Blow Blend & Extend Salon

Disappointed, what was originally outstanding service and hair design fell short for follow through. I tried numerous times to make a follow up appt with my stylist and owner. After 2 weeks of a run around, texting, calling, and not being able to schedule I went else where. I don’t feel I should have to hound someone to give them my business. It’s unprofessional and plain bad manors and disrespectful to the customer.

I have went to barber shops and some salons throughout Irving and Dallas. I am very happy I found this place on a whim. At first, I was not sure if it was a blow dry bar only, found out that this salon offers an array of services. Within the last few months I have been trying to get a haircut similar to Brad Pitt in the Fury movie. I have shown photos to different barbers and they never once got it correct. I got my hair cut here by Lisa, who I believe also owns the salon. I showed her a photo of the haircut I wanted and she got it spot-​on. It only took about ²⁵⁄₃₀ minutes. She was very friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and I felt accommodated. I am definitely returning. They have a customer loyalty program which was neat, too. All in all a great experience. One tip: I tried calling a bunch before I stopped in but learned you can also text the business number if all else fails.

This salon is now under new ownership/​management. I was looking for a men’s haircut and a little color to cover some gray. Made an appointment, showed up on time, and we stayed on schedule. The salon is clean and looks nice, well equipped, and a good stock of product. Christine took her time in discussing how I would like my haircut to look, and she and Lisa consulted on the understated color to cover my gray on the sides. So, I got a nice cut and soft color, then shampoo and final styling, and it looked great! I then went for a quick manicure and buffing. Easy check out, overall a nice experience, fair prices, wonderful salon, and Lisa and Christine were true professionals. I certainly plan to be back, and I highly recommend!!!

I received a Brazilian Blowout and hair cut from blow blend and extend salon almost 2 weeks ago and was waiting to write this review after I washed my hair a few times to truly see the results. I must say I am extremely satisfied! I had a Brazilian blow out done a little over a year ago at a very expensive salon in Las Colinas and was not impressed with the immediate results… I even bought the specific Brazilian blowout shampoo that the expensive salon recommended and I just didn’t feel like either it was done correctly or the product wasn’t right. I was hesitant to go back and even try a different salon in the area. Blow blend extend offers their Brazilian blowout for the fraction of the price so I decided to give it a shot. Lisa was extremely work-​able on scheduling a time and both her and Christine were a joy to be around. They made me comfortable but at the same time that I was truly receiving professional treatment. I can honestly say I have never been happier with my hair and will be returning for all of my beauty needs!

I recently had an appointment with Christene for hair color. I’ve had several less than stellar experiences with salons in the Irving area but this wasn’t one of them. We discussed at length what I wanted before she even touched my hair, and consulted the pictures I brought in several times to make sure the color was correct. Christene was so concerned with making sure my color came out correctly she first dyed hair extensions to test the color. I was very impressed with both her services and the general cleanliness of the salon. I would recommend Christene for any service you might require.

I’ve made appointments TWICE, and both times they flaked out. The first time i kept calling to confirm my appointment and no one would answer during business hours or return my voicemail. I show up on the day of my appointment and they were CLOSED, didn’t even bother to inform me to tell me that they wouldn’t be in! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Second time i receive a text message from Lisa (the new owner) 30 min before my appointment asking if it is possible for me to reschedule. Um no, it is not possible. i needed to have my hair done that day. Now where am i going to find another stylist last minute without an appointment?!
I won’t be going back to them again.

Well I won’t have to go back to this place again. They are consolidating with the Highland Park location so this location will close down. They decided to tell me today two days away from my birthday dinner when I had made my appointment. I can’t drive all the way to Highland Park, I don’t have enough time.
Additionally, last time I went and got my haircut with Stephanie, she ended up making one side of my hair longer than the other. I was the only one who noticed to my friends until I pointed it out. Of course when I got my haircut at another salon the stylist noticed and asked where I had got my haircut before. Lastly, they charged me $ 20 more than what I had been charged with Chris Castro so I knew that day I would not be back. I guess a lot of guests have been unhappy with this location now that they are consolidating locations.

