I think those positive feedbacks are not real, food is not authentic at All. The quality is way too bad, we ordered $ 60+ for 6 adults and none of us finished the food. Wasted $$$ !

I have never been more disappointed in my life with a DESSERT, something that should be enjoyed. I walked in, ordered a large hokkaido milk tea(with which the server messed up my order), and immediately threw away the drink as I walked out the door. I felt as if my taste buds had been insulted. I can’t even begin to describe the taste. Think spoiled heavy cream, mixed with artifical sweetener and water. I advise you avoid this dump like the plague.

Unfortunately, I can’t give this more than 3 stars. We ordered a chicken fillet at the OC market after a few bites my friend noticed a hair. I immediately took it back and asked if I could get something else. They apologized and offered to make a fresh one. I was given a refund and ordered the popcorn chicken. Chicken has a good flavor and you can add Cajun seasoning if you like it spicy.

This was a 5 star review but I had to change it to a 3 star because of the chicken cartlage. The first time I got it the chicken cartlage was amazing but this time it had a horrible spoiled chicken taste to eat. Its as if the product was left out to defrost for too long or was set out for a few days before it was sold to me. I originally thought it maybe just one of the pieces but after trying out a few other pieces I had to throw the rest away. The chick fila alone is a 5 star bomb. However this I still have that putrid bad chicken taste in my mouth from the cartlage. Hope its a one time mistake. I will be back again.

Fried food galore! This place offers many of the fried snacks found in Taiwan night markets. Tofu, rice balls, tempura, turnip cake… you name it! To order, you can either tell the cashier verbally your order or fill out the scantron. The scantrons are a little excessive in my opinion and tends to make me over order every time. Last time I was here, my bf and I ordered about $ 20 worth of snacks so I can sneak them into the movies. Hehe. We ordered popcorn chicken, chicken heart, gizzard, tempura, and pumpkin. It came in a really large box, definitely more than just a snack. Everything was fried well and quality was decent, but not the best. Most of the items were lacking in flavor aside from the abundance of salt. I didn’t particularly loved anything, but I usually come here when I want variety. There’s limited seating inside the restaurant but I never had trouble finding a table. They also have outdoor seating provided by the plaza but it is currently under construction. Don’t forget to check in for a free drink! Since we had such a large order, the cashier was nice to let us both check in and get two drinks for free. Overall, this place is great if you are feeling nostalgic and want some Taiwanese snacks!

Came here for lunch today, it was a very pleasant experience. I ordered a chicken filet combo box, it was around $ 9 and it even came with my choice of black or green tea, I got black tea and it was good. only down side was they didn’t allow me to adjust the sweetness of the tea but it came out ok. The combo box itself was very fulfilling, I barely finished it, they even cut up the chicken filet for me. The cashier was friendly and polite, I will make this my regular lunch spot.

I been wanting to try this place for a while since I seen it on my friend’s snapchat. Walking in, mty goodness, I really miss Taiwan. Its been 4 years since Ive gone back so I been having some crazy withdrawals on Taiwanese food. Anyways, in all honesty, I came here thinking I was gonna get a snack before dinner since I was super hungry so I ordered a few things. I really thought the portions would be small. I got green beans, fish cake, chicken hearts, popcorn chicken, tofu, radish cake, and an order of lamb skewers. It came in a big olé box. It ended up being more than enough to feed my date and I for dinner. We were so stuffed. I got medium spicy as to he can’t eat as spicy as I could. Nonetheless it had the perfect kick to it. They also put the right amount of salt and pepper. A lot of other places dont put a lot of spices so there isnt really any flavor but the flavor is most definately pretty bold here. If it werent so far, Id do again: D

It was okay… Wanted to try something new and different… Boy, it was different. Well in a nutshell, everything was deep fried and had that asian 5 spice seasoning all over it. So that being said, everything tasted like that seasoning. Chicken, soft shell crab, calamari, pork chop, mushrooms, chicken intestines… They all had that asian seasoning so everything tasted the same… After 3 – 4 bites i was nauseated with that seasoning. Should have known better because as soon as i stepped in that place it smelled like the 5 spice seasoning. If you like that spice and like it deep fried then this is your spot… My wife made a comment saying that a Big Mac was more appetizing that this place and i would have to agree. Its a decent place for a small snack but dont think you’re gonna be satisfied. Not my spot but give it a try. It might be your spot.

