We were sitting for 20 minutes and nobody came to take our order The 3 stars is only for the food and live music. Quality of service used to be much better.

The food was less than ok. Our food was cold and dry. I ordered the lamb which lacked flavor and was extremely dry. The kabobs were just as bad. The entertainment was ok. Over priced for mediocre food. Won’t be back.

Horrible food. I tried this restaurant last year and it was horrible. This year, my son wanted to go there so I thought may be after one year they have got their act together. BTW, The server was excellent. She tried to accommodate our order but she said the kitchen do like do this and that. My wife and I are vegetarian and my son is not. So he ordered Soltani. We tried to order some thing that has no meat like fish but replace fish with vegetable. This simple order could not go though kitchen because as the server indicated, kitchen do not like to replace things. I guess they forget that is it not the kitchen that pays the bill! Soltani was terrible. Kobideh was so bad that my son got sick the day after. Well that was enough to remember for another couple of years for not to go there.

So far I have been here twice and had a marvelous time. Service– The waiters and waitresses you can tell are busy, very nice people except it takes a long time for them to get to your table for even the minor things like water. Food– I just am a sucker for juicy meat and rice. Both times my meal was cooked perfectly. I have gotten the chicken Koobideh and the filet mignon. The hummus as an appetizer does not disappoint if you like hummus, it tastes home made. For dessert we had the pistachio ice cream with saffron and it was amazing, would definitely return just for that alone. Atmosphere– Really fun after 7:30, there is live music and belly dancers. I do feel at one point it was too loud, I mean I get it, its live music but for me it started to give me a headache towards the end of the night. A lot of fun however, just too loud for me.

Worst Persian restaurant ever! We ordered takeout and received such a tiny portion compared to what we normally get when eating at the restaurant. We were so disappointed when we got home and opened the container we called them and employee just said there’s nothing he can do about it and didn’t even apologize. We were then transferred to a manager who told us she could give us a store credit to make it up to us… we’ll see if this is true.

Very few cuisines in the world compete with Persian and very few Persian restaurants in Southern California can compete with Caspian. Then why only 3 stars, you might ask? Well… Too bad for the burnt ghorme sabzi. I stopped there on a night when someone in the kitchen screwed up this otherwise amazing dish… and it saddened me that it still went out to the dining hall. This is a place that my family and I now for the delicious food… and my opinion on this place will never change just because they had one shitty night, but for all the people who were there for the first time and have had that dish — they will never come back. Whoever said«meh, it’s good enough, let’s ship it» did a grave disservice to this establishment. I love caspian. I love it as a vegan and I especially loved it before ditching meat. This place will forever be close my my heart and belly and I highly recommend it to every new diner and foodie. The live music thing… it kind of makes the experience cheaper. But that’s just me.

I went with my family here because i had heard a lot about it and my sister wont shut up about the food. Honestly, i was expecting better than what i experienced. Firstly we had to wait for what seemed like forever to get a table and after getting it 2 hours later no one was there to attend us. After food we asked the manager to compensate for the long wait in the form of a discount in our receipt but the lady incharge, told us that we were«lucky» to even get a seat and that we should be «grateful» for it, as if they were giving us food for free. The two stars are solely for the level of entertainment and the food. The working crew is terrible!

I’ve mostly been here for the hookah lounge but you can also order great food in here. They have great quality hookah frequent coal changes and amazing food. You’re never left with empty water glasses or dull coals. Their specialty drinks have always been satisfying as well. They’re always extra friendly, it’s rarely over crowded, the music is great, and they have belly dancers later in the day.

Good food, good ambience, and consistent. Probably more of s 3 ½. Food is generally good. I love their lunch buffet, even though had dinner tonight. Their lunch buffet actually used to better — they had beef steak kabob, along with ground beef and chicken breast kabob, but not the steak kabob any more. Otherwise still good.

