I’ve driven by here and never stopped because frankly from the street the place looks abandoned. And then Crazy Girl Yarn Shop closed, so I asked around and everyone said «try Knitting Shoppe.» They do have a great selection of natural fiber yarns, leaning heavily toward traditional wools.
Thankfully, I can navigate yarn stores without too many questions because the single person behind the register was busy chatting with a regular like it was Knitting Group night. If you’re a new knitter or need lots of guidance, be patient.

This is 1 of 6 shops we visited last weekend 4÷27÷2013 on the Iowa yarn shop hop. it was by far our favorite of the six. Edie was helpful and delightful. great selection of yarns.

I’ve visited this shop several times and each walked out with little or nothing. The selection is so disorganized you HAVE to ask for help to find anything. That wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the staff didn’t seem so perturbed to be disturbed. Not to mention how many times I’ve gone in and not found anything that I was looking for. I’m sure for some people this is a fine establishment. I’d give at least 3 stars if the staff was at least pleasant.
