Being from the east coast, it was always a struggle finding good NYC style thin crust pizza. These guys do it right. Great sauce, great cheese and great people. Only place in Irvine I go for pizza

Great New York style pizza. The slices tasted fresh and were delicious. Yes, lots of grease on the pizza, but that’s why they invented napkins! First time here, and I will be back.

Pizza was really good, and I will definitely be back. We got the 2 slices and drink combo, and we were both happy with our slice choices. I was really loving the buffalo chicken slice I had, and I’m not usually one for trying pizza that is more than cheese and pepperoni! In a quiet shopping center, that is probably crazy busy during the week. We went on a Saturday, and it was easy to get a parking spot.

Great pizza, really think New York crust. Spoke to the owner to learn the trick is duplicating the exact dough of a New York pizza

Why didn’t I try this place earlier? I finally gave into the promo they display on the entrance, 1 slice of pizza and house salad with drink $ 8. With tax it came to $ 8.64. I was pleasantly surprised that you can choose what kind of pizza you want. Most places make you choose between pepperoni or cheese for the lunch special, but not here. For my pizza, I chose the artichoke, and it was delicious. I like that the crust is thin and a little crispy. Very good pizza. What I really liked about the salad as that they prepare it after you order and then they bring it to you in a big bowl. Romaine, tomato, mozzarella, and black olives with ranch dressing. But it was just salad nothing special, maybe next time I’ll pick a different dressing. And there will be a next time because I wanna try the garlic tomato basil. P. s. They have beer! But none for me, I was on my lunch hour :(

Great pizza, nice fresh ingredients you can taste. 100 times better than Sbarro. Salad was also delicious. The garlic knots I received for checking in were nice an warm with a tasty home style marinara sauce. Definitely will return next time I’m in Orange County.

Where can you get pizza by-the-slice in Orange County? It’s so hard to find! In comes Flippin’ pizza and the crowd cheers wildly! There’s a great variety to choose from and they have a few lunch specials, too. The shopping center is packed on weekdays but just park in the back, behind the restaurants & ull be fine. I tried artichoke pizza & a slice of pepperoni. The pep is oily but dab it with a napkin & proceed with your plan to devour the slice. Artichoke was ok, in flavor; large chunks of artichokes garnished the face of my slice & there was a sizable dollop of Flippin’s pizza sauce. It’s probably not going to end up as my fave menu item but that’s ok. Pizzas are made ahead of time and are thrown back into the oven to be crisped up when you order. Crust comes out thin & crispy, pizza piping hot; could you ask for more? Staff is friendly enough for a bunch of guys. :) If you like good food, try the place, you won’t regret it.

In the pizza ghetto of the world, Orange County CA… an edible slice of thin pizza is almost impossible. But Flippin may be your best bet. If you’ve had Knockout in Carlsbad, or pie from their other chain locations it’s the same thing. The employees are nice. The plaza it’s in is not new, but remodeled a few years back. Priced right at $ 2.75 a slice. Get the pesto. In the same plaza on MacArthur and Main with the Carls Jr on the corner.

Flippin did a special today, modeled on the ingredients in a Costco chicken bake – chicken, bacon, cheese… OMG it was good! I’d love to see it on their regular menu.

NY Style pizza(thin and crispy) with great toppings. Can you really define this place any more than that? Does it NEED any more definition than that? Nope. The Pizza is delicious. They have a variety of flavors, and great deals. They have beer on tap, and a couple TV screens(though they are a little on the small side for the distance they are at, so I’m not sure if this is exactly a gameday place) But back to the pizza. They have by the slice + whole pies. salads, appetizers etc… an all around great pizza place. Did I mention it was thin and crispy? If you’re not in the mood for pizza with a fork and knife(Chicago deep dish) Then thin and crispy is THEONLYWAYTOGO, and Flippin’ Pizza does it right. Simple. Hot. Crispy. There isn’t much more you need to know right? Oh, parking is hard during peak hours as this shopping center is close to corporate offices. But going during off peak hours and it’s never a problem.

Came here on a random day for lunch because I always run to 7 – 11 next door for my bosses. The has to be the best pizza I’ve had since Secret Pizza in Vegas(granted, I haven’t been to NYC). I love their pizza and there isn’t one that I don’t love! It is my go-to spot for lunch now because it’s just so quick, easy, and amazing! Their crust is so thin and crispy that I love going to work even more because I get to come here for lunch

I came here with my boyfriend for a late lunch on an afternoon around 3. We got the 2 slice combos — my boyfriend got the buffalo and triboro and I got the buffalo and the artichoke. We both got drinks from the combo, but I just got water anyway. With Unilocal check-in, you also get free garlic knots. The buffalo pizza was really good, but the artichoke was lacking flavor. It just tasted like cheese to me. My boyfriend also enjoyed the buffalo a lot. The garlic knots were lacking flavor and just tasted very doughy. I could barely taste the garlic and there was a lot of oil. The garlic knots came with marinara sauce which was nice. I wouldn’t come out of my way to try this place out, but it was a good quick bite.

