I like the variety of ethnic foods. The produce could be fresher and the place could be a little cleaner. I want to come back and try their food but overall great selection.

Great food with grocery store aside makes it more convenient and sandwiches are the best to go for as there are more than filling

The meat guys in the back, fabulous! The crowds can get a little agitated after work hours when everyone is trying to take fresh meat home for dinner, but they handle it well. They cut my meat the way I request and always with a smile. They have everything from Hookah tabacco to freshly baked bread to a small counter where you can take a hot meal to go. Teeny market but tons of stuff in there. Cashiers are a hit or miss. Sometimes you’ll get the friendly ones, other times there is a bunch of scanning, not one word and then just the total. o_O It suffices for what I need it for, so I keep going back, but there are other marketplaces to choose from that are a bit further if I feel like driving.

Their baskets are always filthy. I have a hard time getting myself to touch the handles. The whole place smells really bad and their cashiers are not at all personable. It’s one of the only Mediterranean grocery stores in the area but I wish they would take a little more pride and clean up the place.

I used to frequent this place a lot, but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. With so many other ethnic markets close by with greater variety and better prices, it gives Super Irvine some tough competition. Their mountain high yogurt 32oz is on sale for $ 1.99. Great deal right? Except for the fact that ALL varieties of their mountain high yogurt expire November 17… which is tomorrow! So not so great deal after all :). Sorry Super Irvine– I will not return anytime soon.

Highly recommend dinning here or ordering take out. Perfect place to get groceries and get a yummy meal. They just recently added a little café/kitchen with a cute cozy seating area. Since they opened i have been there numerous times to eat their delicious Tachin! Not many Persian restaurants serve tachin and this is by far my favorite. Their make theirs vegetarian and add a skewer of juicy chicken shish kabob next to it. Their portions are huge and prices are very reasonable! Definitely try this next time you are there. They have a full menu of kabobs, stews and mixed rices! Go.Go.Go! You don’t know what you are missing.

I wandered into this supermarket looking for a quick bite. I was pleased to see that it is a international supermarket with middle eastern foods. There is a separately operated take-out food business inside which I found to be fair. I ordered a lamb sandwich which was edible but dry and tasteless. But I did pick up a bag of avocados and a large taftoon(Persian flatbread) that were both reasonably priced. I would definitely go back here when in the area.

Not that great when compared to Ansar Tustin. Better than Wholesome Choice price-wise I shop chicken here which is fresh and green leavy veggies. Rest do fine n not that great. Place is very small and its best you go in & come out fast…

Lousy customer service. When I went to return a box of dry and spoiled(with worms) dates the unfriendly manager lady first asked for receipt and then found the price of 24.99 next to «nut» and not dates. So she commented that they have not charged me. Then she asked the cashier who said they consider the dates as nut on the receipt!!! They returned the dates and not a one word of apology. Place is below average in cleanliness but cheap and have ethnic food so people go to shop anyway. Just be aware of quality and freshness.

Pros: lots of international and interesting choices. A good place to bring non Persian friends to find Persian snacks. Sometimes there are good deals on produce. Cons: chaotic organization, cramped store

Nice small market. They need bigger space. Can find pretty much everything. Parking is sometimes stressfull. Prices are reasonable compare to their competetors. They need to make this place more fun to shop.

Super Irvine is one of the older Persian markets in the area, same owners as the one in mission Viejo. Unfortunately with all the competition in the area now(Farm Direct, Ansar, Zion, 99 ranch, wholesome choice), this place seems a little small with not as much variety. Still, its a good place to pick up a few things here and there and I always love the fresh sangak bread. They also have halal meats in the meat department. Just shows you how much Irvine has grown, there are just as many ethnic grocery stores as traditional American grocery stores.