I had bought their Brazilian Blow out Deal, since my hair is very curly and unruly. Saying that I have gotten Brazilian blowouts done for at least 10 – 15 times, so I figure I would try them out. I had Liz, she spent about 2.5 hours on my hair, and I was very dissatisfied with my results. I had called the salon and told them what I was experiencing and I spoke to the owner, Chris Box. He took time out to listen to my troubles, and rescheduled me to come back in and do another Brazilian Blowout. I was at first un-​easy because I didnt want to face Liz again, but when I came to the salon she sat me down and asked about my experiences, and gave me an alternative option of a different type of Brazilian Blowout. I had Sarah working on my hair, and they knew I had a time crunch, because I had to be at a wedding in two hours, so Liz ended up helping Sarah with my hair. Both ladies did an excellent job on my hair, and Liz has called to follow up since. I think that was very kind of them to follow up with me to see how my hair was.
The staff is very nice and everyone I have seen their has been very happy. I would definitely recommend this salon to everyone.

It was $ 75 for my «long hair» cut, which my fiancé later told me wasn’t strait in the back. I didn’t feel my stylist was experienced enough to justify the price.

Let me say this first: i am very picky about my hair because I’ve been coloring my own hair for a while so I have a good idea of what I’m doing and what shouldn’t be done with my hair. I don’t have enough words to say about how amazing my hair is after seeing Stephanie H. for my color services. She is an absolute miracle worker. I used to have really boring hair but after talking to her and giving her a little information about me I told her to go for whatever would look awesome! She turned my hair into a beautiful red to blonde ombré and gave me a cut that fits my face so perfectly. If you’re going to get services done at blow, blend & extend, ask for Stephanie H., you won’t be disapointed! She is a doll and knows exactly what she’s doing with hair!

I made an appointment here a week in advance, and showed up ten minutes early to sign in. I was made to wait well over an hour past my appointment time before even getting my hair washed. The lady who did my hair rushed through it and did such a poor job because they were nearing closing time at this point. I couldn’t really tell how uneven everything was while I was there because she had «styled» it to be so poofy. I will not be returning.

Let me preface this review by stating that I think Castro did a good job on my color and cut. I previously had color treatment at a different salon that I was not too happy with. I found Blow, Blend, & Extend through Unilocal and it was close to where I live. I decided to give it a try and found that my color consultation with Castro was a welcoming one so I decided to schedule a color re-​do with him. I was happy that he was able to tone my hair color down.
A week ago was my second visit with Castro. I decided to do a partial highlight and cut with him. He was telling me about how he’s been busy doing hair extensions and even showed me a picture of a client who he did a recent hair extension on. I guess he was maybe marketing that service to me? Anyhow, I left my appointment pleased with my hair and scheduled for my next visit with him in advance. About 10 minutes after I left I received a call from his receptionist advising me that the morning time slot was no longer available due to another appointment. I thought it was odd since I was standing there when she scheduled and remember seeing that appointment time available on the computer screen. I didn’t make a big deal and just took another time that he had available.
This morning I received a call from his receptionist telling me that my appointment time with Castro was no longer available because he had another client at my time. I asked her why since I had scheduled a week ago when she told me that time frame was open. She advised me that Castro has been very busy lately with hair extensions and the only time he’d have for me was a different time. I decided to just cancel since I felt I was being treated like I wasn’t important enough to keep the appointment with. I understand about business and profits since I own a clinic with my husband. I also understand the importance of treating clients well so they would like to come back. I’m sure extensions bring in more money but the cost of what I paid was no Pro-​Cut pricing either. My partial highlights was $ 100 and my cut was $ 60 (my cut ended up being only a 1 inch trim too)! I’m really bummed that I have to go find another hairstylist now. I had a really great one for so many years until she decided to pursue another career.

