Love this place been coming here over 10 years. Prices have not changed over the years. Food is still amazing and the egg drop soup is on point.

Food was great — We had beef lo mein, chicken fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, and the happy family — all were really good. Not overly salty, which was nice. The building looks pretty run down from the outside — I used the drive through(love that), so I didn’t see the inside. Also, would love if they accepted credit cards. It’s a minor inconvenience but worth it. We will be back.

Always fast, more than affordable! The location is cash only tho — the only negative! My favorite is spicy beef and broccoli.

I’ve been coming here for years and it is great every time. The food is always piping hot. Most dishes are under $ 5. If you eat inside the egg drop and hot and sour soup is free! Be warned they are CASH only. The owner is very friendly. She does have a strong accent which I have seen other customers have trouble at times understanding. The inside os clean bit very plane Jane. But plane jane interior and cash only helps lead to cheap and tasty Chinese in a hurry.

I ordered take-out combination fried rice. It was bland and dried out… good thing I had ordered a side of the hot oil sauce or it would have been more dreadful than it was. The meat was dried out almost like eating jerky. I tried adding soy sauce and that didn’t help at all. Yuk! NOTGOINGTHEREAGAIN…

I’m new to the area and had a sudden urge for some Chinese food. I quickly turned to Unilocal to help lead the way. That’s how I came across the Egg Roll House and the reviews were right! Nothing fancy but the food was delicious, service was fast, and most importantly the food was great! I had beef lo mein because that’s my go to Chinese dish and it was great. I’m greedy, I eat a lot, I hate going somewhere only to be hungry a hour later. Portion was huge, two people could’ve easily eaten from it. I seriously debated on ordering to different meals because it was so inexpensive! But in the end, I decided to go with one. I’m going to be on the beach in Aruba in less than a week, do that extra meal will have to wait until I return. So much to choose from, can’t wait to try something else.

I have been here multiple times now and I have always enjoyed it. It’s a small place in the corner so you have to look a little hard for it. All of the entrees are under $ 5 and they give you a generous portion! The food always comes out fast and hot. They even have a drive through! Only downside is its Cash only… Thank goodness I almost always have some cash!

My go-to Chinese spot! Although the food is great, the customer service/atmosphere is admittedly not great. In my opinion, you’re getting a fairly priced meal, you’re not paying for the experience.

A very pleasant surprise Chinese fast food restaurant. Dine in or carry out. It is basic and not fancy. Plenty of choices on the menu. Plenty of food at a great price. The focus is on the food and service. If you are hungry for Chinese food, this is the place. It is not a large place.

Good and cheap! Cash only but $ 10 can easily feed family of 4! Our go to spot when out of groceries and spending on a budget!

I come to eat here once a week with my family and I love it! The business is family owned by hard working and friendly people. The food never let’s me down and I could drink there egg drop soup if they would let me. This is the place to get cheap quality Chinese.(:

I’m new to Irving and have only tried a couple of restaurants so far. The first Chinese restaurant I tried was empress of china and it was actually really good and fresh but since I’m still new around here I wanted to keep my options open which led me to try the eggroll house. I should have left well enough alone. CASHONLY!!! Service was crazy fast!!! I had the spicy chicken and shrimp my husband had the jalapeño chicken both came with mostly vegetables and a handful of a chicken-like mystery meat cut into perfect cubes bleh I was grossed out immediately! The brown sauce lacked flavor and so did the fried sweet and sour chicken that came with my meal. Rice was okay probably the only thing I enjoyed was the EGGROLL! Although it was somewhat familiar probably some type of bulk buy that most Chinese restaurants get from someplace like restaurant depot. It is very cheap but I’d definitely say spend the extra $ 2 and go to empress of china instead!

I have been coming here for many years, the owner’s wife is NOT friendly and Never smiles. The reason I come here is because the food is cheap and most of the time good. But they only accept cash. I always ask her, Why don’t you say hi, but she just looks at me like she doesn’t understand English. I have heard it has been here since the 80s

