I love this place. Been going for the past 10 years. Today was hard for me as there was a sign on the door saying«after 14 years starting January 31, 2016 we will be closed.» This was a small place, but great Japanese covenant food.

Edamame has shuttered its doors after 14 years in business. Officially closed as of January 31st, 2016. I’m going to miss this mom n pop shop! Does anyone know if they will continue to manufacture and sell their delicious salad dressing? It was available at local Japanese outlets like Mitsuwa and Marukai…

Three stars, but deserves another star because it’s one of only two lunch cafes/bodegas/shacks in the area. They get praise from me because they deliver well on their bowls, especially their spicy tuna, chicken and mixed sashimi bowls. Granted, they use Krab in the deal, but they offer brown rice so I’m okay with it. The food is pretty fresh, and a click or two better than say, supermarket sushi. So it’ll do in a pinch.

Disgusting. We ordered a tofu & vegetable bowl and a spicy salmon avocado roll. Both were inedible. The tofu was so soft it was mushy, the vegetables were over cooked and all of it was swimming in a soupy teriyaki sauce. The roll was filled and topped with mayonnaise and the fish didn’t taste fresh. Took one bite and tossed it in the trash. I’m so mad that I wasted my money. And I’m still hungry!!!

This is a small Japanese sushi café located in an office park so it’s meant to cater to people who work here. I didn’t want to read any Unilocal reviews to skew my initial impression but now I wish I had so that I could’ve ordered the sushi bowl. I ordered the chicken curry but that was a big mistake. It’s white rice, Japanese curry, and microwaved chicken for $ 7. I thought there might be onion, potato, or carrot in there but it’s just bits of chicken and curry sauce. Since there is no meat being grilled or pan cooked and the sound of microwaves are constantly going off, I figure the chicken is microwaved. This leads me to believe I should stay away from the teriyaki chicken too. I saw someone order a chicken ramen and it seemingly looked adequate in terms of plating but I assume it’s store bought ingredients as well. The chicken slices on top of the ramen looked like the teriyaki and curry chicken meat… so I assume it’s all microwaved. I’ll come back one more time to try a sushi bowl or some rolls to see if they’re worth it. If not, I don’t have a reason to come back or recommend Edemame.

Support your local small businesses! Not the fastest service but I think overall just plan ahead. If you’re ordering for lunch, call ahead of time and preorder.

Came here during lunch with a co-worker that recommended the ramen. It’s a hole in a wall type of eatery that caters specifically to the businesses around it. That being said, the ramen was pretty darn good. It’s very basic, but sometimes less is more. The only thing in the ramen other than the broth and noodles are bean sprouts. The broth had a nice taste that didn’t really require the addition of any other seasoning. We also ordered the chicken curry & rice. This was terrible. Worst curry I’ve had in a very long time. It was extremely bland and didn’t even really taste of curry… more like water and chicken. The rice was good however. All in all, for what it is, I’d recommend the ramen also, but stay far away from the curry.

vegetarians/vegans beware: items say that they vegetarian but curry has chicken broth and the udon/ramen has fish broth so i got the tofu and veggie teriyaki which had no flavor or quality

Super bomb, healthy Asian food. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl with miso and edamame and the chicken was perfectly cooked white breast meat and my boyfriend got the Spicy shrimp tuna avocado bowl and it was absolutely delicious! Will be coming back here ASAP. The two gentlemen that were working were very sweet and helpful in choosing what to have! Thank you so much, we will be coming again!

I work across the street and eat here often. Love the food. The place is super simple in design — which I love. Because it keeps the prices reasonable and I don’t have to pay more to have a cool chair. Any Sushi and Spicy Tuna Bowl are my favorites. Salad dressing is quite good.

I conveniently work across the street from Edamame, so I finally got around to taking a nice walk on my lunch break over there. It’s a small location, but there’s room for dining, and the employees/owners are super nice. I ordered one of their sushi bowls to-go and while it wasn’t /super/big, it was still very filling and tasty! I hope to come here regularly, provided my wallet can handle it! :p

I got the chicken teriyaki/california roll combo. The chicken teriyaki(which the chicken tasted to me as an out of the can item) was not good. California roll(which shame on you if you mess it up) was okay. The teriyaki sauce also tasted like it came packaged. Cant say anything about their other items but come on, canned chicken? Really? If you’re thinking of going here for lunch, might as well go to the sandwich place next to it and get your $ worthwhile(which bring your cash because they only accept cash which led me to this low quality restaurant because they accept card). NOTRECOMMENDED

Highly recommend all the sushi, the bowls, salads and soup. The spicy shrimp bowl is great. Spicy salmon roll or bowl is great as well. The home made salad dressing is amazing. The food is great and the price is affordable. You can get a combination of a roll, small salad and miso soup for under $ 7. You can’t beat that. The food is 4 out of 5 and the value is 5 out of 5. Ignore the negative reviews for the teriyaki. The teriyaki is good. My suggestion is order anything else if you don’t like it. You should order sushi at a sushi restaurant. My colleagues and I eat there 3 times a week. It is nice to see authentic sushi made by a Japanese sushi chef. They are a nice family business and make great food. They actually say Thank You when you leave.

This is the last resort for lunch if I don’t feel like driving far. Very low quality food. I believe the chicken they use in their teriyaki chicken bowls and salads are from cans. The chicken has a weird dry and shredded texture. It is also virtually tasteless which is why I believe they flood half the chicken bowl with teriyaki sauce. The ramen is actually pretty good but a little pricey for a whole in the wall fast food lunch joint(about $ 7dollars) It also smells a little funky in there which is why if I do get lunch from there I always take it Togo

Small hole in the wall within a business complex. My husband kept raving about their spicy tuna bowl so I decided to try it out. I had their spicy tuna and crab bowl. It was very tasty and came with sushi type tasting rice. I didn’t try anything else but was told that this bowl was the only good thing here. The restaurant itself looks run down and there is no public bathroom. They have only 1 large table that can seat 6 people inside so don’t plan on coming here during lunch hour for a sit down type of meal unless you want to sit outside where they do have a few small tables.

The teriyaki chicken is horrible. The sauce was flavorful but the chicken was bland, spongy and dry. It almost looked like cat food with teriyaki drizzled on top. I did enjoy the California roll which was good. When I go back I will stick to the seafood items cus the chicken was awful.

If you haven’t tried it already, I recommend the California salad. Their miso dressing is fantastic, and is sold at other Japanese businesses! Their sushi is pretty tasty, but their chicken bowl is so-so.

Love coming to this sushi place. It’s in the middle of a business park, and kinda out of the way if you don’t work in the area. But the food is fantastic. The husband and wife who run the place are so nice. Love coming here for my lunch break.

Edamame is in the middle of nowhere. It’s the kind of place that all the surrounding business people would go to, but no one would go out of their way for. They have relatively cheap and simple meals here. The menu is comprised of bowls, salads, and chicken teriyaki, which I think they make in a microwave. I got the spicy tuna shrimp avocado bowl, which was around $ 7.95. They give you a lot of rice and plenty of sushi to eat it with. There’s also sriracha and soy sauce available. I used the sriracha to make my bowl spicier. My boyfriend got the spicy tuna and salmon lunch special, which was a bowl that looked similar to mine, along with a salad. The salad was amazing! I loved the dressing used for it. All in all, I would definitely frequent this place if I worked near here but I don’t think I would ever crave it like OHMY I NEEDTHISRIGHTNOW.