When you take the first bite it’s so good and tasty, but unfortunately everything is seasoned exactly the same. We ordered at least a half dozen items and they were all fried and seasoned the same. It was hard to distinguish the differences. So while the first bite was delicious it was all very one note.

If you’re craving some tasty night market style popcorn chicken, this is a great place. They’ll fry pretty much anything and cover it in that fantastic Taiwanese spice mix– the hot is pretty hot and tastes just like I’ve had in Taiwan! I recommend the popcorn chicken, pigs blood cake and chicken wings, but most things have been good apart from the chicken fillet that was really gristly. I also often get the onion rings. Related: super easy to over-order! You can order with the check box menu, but the cashiers are super friendly. The iced tea is all sweetened, which I didn’t like so much.

The salt pepper chicken here is YUM!!. Great price and tasted very authentic. The pork chop here was not bad too. Came in a huge portion. It had the same batter as the salt pepper chicken. If you check in here you get a free green or black tea. During my visit they were busy the whole time. There was people getting take out or eating in. Since they were busy you know they are GOOOD. It was a very pleasant visit. They have some outdoor seating, so they are pet friendly too. I would definately be back to try some of the other items, like the fried oysters and get more of the salt pepper chicken. HAPPYCHICKENING!

Taiwanese popcorn chicken. yum! The taste is quite authentic and the price is reasonable. I like the original flavor and not so much the spicy ones. Making it spicy takes the taste away. Lots of selections, but the chicken is by far the best!

My husband and I tried a few things, and we only like their popcorn chicken. They open late. A lot of UCI’s students(I presume) come here for late night snacks? It’s easy on the pocket too.

This little shop mimics a night market that offers deep-fried snacks that usually find at the side streets. Cashier was kind of a jerk face. I asked him a question and he laughed at me. Well screw you and your ugly ass man-bun. Popcorn chicken: It was alright. The chicken was kinda dry but the seasoning and spices were pretty on point. They’re medium is spicier than any other medium chicken I’ve ever had. Sweet potato: Very thick slices. These weren’t as seasoned as the chicken even though they were in the same bag. It’s good if I want a yummy snack but I won’t come back if that rude cashier is there.

Seriously LOVE this place! [ORDERING] I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about having to order with the scantrons, but every time I’ve gone in to order, the person at the register greets me and I just order with whoever is there. They take phone orders btw, so if you’re short on time, call in to order and your food will be ready when you get there! [FOOD] I always get the popcorn chicken meal(spicy)– comes with a generous order of popcorn chicken with a container of rice, half a tea egg, and a side of vegetables and seaweed. The meal also comes with a drink(black or green tea). I recommend the green tea! The popcorn chicken is crispy and juicy, and isn’t just fried batter like a lot of other places I go to. [SERVICE] Not much to say about the service– the people at the register are friendly. When they call your order they hand it to you and that’s about it. [TIPS] — Place a phone order to avoid waiting for your food — Minimum $ 10 for credit/debit card Definitely recommend giving this place a shot even if you’re just looking for a snack!

