Went here for breakfast. Despite it not being busy, we had to wait a while to be seated. However, after having a table the staff was very sweet & attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the blueberry fritter french-toast and almost died from too much goodness. It was amazing, sweet, and filling. Everything else was A-OK. There’s a bunch of goodies sold at the register, such as loaves of bread, jams, and teas. I was tempted to purchase a loaf of the blueberry fritter bread, i opted out knowing perfectly well that I’d have it polished off in 2 days time. and that folks would definitely be WAY too much goodness.

Any time now it should lose the markings, including the sign of Khoury’s. I won’t guarantee it will get to the point of the landmark in Belle Plaine, but they say it will be close. I found out about the switch from the Pioneer Press, and was pretty excited. We went on a Monday, and I don’t know what possessed me to get the spaghetti and meatball special for $ 8.99. A generous portion and 3 good size meatballs, plus it’s all you can eat. I didn’t get seconds, but it’s better than anything at Olive Garden. Really no complaints or Italian food snobbery on my part at all. It includes a salad and homemade herb bread too. Basil got the shrimp trio, I had one of the scampi. It had the garlic and was swimming in butter. I prefer scampi in an upscale setting, so it may just be psychological. I had a taste of the mushroom soup and I loved it. You’re greeted by casings of dessert displays. I took home a crumbly raspberry bar. Add that to the best bar list. There seems to be the promise of plenty of retail items, as is their signature. So far it’s homemade bread, rolls, jams. Friendly and prompt service. Our waitress seemed a little moody and didn’t want to talk much, but she was always there with automatic refills on pop and lemonade, so no matter. The young woman behind the counter however was very friendly. I really wasn’t planning to give a 5 star review on yet another comfort food place, but it isn’t just another one. You may want to wait till it’s a little more dressed up, but then again maybe you won’t.