No… just no, peeps! I really wanted to like this place! I am a gal that gives every place a fair chance. Really, I do. I think of myself as an overall positive person. So anyway after reading reviews I was so incredibly pumped to try this place. I had it all set up… Saturday night… chinese food, wine, all about it. I ordered the hunan shrimp dinner with crab rangoon on the side and rushed over to pick up what I thought would be sheer deliciousness. It’s a total hole in the wall but I know some of the most charming places are. I walked in and immediately my nose was hit with an OFF smell. At that point I probably should have turned around and gone home but I said… no…no just get your food and see what happens. The lady at the counter was so friendly and wrapped my stuff and was good to go. I brought it home and got ready to dig in. The fried rice was brownish with no veggies… almost burned… and very mushy and old tasting. I gave it a few bites but it was really not good at all. The hunan shrimp again had an OFF smell and I did not touch it. No ma’am. The egg roll… same thing. Can’t catch a break here. Lastly I opened the crab rangoon expecting crab, CREAMCHEESE and yumminess! That’s what crab rangoon is all about, RIGHT?! Like how do you mess up that stuff? Anyway it was just dried up crab in some fried greasiness. I gave it a bite and literally opened up all of the pieces and saw no cream cheese in sight. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing!!! but it’s highly doubtful I’ll return. I’ll stick with delicious Thai and hit up Bangkok Orchid down the road from here on out. Go there. Spend the extra dough. IT’S WORTHIT. Quality over quantity. Thanks.

What a great place! You should go try it! It’s just off 183… But you’d not notice it unless you were looking. The inside is sweetly decorated… You can tell the owners have really put their all into it! The owners are a very sweet little couple and they work there every shift, every day. I just appreciate and support small businesses like this! I’d rather my money go to them than a large corporation! I loved the free soup you get if you eat there, as opposed to drive through. And there’s SO much food! Easily two full meals– if you eat a lot both times! Oh and the value– all of this for under $ 6!!! Ridiculous good prices! Really, this is a great one! Promise!!!

It’s a shame that Panda Express, Rice Express, and smaller chains occupy so much of people’s Chinese fast food conscience. Egg Roll House has far better sauces and ingredients, and is even cheaper. I wish someone would expand this franchise.

Please know, first of all, that they only accept cash. I went on the 4th, a day when many establishments were closed for the holiday. Based on positive reviews I saw here, and the fact that my first choice for Chinese take-out was closed, I decided to give it a try. It may have been an off day for them, but I was not impressed. Here’s what I ordered: — Sweet and Sour Soup — Kinda bland but not terrible. — Hunan Chicken: Not at all spicy, like I thought it would be. Just bland and blah. — Sweet and Sour Chicken: This was my husband’s dish, and since he doesn’t like to share, all I can say is he liked it. For whatever that’s worth… — Shrimp Fried Rice: Lots of dry clumpy rice, very little shrimp On the plus side, it’s very cheap. With that being said, you get what you pay for.

Been coming here since I was a kid(Im 27 now) Cheap Good Chinese food. I’ts not the best Chinese food you ever had, but for the price you can’t beat it. My gf loves their egg drop soup and I love the beef szechuan plate. A little hole in the wall place with solid food.

This place has another Unilocal page, so I’ll post my review on here also. Only takes cash, remember that! The lady behind the counter is the sweetest lady ever! She remembers my orders and just how I like it! She barely speaks English, but she does understand what you want. She makes the food fresh with quality ingredients(for a chinese restaurant). The beef low mein is incredible. The beef pepper steak is my favorite, second favorite would be the orange chicken(she adds spicy, so just say ‘no spice’ if you don’t want it hot). Reasonably price and a great hole in the wall

This is great Chinese food! Trust me. I’ve never craved Chinese food because I could never find anything I loved. Tried a lot of places in Dallas from Garland/Richardson to Downtown/Uptown Dallas and nothing was great, it was all just ok. Until I started coming here… and now I know what good Chinese food is! The prices are unbeatable for the quality of food and the amount of food you get. If its your first time going, try the Hunan combination(shrimp, chicken, beef) with extra vegetables(for $ 0.75) and you will have enough food for 2 meals at least. The vegetables are always very fresh and you will want extra for your 2nd or 3rd meal with the sauce and rice and egg roll you get all for less than $ 6. No lie. The owners are a very nice couple who are also the entire staff! yay for small business! It definitely shows how much they care about their customers and providing a quality experience. The sweet lady behind the counter is one of the owners and they are both such hard workers and most excellent cooks! Super friendly and always happy to see you come back. Coming from uptown Dallas, I know the area and building are off the usual course for most. But if you try the service and food, the physical location and modest décor won’t at all matter. Their restaurant is very clean to dine in and cleaner than most I’ve been to in Uptown. And if you stay to dine in, she gives you bowls to help yourself to the BEST hot&sour soup I’ve ever had! It is piping hot and just hits the spot to hold you over until your food comes out… which is always less than 5 minutes. Yes, It’s located kinda off the beaten path in Irving, but it is like other places in the area: ethnic and authentic food for a great price. We go there every time on the way to DFW airport from Dallas and I wouldn’t think of eating anywhere else. Service and food are 5 star. Can’t say enough positive things about Egg Roll House! Just wish she would expand to be my next door neighbor.
