Dishonest business and rude sales. If they are not honest with the weight, how can you be sure they are honest with their products? Like many have said, CHECKTHEWEIGHTBEFOREYOUPAY, especially if you pay with credit card. I asked for ¼ lbs, they stuffed me with 1 lbs almost. I found out right there when I was signing the receipt. They told me they could only refund me if I pay cash. As you can tell, I will never ever return. You all, please do not just enjoy the products and encourage this kind of dishonest business by giving them 4 or 5 stars. They have got to change!!!

Though I love the jerky from this place, I have to say it could be a lot cheaper. A pound of jerky costs about $ 25. So if you’re buying a variety of things from there, it’s easy to leave the door spending about $ 90. Also, you have to walk into the store with confidence and know what you’re going to buy. The ladies that work there will try to push you to buy things that you don’t need. Take the samples they offer you, pay for your stuff, then book it.

Like all the other Vua Kho Bo, these people are extremely pushy sales tactics. I have experienced plenty of Asian sales tactics but this company continues to be the MOST offensive! If you ACT like you are selling to save your LIFE, people will want it LESS. It may seem like you are pushing old and expired product. LESS is MORE in this case. Take it easy.

This place is amazing for those who want to get authentic ethnic snacks from Taiwan. It’s also a good place to experience interesting sale tactics in Taiwan.

The selection of dried fruits is amazing! While it’s a bit pricey, you know it’s quality stuff. Yum!

Vua Kho Bo is a great Asian beef jerky/dried plums store. Coming from Atlanta, we don’t have stores with fresh beef jerky, so when my mom walked into Vua Kho Bo, she was like a kid in a candy store. They have containers and containers full of various dried fruits, pickled plums(wet and dry), beef jerky, dried squid, and some candy. These make for great party appetizers or things to snack on in general. The sales woman didn’t need to do much convincing with my mom — whatever she suggested, my mom ordered a bag full of it. Though, I would have to say they are rather good sales people. My favorite thing here was the sour plum powder, or what I call Asian crack. Seriously, my family puts this on everything we eat like it is no one’s business. On top of pineapple, on top of bitter melon… the list goes on.

Guy is nice but his wife could be a little more friendly rather than stare like she hates us? But she warmed up in the end. Awesome stuff. A tad pricey but pretty kool finds here. They gave samples too

I will not go to this store again. I was looking for a certain kind of dry mango in that store. They show me the procuct and told me this is the one I am looking for. I found out it wasn’t after I broght it home. I purched another kind of dry plum, they charged me $ 14 instead of $ 9 by mistake.

I absolutely LOVE their pickled plums, the dark green ones are my fave(a bit more crisp and sour compared to the yellow ones). I go in weekly because I’m simply addicted to them. The boyfriend enjoys the sugared prunes, they make my face cave in though o. O quite a pucker on those things, even if they are«sugared»! Heads up, this store is a bit pricey. The pickled plums for example are 10.99 a pound and their bbq baby squid(My dog loves em too!) are also 11.99. If you’re looking for cheaper snacks, try going to the market(99 Ranch) in the same plaza. The supermarket has a small variety of pickled and jerky products. Be sure to tell them exactly how much you want, they do often try to fill the whole bag, and at roughly 10 $ a pound, that’ll kill your wallet. They haven’t been AS pushy with me, but I think it’s because the boyfriend speaks Mandarin and he’s pretty firm about what he does and does’t want. 10.00 Min. on credit card purchases.

We were afraid of their scary sales tactics, but we are addicted to their products. This time, we know exactly what we want and how much we want. The old guy is still very friendly, but this women behind the cashier machine has totally different facial expression than last time. Last time we were the suckers that says«okay» to everything, she looks more friendly then and this time, we were more strict about how much we really want, her face is not so friendly anymore and never invite us to try out anything anymore. I wish they can just act normal, like normal friendly, your stuff is d*mn good, you don’t need to be pushy! Isn’t that makes both of us happily ever after?

In English, this place is called«Jerky King.» It’s a place that sells various Chinese/SE Asian Snacks including pickled plums, squid jerky, glazed pecans, among others. As you walk in, the sales rep swarm you and try to hustle you to buy things. They give you a bunch of free samples. Most of the snacks are confusing to someone who isn’t used to these kinds of snacks(ME lol), so I recommend going with a friend who speaks Mandarin. It’s also funny how every snack in there supposedly helps cure some sort of allergy, incurable disease, or pimples on your face. In the end, and after all those free samples, I caved and ended up getting some square herbal thingies that you can make into tea when it’s hot, and Jelly when it’s cooled. I only wanted to get 6 dollars worth, but there is a $ 10 credit card minimum so one of the sales rep just ended up tacking $ 4 more without even asking me. He goes«Ok, ok just add dees much and it ten dollaaa ok?» Hahaha kinda funny how much they hustle you… but then not really. My friends got some glazed pecans which were pretty good and a minty tasting pickled fruit which was… interesting. I think i’ll go back sometime to get some squid jerky.