— Locale Destination — It’s on Culver Dr and 5 freeway in Irvine. It’s in a big shopping center right off 5 freeway. It’s right next to «Kaya»(decent Korean restaurant). I assumed it was either«Chinese» or «Korean» market at first due to the cheesy name«Super» Irvine. lol. They often do that due to the inaccurate«translation»?! lol. It’s actually like a little«Wholesome Choice Market» on Culver(by 73 freeway) — middle eastern supermarket, not Korean market. lol. I could see it right away due to the clientele and the product lines. Middle Eastern markets tend to have cheap and big fresh produce sections, good meat section, various breads and unique merchandises in general. This applies to here, too. This market seemed a little outdated and dingy unlike«Wholesome Choice Market» and/or their website. The décor is simple and nothing special. The staff were nice and friendly. They have a little seating area on the left side of establishment. Deli seemed to serve some food there?! It was closed, so I don’t know. Parking could be tough. Avoid the lunch/dinner time since they are surround by bunch of restaurants. — Gluttony Expedition — Fresh produce: Wide varieties and decent price. I felt«Wholesome Choice Market» seemed a bit cheaper than here. Meat: Long line. Jams: more than strawberry and orange. Rose and interesting berries etc. Juices: all kinds of juices — mango, coconut, some tropical fruits and peculiar fruits etc… Snacks: All kinds of cookies, cakes etc. Breads: Various«lavash» and more. Daily: Cheese, yogurt, milk etc. Tea: Various Lots of middle eastern stuff: Rice, beans, seasonings etc. — Conqueror’s Deduction — If you needed something«middle Eastern» or fresh produce cheaply, you don’t need to go all the way to «Wholesome Choice» ;p It could be the decent alternative, though I like the fresh lavash at «Wholesome». The quality of fresh produce seems better than Asian markets, though Asian markets are a little cheaper than here. Try something different here! They have lots of «interesting» looking stuff…

They have new look and extended interior. they also have new food section which reminds me 1985’s middle eastern restaurant ;) I dont think will survive long time. I gave them 4 stars because they have a good selection of fruit and vegies. But not same thing about their cashier and managers. not smiling at all.

Weird! It seems that the Disappearing Review Fairy has struck my profile again! Unilocal should really get this fixed but alas, I don’t think anyone in HQ actually ever responds to feedback so I will write a new review and back it up to I have been shopping at Super Irvine for probably 9 years now. It is a great Mom & Pop type local supermarket. They have a very large selection of produce that honestly outdoes a lot of the chains. Where else can you find 5 different kinds of squash, multiple varieties of parsley, half a dozen or more peppers, and more. Their produce prices beat every grocery store hands down and are often cheaper than Costco when you factor in the bulk pricing. The meats are always fresh. The chickens are slaughtered and delivered fresh the same day. I love chicken thighs. Their prices range from $ 1.99 to $ 2.29 /lb for boneless, skinless chicken thighs. That is better than every other place I have been too. They also carry all the ethnic staples you’d find in an ethnic grocery store. They have grilled eggplant(ie bababganoush), humus, and grape leaves. They carry Boar’s Head meats and cheeses in their deli. They make fresh breads like their Sangak bread which is amazing when it is piping hot. In their checkout lines, they also stock the really high quality Lindt Dark Chocolates like the 85% and 90% that I absolutely love. If you are a fan of European chocolates, they carry those too and from time to time they even stock Smarties chocolates! Their prices on dried fruits and nots are amazing as well. I usually pick up at least a pound each of dried mango, dried pineapple, dried bananas, and various nuts and seeds. If you are on a diet such as Paleo you will find a wide variety of fruits and vegetables as well as lean meats here to keep your palate refreshed instead of the same-old, same-old stuff you find at the big chains. There is also a large section devoted to various cheeses such as the Armenian String cheeses or the multiple varieties of Feta Cheeses(yeah there are more than one from the standard Arabic to the goat cheese variety and everything in between). They even carry items from other ethnic groups outside the middle east. Their freezers have many other goods — even mexican coke! This place is definitely worth a visit! Once you shop here, you will stop going anywhere else!!! :-)
