They have an amazing staff, though they just started they all know how to satisfy customers. It’s not so different from any other Subway but it’s conveniently located on campus and their free subways for a year is an amazing offer, I’m happy I lined up.

Haters gonna hates. Why are you reading a review of subways? They make sandwiches and they’re all pretty much the same. Only here students make your sandwiches. Does that make it taste better knowing your dorm mate is putting pickles on your sandwich? To me it does! Ahahaha just kidding. Seriously though, we have two subways at uci. Like Quiznos got replaced with another subways. That’s a burrrrrn.

As far as convenience goes, this place is really efficient with their service for moving the line through pretty quick. It’s TINY though — so the line can wind around easily. Luckily, it’s located in BCs so there’s a bit of seating. In terms of quality, it’s comparable to other Subways in terms of toppings. I felt like the bread was soggier though(even after toasted). That and my sandwich wasn’t folded tightly so when I went to pick it up(right after I bought it and sat down so it’s not like it was incubating in its own juices for a bit) it just fell apart. Still yummy though!

I love their Vegetarian subs… My favorite is the footlong Veggie sub on Honey Oat Bread. The servers take the time to add the various condiments, and ensure that the bread is toasted just right. The veggies are fresh. Love the crisp lettuce, spinach, cucumber, onions, black olives and peppers. Oil and vinegar complete the arrangement. Occasionally, I add avocado(and they always get the fresh ones). The place is convenient to access, and the owners keep it quite clean.

This is a good cheap eat for UCI students. $ 5 for a footlong sandwich, which is way better than paying for meh food at whatever cost for other places on campus. The food is just like any regular Subway chain. And I would be more than happy to give other chains 4 or 5 stars. But this one only get 3 stars. Why? because workers are slow and lines are ridiculous. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen a worker take longer than 2 minutes slicing half an avocado… while my sandwich was getting cold.

It gets half of a star because its a subway, and it gets another half star because it does make subway sandwiches. Ingredients are unfresh and employees sometime make the sandwich very sloppily. There are these fruit fly creature things flying around, and the employees act as if nothing is there or wrong. They dont even bother trying to kill the flies. Its pretty unsanitary and unprofessional. You can see the flies breeding all around the glass and the workers are just serving them into your sandwhich as extra protein. Yeah i really dont mind eating it when flies are on it, but come on subway… at least try to cover it up. The last time flies were landing on my food and being served to me was when I was ordering food out of a food cart in a 3rd world country.

Of course if you’re going to a chain you already know what to expect. This subway is just as good as any other subway, food wise. The difference is that it is normally very crowded(probably due to the very convenient fact to UCI students, it being on campus). If you decide to eat here, plan for at least a 10 minute wait for your sub of choice.

RETRAINYOUREMPLOYEES Everyone knows that you choose your vegetables before you choose your sauces. How does your worker ask me to choose my sauces before my vegetables??? Destroyed the flow of my sandwich… for god sakes the steps are on the glass! You would think she would be able to read… –1 star She rings me up… takes off her gloves… decides to cough in THEPALM of her hand to make sure the entire surface of her palm was covered in her nasty GERMY breath… grab my napkin and puts it in my bag… –99999999 stars Might as well wipe your ass with my napkin before handing it to me… thanks

Today was actually my first day trying out the Subway on campus. I’ve kind of strayed away from on campus dining selections because they tend to be not as good as the franchises off campus. Luckily I was able to beat the lunch rush! I ordered a Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken sandwich. For .75 cents more I could have gotten a 5 dollar foot long but stupid me didn’t realize that until after I bought the sandwich. Going down the line was for the most part quick so quick that they forgot to put meat in my sandwich! The girl at the end of the assembly line apologized and added loads of meat for me. My sandwich was okay and this place would have received 3 stars except for that fact that one thing really bothered me about this place. There was a bunch of flies! Not just near the entrance but I saw them flying all over the toppings and the meat section. They should work on getting rid of the flies because it’s really unappetizing to look at. I had a hard time finishing my sandwich because I kept having flashbacks of all the flies hovering around the food.

You can’t go wrong with the featured five dollar footlong of the month! The workers are nice! When it first opened they were slow, but they are pretty fast now. There’s sometimes a long line during lunch but it moves fast. You can’t blame Subway for all the customers to order all the vegetables! Jordan, Samantha, and Ankit were really nice and I hope they make my sandwich every time!

I was excited to have a Subway on the UC Irvine campus because I’m not a big fan of Quiznos. I’ve only actually bought a sandwich here once because the line is always extremely long. If you’re in a rush to go to class, don’t even attempt to come here if its lunch time(11:30a — 2:00p). The workers are OK. They don’t seem to smile all that much but I can’t blame them seeing as how they are all in charge of one thing for probably their entire shift. The one big problem I have about this Subway is that their prices are higher than a regular Subway and I know it’s because it’s on a university. They do have the regular $ 5 footlongs which is always a good deal.

Normally, this place is super packed… If you find yourself during those hours you will probably end up with the sloppiest sandwich ever made… Just a tip, watch them make your sandwich, the workers are always rushed so they tend to throw in very little veggies in your sandwich… if so just ask for more :) the workers there are very friendly! on the plus side, the workers are new so they sometimes overload your sandwich with extra meat! SCORE Overall the food is the same as you would find in any other subway… but i noticed that the non-5 $ footlong are $ 0.25 more expensive than the other subway branches…

Just opened so it is super packed, and workers are slow. It might be my imagination but there might slightly less sandwich selections? I dunno. Food just didn’t seem as tasty as other subways I’ve had most likely from the newness. Oh well 5 dollar foot longs would make up for it, except I don’t get those sandwiches like ever. It was also pretty neato that they gave away 52 sandwiches for a year for the first 50 people. What sucked was that was impossible to get unless you camped out since 4:00pm the day before. Also they put the cheese slices on the correct way. SCORE!
This is the best SUBWAY ever! …and the best restaurant at UCI! haha Okay, that was totally biased, but can you blame me?!? After having lived so long in the Biological Sciences side of UCI, students like me are all starving for real food beyond the usual quesadilla or french fries that BC Cavern offers! Now for only a short walk, I can get a subway for the original price that Subway sets their sandwiches at, and not be like all those other traitor chain food restaurants like Quiznos, Panda Express, etc that jack up their prices! +1 Star: Staying true to the $ 5 footlongs on February & the retail prices! Loading up our sandwiches with toppings, even the deli meats! +1 Star: Clean and organized location(mostly b/c it’s new) +1 Star: Super nice cashiers who really smile at you! For saving us Science & Math kids who are in desperate need of some real food. –1 Star: It’s a Subway… ingredients are already prepped & not exactly high quality deli –1 Star: It gets packedddd sometimes and it’s just not worth the wait for even the biggest bang for your buck on campus. TIP: They close at 5PM, so try coming no later than 4:30 to avoid the rush of starving bio sci students!
