Target Optical

The doctor who works on the weekends is amazing. I forget what her name was but she was super nice, helpful, and informative. I needed new glasses because my old glasses for working at my desk never worked correctly. I was still getting headaches etc. This doctor found that I actually had an astigmatism in one of my eyes that was most likely causing the headaches. Sure enough, got my new pair of Ray Bans (love them) and the headaches are all gone and my eyes have already adjusted to wearing these everyday. I couldn’t recommend this place more. Surprising since you don’t really think about Target for your eye doctor. You won’t be disappointed! Also, if you’re thinking, where the heck is the optometrist… its in the corner by the trash bags. I had no idea it was ther either.

Great customer service! I got my glasses today and my eye exam. The doctor was so kind and she made me feel comfortable despite how awkward it usually is being in a dark room with a stranger looking into my eyes lol The employees were very helpful and explained everything to me. The price is pretty good too

Chris was super helpful with fixing my sunglasses and tightening my loose frames. He made it very easy using my insurance to purchase my contacts. Great and friendly service, I’d definitely come back again!

Great experience! I only picked out frames and purchased lenses here, but did not have my eye exam done (already had prescription from my family optometrist). They have a great selection of frames, and are way more affordable than a place like Lenscrafters. I dealt with two different people, one when I initially went in to pick out and purchase frames, and another when i went in for pick up. Both staff members were very friendly.
I personally didn’t mind that no one helped me choose a frame, because I could go all day making sure I’m buying exactly what I want! But they were a little busy the day I went in to choose, so I took my time searching for the perfect pair.
When I received my glasses, about 6 business days later, I was very pleased with my purchase. They followed the prescription I gave them exactly, and the frame was exactly what I had ordered. I will be returning to Target for my future specs!

I love this Target Optical Center. I won’t go anywhere else. I have gone here for years and now have taken my teenage daughter who needed contacts. Dr. Ciobanu was so patient and kind. Chris and Kim were awesome in the contact lens training for her. Chris put her right at ease. Didn’t rush her. He made sure we had plenty of lenses to get us thru until hers would be shipped to our home. Both went out of their way to make it an exceptional experience. Rare these days in customer service. Private optometrist are so expensive, even with insurance. You will get the biggest bang for our buck and be treated well.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. The doctor is very friendly and easy going — knows how to conduct a relaxing yet productive appointment. The staff is always helpful and attentive. Marissa helped me find out which insurance plan I’m on by sitting on the phone with the provider. I was very impressed and once again satisfied with Target Optical.

I don’t think they know what at appointment means. 30 minutes later and still can’t be seen. Just adds salt on the wound when their systems are hacked.

Exceptional service!!! I’ve purchased glasses here a few times. I bought a pair about a year ago, and Mark (dunno if he’s still around) was amazing. Picked out the perfect pair for my face.
When I came here about a month ago, I was ordering another pair to spend my flex spending money. The girl (wish I remembered her name) was also great. Helped me get the best deal possible, and was so nice.

I got a great deal on my glasses. $ 99 for frames and lenses with a $ 200 purchase of contact lenses. EXCEPT the lens coating started to peel about 6 months after I got them. I’ve never had that before. See photo.
Target said that the warranty didn’t cover this, but I could get a deal to buy replacement lenses for $ 113. Of course, I don’t want the same brand of peeling lenses again. I was assured that my specific lens is no longer stocked. Hmm. I wonder why? Peeling coating perhaps! I’m not happy about the sub-​standard lenses.
This review has no relationship to the resident optician. She is very good. Target Optical is run as a separate prescribing store.

Had a question regarding contacts and the staff member was efficient and answered my question. Prices seemed lower here that other competitors and it was well kept and organized. Didn’t know they were there until I walked right past, perhaps Target should do a tv spot or two :)

Very helpful and professional staff. Was in there and out in about 30 minutes and really liked the way I was treated. The Dr was very smart and the staff helped me pick out glasses that would look well and were rugged enough for my lifestyle. Prices were very good and they also billed my insurance company. Would highly recommend them to friends and family.

