy poured on top. If you’re big on crust then you’ll be quite impressed because the crust was delicious!!! The ground beef in the inside was quite flavorful with the red wine marinate being present in multiple bites. The peas were perfectly sweet and mixed well with the garlic mash and thyme gravy. Now back to that crust. I had to slow down because I found myself eating the pie in a circular motion and was almost out of the edges of the crust. I instantly stopped because I wanted my last few bites to contain everything… especially the crust. There was also a couple of people from Australia there during my visit(I love Australian accents) so that made it a fun visit for myself. That doesn’t influence my review in any way because the food and service was excellent… thus earning five stars from myself but I thought it was cool especially since the restaurant is predominantly known for preparing Australian meat pies. There was many pies to choose from and if the Classic Aussie was any indication, the rest will be just as awesome. Aussie Pie Kitchen just so happens to be right down the street from where I work so visits on my way home is inevitable. Really good stuff! Dinner 2÷25÷2016

Been wanting to come try a pie for awhile now. It is across the street from one of my company’s facilities. Not much parking available and they share a lot with Subway. It was pretty crowded during lunch. The have a good selection of pies: Classic Aussie, Veggie Ratatouille, Steak + Shiraz, Chicken + Tarragon, Surfer’s Paradise, BBQ Pulled Pork + Mac N’ Cheese + Truffle Oil, Lamb + Rosemary and Madres Curry. You can select to add a side too: Minty Mushy Peas, Roasted Garlic Mash, Mac N’ Cheese, Sausage Croissant Stuffing, Garnett Yams, Thyme Gravy and Mushroom Gravy. I went with a Classic Beef Pie that was just pulled from the oven. It had flavorful ground beef that had hints of wine marinade. The crust was nice partial flaky chewy. It was placed on top of some yummy Mac N’ Cheese. They have a great selection of Bundaberg drinks(peach, guava & ginger), coffee, iced tea and coconut water. From Peach, The ginger beer is one of the best but I wanted to try the Bundaberg Guava Fruit Drink. I haven’t been disappointed in any of the Bundaberg products and this one was not an exception. Service was great. Friendly people helping behind the counter and even helped in clearing some of the tables. I can’t wait to go back and try some different pies especially the Turkey + Sage which is seasonal.

I didn’t bring food for lunch today, and I was tired of going to the usual: Subway, Pizza Rev, Rubios, etc. I pulled up Unilocal, and this was the first place that popped up. I’m so glad I came here! Once we walked in, the lady behind the counter offered us samples since we’re never been there before. I ended up getting the Steak + Shiraz with minty mushed peas, while my coworker got a Surfer’s Paradise with mashed potatoes. My pie was amazing. It was basically all steak inside a buttery pie crust. It was savory, and rich. The minty mushed peas was a nice complement since it was light. I tried a bite of my coworker’s and that was good too! It was a little sweet because of the coconut curry. There was plenty of chicken and yams inside! This place has a very cute & clean interior with cool dishes! The service was nice, and the food was impeccable. I want to come back to try more pies, and some brekkie rolls.

Had the Classic Aussie, which was delicious! Added Sausage & Croissant Stuffing as well as Mac n cheese as the sides. They put their stuffing on the bottom, the pie in the middle, the mac and cheese on top and pour gravy over it all! Was a wonderful meal. Can’t wait to come back. *Update they also have vegetarian options! Woot woot!

Oh hi, pie! G’day mate! I am loving this new pie place that recently opened up! They offer a variety of fresh made pies. All their pies take 3 days to make and their chef is a «Chopped» champion! When you enter, this cute little pie shop, you are instantly greeted with friendly hellos, smiles and samples! They’re very generous with their samples and they offer up all the sides that they have. The fresh pies are all on display and their is something for everyone. From chicken to ground beef to steak to vegetarian, they got it! My friends and I got different pies so that we could try a little bit of each. Pies start around $ 8 and you have the choice of adding sides for $ 4 more. «TIger stack» is their #1 seller and comes with two sides, one on top and one on the bottom. They also offer«The Irish» which comes with three sides. I chose to get Chicken tarragon tiger stack with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and croissant sausage stuffing. Just at first bite, I was at heaven. It rich and delicious with its crispy, buttery and flaky crust and tender chicken full of flavor inside. My friends got the Ratatouille Veggie and Madras Curry! These two vegetarian pies were also delicious. The Ratatouille Veggie had an Italian flair while the Madras Curry had a bit of Indian cuisine touch. Aside from the pies, we all got flat whites! This place does the Australian coffee beverage right. It’s a good espresso and steamed milk combo. Lastly, Aussie Pie Kitchen offers up samples of their Lamington dessert. It’s sponge cake coated in chocolate and topped with coconut! This was so yummy! G’day mate! This place is so good! Pie perfection, the Australian way!

Authentic Aussie Meat pies In Aerospace Land El Segundo! 23 and half Australians can’t be wrong over their love of pies. Another example of taking something British and making it better. After eating meat pies in Australia for two weeks straight this Fall, I was sorta sad to come home knowing that I could not get another meat pie. Sigh. Luckily by chance on a Unilocal nearby search APK2 showed up on the list! Tucked away in a tiny strip mall on the Aviation Blvd restaurant row lies this piece of Aussie goodness. I went there for Brekkie, promptly at 8AM hoping that they would have meat pies, but alas, only brekkie rolls and pies(technically Quiche) but the brekkie rolls had bacon bulging out the sides so I had to get one in my belly, quick. There was actually an Australian expat working there who was very smug about APK2 pies being better than the pies in Australia. The seating area is very small, but most pie places in Australia were mostly take aways or small bakeries that had meat pies. I decided to take away since I wanted to get back to the office. There is also only 1 parking space, but plenty of street parking around the corner. The crust of my sausage and bacon roll was light and flaky, and I would say on par with the best sausage rolls I ate in Melbourne and Brisbane, but definitely better than the«Mackahs» chain called Pie Face. I did cave and get a brekkie pie(Quiche) with egg, feta, and kale which had the same awesome crust, but was a fork in pie. I liked eating pies and rolls on the go since you could hold them with your hands. You need to come here. You need to eat an Aussie meat pie or sausage roll, or a meat pie covered in mash and gravy.