I usually dont write reviews even when I’ve had bad experiences but I feel like I needed to write this review, so that hopefully other customers don’t experience the same thing.
I’ve made this appointment for a hair cut 4 weeks ago, as I’m headed to the salon I get a phone call less than 10 mins before time to ask if I can delay the appointment, I said sure, after all things come up, I was surprised though that when I showed up to the new appointment time the stylist wasn’t even nearly done with the customer she had, I waited for close to 30 mins and left, never got acknowledged by any staff, never even had a phone call or apology.
Customer service should be taken more seriously by any business and from my experience with blow bend & extend they’ve had one of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I believe that, as a paying customer at least, I deserve more respect and consideration, I went to another hair salon and they were able to accommodate me luckily and I’m happy with my new stylist,
blow bend & Extend. NEVER AGAIN!

I’ve been on the hunt for a good colorist/​stylist since I moved to Texas 5 years ago. After hundreds of dollars wasted and orange hair, I resorted to at home boxed dyes that left me looking. drug store bought. I was referred to BB&E by a trusted friend and a year later, I’m a regular client! Castro has TRANSFORMED my black, unruly hair into a masterpiece. He takes his time and tailors my hair color and cut to my liking. He’s a true artist and friend. If you’re looking for a professional, talented, entertaining stylist in the DFW area, Castro is the best!

I came here a few weeks ago to get a little trim and update my «do». I purchased a Groupon and set an appointment the same day of the purchase. Luckily I was able to get an appointment for the same day in the afternoon. I arrived a few minutes early and was asked to take a seat and was offered some yummy water. Shortly after 3 more patrons came in, sat for a couple minutes and were promptly sat with their stylist. I waited for 20 minutes and was finally able to get seated but I instantly felt rushed because I had to leave for an appointment in 45 minutes. Luckily, all I *NEEDED* was a trim of my bangs and my ends to be cleaned up.. .it’s too bad I didn’t have more time though because I really wanted to play with my layers. :(Overall this place had a great atmosphere but since I had to wait (what I consider a long time when you schedule an appointment) I give these guys 3 stars. I might try them again in the near future and just make sure I have nothing to do all day.

This place is located very near to our home, so we went there after reading some good reviews on Unilocal.She had couple of visits there so far, she loved it and loved the way Jennifer helped her shape the hair for her. I just had my first experience at Blow, Blend, and Extend and I have nothing but good things to say. The salon is beautiful! Tiffany did a fantastic job on my color, highlights and trim. The staff is very inviting and the final product is top quality.

First, the new salon is BEAUTIFUL! I’m so excited for Christopher Box and his posse of talented hair gurus!
Chris Castro is amazingly easy to talk to and makes my day every time I get a cut. He listens to exactly what I want and makes suggestions for a more enjoyable hair experience between salon visits! Not to mention he takes time to show me exactly how to make my difficult hair do exactly what I want. GO Castro!

Thank you, Unilocal,for introducing me to Christopher Box and great haircuts. I had a phenomenal hair stylist in Denver and was sure that when we moved to Dallas I would never find anyone as skilled (and I had had a lot of bad haircuts before her so needless to say, I panicked at the thought of it taking me another 20 years to find someone who knows what they’re doing).
Chris is laid back and effortlessly gives great hair cuts. My hair is perfectly textured and layered, and when I style it you can see all the different dimensions. It takes me less time to do my hair and it grows out well. I have had several close family members tell me that it is the best haircut I’ve ever had. I plan on getting high-​lights done here too, but I can tell you that I have seen a few people walking out of the salon that just got color by Chris and it always looks magazine worthy.

All this talk on Unilocal about Orange vs Chris Box finally convinced me (loyal orange-​ite) to give Chris a shot. Aimee sent me a new client promo and we booked appointments together for this past Saturday afternoon.
Chris was super nice and took turns doing each of our hair. Aimee’s color, then my highlights, then Aimee’s haircut and style and then my blow-​dry and hair cut. I have crazy long hair so it took forever to dry my hair (though I was loving it because Chris was using the awesome Nano9 spray that smells crazy delicious — seriously it’s so good I bought it)
All in all we were there for about 3 – 3.5 hours — which was forever, but we both left looking fabulous. My color and cut look great and Chris is a lot more reasonable $$-wise and location wise so even though I do still love Orange. I think I’m sticking with Chris from now on!