After costco denied my colored contact prescription (they don’t have sterling grey in stock) I ordered contacts through the phone and faxed the prescription over to Target. Man who ordered them for me (Chris) was extremely friendly and helpful. Followed up and called in a timely manner and assisted me with all my concerns.
Picked up contacts a week later and now CLEARLY see that this is the place to be!

I made an appointment for me and my boyfriend for and eye exam and we both saw Dr. Ciobanu. She was very nice and let us sit in on each others exam. She had up to date technology in her office and made us feel very comfortable. Each of us had different questions and she was more than willing to answer them. I was really glad that I came to her and would recommend her to anyone.
The target frame selection is somewhat limited, I was able to find a nice frame for my eyeglasses, but my boyfriend did not. He was however, able to order his contact lenses with no issues. We were assisted by Adam, who was very friendly and helpful. The time frame for the glasses and lenses to come in is 7 days, possible sooner.

It was the end of the year and I needed to use my eye care insurance before 2012. I was visiting friends in Irvine for the weekend and they recommended Dr. Ciobanu at Target Optical. My friends are long time patients and highly suggested that I go to her.
I gave her office a call to see if I could come in an hour later, and she had availability. So I walked into Target and quickly found the Optical center. Dr. Ciobanu’s office is extremely clean and has the latest technology with new machines/​equipment. She greeted me with a friendly smile and told me to come back to one of the rooms with the fancy equipment. My exam was very thorough, quick and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Ciobanu. I asked her many questions and she was patient and very knowledgeable.
I also checked out the sales area where they had various frames and sunglasses. All reasonably priced and the staff was very helpful.
Even though I live in Los Angeles, I would be willing to come back again! Might as well make a trip out of it… visit with friends, eye exam, and 85C Bakery!

The regular optometrist was not in, but that’s OK since Dr. Lee was very nice and good. My mistake was planning for an hour — try like over 2! They were so busy that the counter people neglected to tell me that I could not get a wrap frame with the filter that I was getting, so I had to start all over again in selecting a frame (when I had just taken 45 minutes to do so).
The frame selection is a bit limited, but for the price and purpose that I need them, the glasses should be fine. (They take my insurance — MES, so I can’t complain)!

Last year I came to Target Optical and had my first eye exam with Dr. Ciobanu. I liked her so much I decided to come see her again. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that now she takes VSP for the exam. Like my last experience the doctor is very kind and helpful. My eyes have been bothering me lately because of long hours in front of the computer and she answered all my questions and gave me advice some eyedrops to try and some coupons for some.
Her staff was friendly as usual and also very helpful. Target usually has some type of promo going on with the glasses or contacts. If you buy a year’s supply of contacts you can currently get a $ 15 Target giftcard. Nice.
I would definitely recommend Dr Ciobanu and Target Optical to anyone! They are awesome!

I am never going to this optometry again. Beyond shady if you ask me. I have never before been charged for an eye exam without receiving the actual exam documents e. g what my prescription is. I was given my glasses prescription but never my contac lens.
I won’t disagree with the other reviewers that their staff are really friendly and I was able to get a refund because I am very unsatisfied with their practices, but overall, not a good experience.

I just recently tried the new Target optical and was very impressed. The doctor was extremely friendly, knowledgable and willing to take the time to answer all my questions. They even had contact lens trials in stock so I didn’t have to wait for them to be ordered. They have a large frame selection and extremely helpful and personable staff. And the best part was the entire eye exam was only $ 58! I would definitely recommend them to everyone!

Sooo, l’m shopping at Target and found out they have a new Optical ! What can’t you get at Target !?
Went in and Doctor Ciobanu was super nice. Her equiptment was cutting edge. Never seen anything like that at other offices. I felt I was definetly getting my money’s worth. The frames were cool too, I got two pairs. I would definetly recommend this place based on convenience, affordability and great staff.