A neighbor gave us a coupon for this place so I decided to try it out. It’s located in the Culver 99 Ranch plaza, right next to Tea Station. The concept is pretty unique: it’s pretty much a glorified Taiwanese fried food street stall turned into a restaurant. xD They also sell some drinks(mostly teas and milk teas), combination meals(bento boxes), and noodle dishes. There are a few tables for dine-in, but it’s relatively small. I loved the various canvas prints on the wall featuring various aspects about Taiwan. There are scantron sheets for placing your order, but you can also just place your order verbally at the register. The scantron sheets are pretty novel though, in my opinion. The display case features an extensive range of different things that can be fried, with prices ranging from $ 2-$ 5 per portion. You can also decide how many orders of each item you want, as well as how spicy you want it. Compared to Taiwan, everything is extremely expensive, but for the U.S., it’s not terrible. I ended up over-ordering out of excitement and spent about $ 25(after tax and tip), but had leftovers. You probably would need to spend over $ 10 to be completely full though, if you are just ordering a-la-carte fried items. In that case, I would recommend a bento box, which comes with a drink. In terms of the food, everything was fried well and the quality was good, but not phenomenal. I did see some scant basil in my bags, but I expected more, especially with popcorn chicken. Some of the items were a bit salty, but I’m sure you can tell them to use less pepper-salt. Finally, in terms of service, the cashier lady was friendly and bilingual, but when I went to pick up my order, there was some sort of mix-up and there were two drinks. I only ordered one drink(the special of the day: milk tea with pudding, and I added boba), but somehow, I was presented with a cup of what I ordered as well as a cup of just plain milk tea with pudding. Confused, I brought it to their attention, and after discussing with the girl I had placed my order with, the second worker took the cup back and said«sorry, you just paid for one.» While I agree that I only paid for one drink and really only wanted one drink, if I hadn’t been so honest and spoken up, I easily could have walked out with both drinks. =P And since they can’t re-sell the extra drink to another customer anyway, it would have been a nice customer service gesture on their part to just let me keep the second drink. But I digress… Anyway, this is a unique place and it’s great if you’re craving those Taiwanese fried foods or want a relatively inexpensive meal w/drink(i.e. bento).

Fried Taiwanese Style Food with Yensu Seasoning and Basil is one of my favorite foods in Taiwan. The store is decorated with an authentic looking cart that looks like it was from the night market streets of Taiwan. They have a /variety of items to choose from to «Yen Su»(fry) similar to the night market stands you will find in Taiwan. It’s always like going to a candy store for me – not sure which one to choose. Their seasoning is on the lighter side. I like mine with heavier seasoning, which you can ask them to customize for you. I ordered mine with heavier seasoning and medium spice(which is pretty spicy) and turns out awesome! Wash down the spiciness with some of that cool winter-melon tea. My favorites are the chicken cartridge, blood cakes, string beans. Least favorite is the gizzards for they get kind of tough/hard. They also sell these packaged noodles that has no preservative and comes with hot sauce that is super good and easy to prepare for busy days.

This place is located next to the baskin robins and tea leaf. The scantron concept of ordering is cute, but I’d rather just tell the cashier what I’d like. The foods that you can select from are displayed in their food case and is quite unappealing looking imo. More than half of the food looks as if they’ve already been deep fried and are just waiting to be refried again. I ended up getting the typical popcorn chicken, mild. Now, mind you, their mild was quite spicy! I must of taken a bite out of the chicken where there was extra spice cause my lips where burning. But oddly, I actually really liked that spicy feeling. I wish my chicken was a bit more crispy, as some pieces were a bit oily. Overall, interesting concept here. I’d come back and try their specials next time I’m in the area. P. s. Really need to fix the soda machine if you’re going to offer a free soda with check-in.

I’ve been wanting to come here since it opened, but didn’t have a chance to until today. I came at 1:30 for lunch. There were a lot of open parking spaces on this side of the plaza. There was no line, but there were a few people seated inside. I ordered on the scantron and then handed it to the cashier. They asked me if it was okay if all my items came in a bag. I thought that was really nice. I kind of just assumed they would put it all in a bag. I ordered and it took a little wait for my food to be ready. It came out really hot! I was happy to know that it was freshly prepared. BEWARE: Mild was pretty spicy. I usually order my food medium spicy, but had a feeling that the food would come out more spicy than anticipated… I was right. If you cannot tolerate spicy food… I would recommend getting no spicy or very little spicy… less than mild… Popcorn Chicken: Good! My favorite out of the items I ordered… which is surprising because I love carbs. The chicken was so juicy. I feel like the portion is smaller than other places, but the quality is better. I had some pretty big chunks of chicken. Turnip Cake: This was good. The outside was crispy and the inside was soft. I would get this again. The portion was pretty big. Rice Sausage: This was okay. Double carbs was a bad idea on my part… but it was hard to resist. I probably wouldn’t order this again since the turnip cake is good. Portion was much smaller than turnip cake. The seasoning was pretty good. I would come back if I ever had fried food cravings.