So good! Not too thick, not too thin, it was perfect. Toppings were loaded just enough so that the slices still can be eaten by hand. The pizzas are 18″ and cut into 8 large slices. It’s truly a New York Style Pizza. We had a slight hiccup with our order, but the owner quickly took care of it. Thank you M. Everyone was super nice, from the initial call to the picking up of the Pizza.

Came here during lunch on a weekday/workday. The place is filled with barely anywhere to sit. I got the 2 slices + drink combo for $ 6. You can find the coupon online! I also checked in for free garlic knots! The two slices I got were the Brooklyn and the Buffalo Chicken. I thought their pizza was just okay… I’ve had better. The pizza came out pretty quickly though and the garlic knots came after. The dough they used on the pizza was good! The garlic knots were good because they were free, but I don’t think I would’ve paid for them. I was not satisfied with their beverage selection but they had the standard pepsi, diet pepsi, sierra mist and iced. Overall, staff was nice and I have no complaints regarding service or food poisoning. I thought it was pretty pricey considering how I can get a whole pizza for $ 6 at pizza hut with unlimited toppings. but I get the pricing though. The pizza slices were sizable and not puny. Would I come back? Maybe.

Great place to grab a slice of pizza for lunch. They have some tasty combinations of pizza toppings. Service was fast and place was clean. Parking wasn’t too bad to find. Get free garlic knots upon Unilocal checkin.

Flippin’ Pizza is another chain trying to recreate the definitive New York City style pizza experience out west. A colleague of mine adores everything that is NYC and recently read that OC Weekly mentioned Flippin’ Pizza in the short list of Orange County’s best pies. I explained that OC Weekly has the journalism chops of «Penthouse Letters» crossed with Sun Magazine featuring ads for crooked doctors selling medical marijuana licenses but it was no use, we were going to Flippin’ Pizza for lunch. As for me: I am a brimming fan of NYC pizza, but usually only when in New York. The interior is the run of the mill suburban strip mall experience but they keep the place spotless and the service was plenty friendly. They offer the usual suspects in terms of toppings with a few questionable items that would be met with chagrin in the big apple(Buffalo Chicken being A#1). They earned a colossal amount of credit from me for having Stone IPA on tap. $ 8.00 nets you two slices and a soda which in OC is dirt cheap. The slices were ready within 5 minutes. Color me shocked, I was pleasantly surprised with Flippin’ Pizza’s slice of Cheese. The crust was nice and crisp with a chewy mie that soaked up the sauce without getting soggy. The sauce was also noteworthy with lovely notes of Basil in each bite. The cheese melted perfectly and did not clump when you fold the slice(which I may add is the only way to eat a New York slice. Fork and knife? Get out of my face.). What more can you ask for at this price point? I will be the first to admit shock at this 4 star review for a place called Flippin’ Pizza located in west Irvine, this just should not be. Will it compete with Lombardi’s, Denino’s or Di Fara? Well, hell no. But it is 2700 miles closer than any of them so I can grab a slice for lunch. If you are in the area fiending a skinny crusted pie, check Flippin’ Pizza out.

Thin crust pizza. Very new york-ish. I thought I would be disappointed but I really liked it. I bought 4 different type of pizzas for a party and all of us liked each and every one of them. My only wish is that would be more char in the pizza since I like my slides really crispy. Famous for: new york style pizza.

I was in the mood for pizza for lunch so this was the closest pizza joint not named dominos. I finally convinced a co-worker to roll with me since I was so lazy to drive. Its located in the same complex as the 7⁄11 and carls jr on MacArthur Blvd. I asked the cashier what she would recommend and she gave me 3 options. I decided to go with two of them. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was really good. It was not piping hot for some reason but it still tasted really good. There was no grease/oil at all. It had great texture and the chicken on top was extremely tender. The Brooklyn Pizza was just ok. The cashier personally said it wasn’t her favorite but its a popular one on the menu so I went with it. It had a very distinctive taste about it, but I just liked the buffalo a lot more. I’m told the salad is really good too so I have to come back just to try that. Its a nice place to have lunch if you’re ever in the area. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service is chill. They have a different lunch deal each day so always check that out. The price was beyond reasonable so thats definitely a good sign. PS I really wish I had order for there instead of to-go, I’m sure it would have tasted a whole lot better!