Caspian has a $ 15.99AYCE lunch buffet that comes with soft drinks and tea. I came here with some co-workers to wish farewell to some employees that were heading back home overseas. Some of the items in the buffet that I sampled included the following: Salad bar Hummus Baba Ganoush Beef Souvlaki Beef Fajitas Beef Koobideh Chicken Koobideh Chicken Kabobs Sambosa Persian Rice Sauteed Fish Vegetarian fesenjan stew(made with walnuts and pomegrante) Chili with Chicken Sausage Desserts(Custard, Jello, Rice Pudding, and Tiramisu Cake) On the plus side, there are a lot of things to choose from. The only negative is that the buffet food is just ok. The reason being is that the food is served in trays that are being heated. Unfortunately this is the reason why the meats will dry up. This is why I tend to avoid Persian buffets when possible. The chicken koobideh and kabobs were not juicy and instead were a little dry. The beef items weren’t as dry. If I had to pick one really good dish at this buffet, it would be the beef souvlaki. It was juicy, tender and had good flavor. Another dish that I really liked was the fesenjan stew. I’ve typically had this dish with chicken. I sampled most of the desserts and the one that I liked the most was the rice pudding. Although it was quite a bit sweeter than the Indian version. The tiramisu cake was dry and disappointing. The ambiance is great here as the main hall can accommodate nearly 300 people. The smaller hall can easily fit another 60 people. So this is a great place to go with a large group. Whenever I have ordered from the non-buffet menu, the food has tasted great and fresh. The kabobs are juicy and taste wonderful. Expect to pay a premium for the food, unless you go with the cheaper buffet items. Although $ 15.99 isn’t that reasonable for lunch, it’s an ok option when one has a large group to entertain.

This is review is just based on the little hookah room they have right before the main restaurant. It’s a very cozy little place and the service is really great. They are very good about checking on the coals ! The best part … Bottomless tea cups ! the servers are very quick to refill empty tea cups with hot tea ! The hookah is smooth and the flavors are great ! They also do have belly dancing shows around 9ish . The hookah area also has food, the same menu basically as the restaurant. The food is really great and enough for two people to share.

Came here last night for my mom’s birthday. We didn’t know what to expect on a Sunday night, but were pleasantly surprised that there was live music and belly dancing. Our server was very helpful and even was able to coordinate the live band to sing happy birthday to my mom while bringing out sweets with a candle. Overall great service and good entertainment. The only thing was the salmon kabob had mini bones in it and wasn’t marinated properly and it wasn’t just mine, it was also my aunt’s order. The chicken was marinated to perfection so my mom was pleased. Either way will always come back because this place is a staple in OC.

I came here for a birthday and they were nice to split the bill up into smaller groups so that it was easier to pay. Brownie points for that. I was starving and you know what tastes extrememly good when you’re starving? Their bread with sesame on top. Oh, and you can’t forget the butter. They kinda had a pretzel taste to them but I scarfed down a good few since dinner took a while. Anyway, I ended ordering the beef and chicken koobideh which also came with rice and a grilled tomato. The meat were really tender and easy to cut through, but lacked flavor. The rice however was really fluffy and had some great flavor that wasn’t overly salty. I ended up dunking my meat into the hot sauce(which was actually quite spicy!) which gave it a nice little marinade. P. S. They also had belly dancers that comes around and dances beside your table. Feel free to join in on their dance floor! Live band, but super loud!

I recently revisited Caspian with my fiancé and we absolutely loved it! He’s a big fan of Persian food, which I really appreciate :) This place has some of the best kabobs I’ve ever had and also has a wonderful ambiance(big, open banquet hall type feel). During the evenings they even have live performances, but we visited during lunch on a weekday. They do have a lunch buffet, but we opted for the a la carte menu options. We shared: –Kabob koobideh(comes with saffron rice and grilled tomatoes and veggies) –Chicken kabob(also comes with saffron rice and grilled tomatoes and veggies) –Ghormeh Sabzi — my fiancé had never tried this staple dish, so it was a nice experience for him and we both loved it. Definitely one of my favorite restaurant ghormeh sabzi experiences of all time. For those who don’t know, ghormeh sabzi is a stew containing meat(chicken, lamb or beef), parsley, cilantro, and kidney beans. It’s a staple dish in Persian cuisine. –Tadeeg — we asked for tadeeg on the side and the tadeeg was just perfect! As a lover of tadeeg, I can eat that stuff any time of day. And I prefer it crispy! Caspian certainly delivered. Everything was great about this place — delicious food, lovely ambiance/décor, and quick service. What a lovely place to dine! I highly recommend it and would certainly visit again if I’m ever in OC and craving Persian food in the future.

I came here a couple of weeks ago as my husband was playing(keys) with one of the band members. I didn’t have a table reserved, so I just hung out at the bar with a friend that had joined us. The bartender, Ali(?), was AWESOME and more than attentive even though he was busy the entire night! He even stopped to help me choose something from the menu since it was my first time eating at a Persian restaurant. We finally decided on the beef soltani, which was enough for a friend and I to share AND have leftovers to take home. Did I mention the kabobs were tender and DELICIOUS?! I will definitely have to go back for the food even if my husband isn’t subbing again! Especially since he ate my leftovers without me knowing!(typical)
