Savers Cost Plus

They charged me 15% for using my debit card with no warning!!! Prices are outrageously pricy. I stopped by to buy meat because a friend recommended the place but will never go back again. Kroger and Walmart are 1000 times better, cheaper and cleaner. I feel sorry those who keep going back and getting ripped off.

I mainly frequent the restaurant inside. Their tortas de fajita are fantastic. My girlfriend has always purchased custom cakes and they’ve never dissapointed. Gave the store a walk through and was surprised to see so much imported beer at discounted prices; only to be surprised further at checkout. They charge a 20% surcharge for purchases less than $ 15. Somewhat deceptive. Shoulda bought more beer…

This dumb store is something else. Not only do they charge you a 20% surcharge for spending less when you can get the same stuff at walmart and dollar general for the same price and for less with NO surcharge. Their not cheap at all and who cares about their fresh veggie everybody on here is talking about. Booo! You can get that at other Mexican stores. Big friggin deal. And then I had a problem twice where they had to call the white stores manager all because their floor supervisors are NOT educated when cigarets say 50 cent off or a dollar off. They will fight you on it like the store actually belongs to their grandpa or something. They will not honor it until I tell they non educated selves to go get their boss. Only if Marlboro and camel knew that you are selling their stuff n not honoring their coupons. SMDH. Just tonight they had a sign for the Marlboro (the newest gold pack) pack advertised at $ 4.75 n clearly states 50cent off now. n below in big bold writing $ 4.25. But it rang up reg price at 4.75. I pointed it out to the cashier n she got on a phone n called one of the floor sup only to have that dummy come over looking confused after been told the problem n had the nerves to say…” I don’t know about that sign” like are you serious. I don’t give a crap what you don’t know. The sign is up there so wobble ur way to the front n fix this to where ur machine reflects 50 cent OFF! My purchase. This is too much. I lost it because this is my second time going through this. Those poor Mexicans that don’t know English. I hope they catch certain charges when this store is trying to pull one of their snake moves. I will not come back. Plus you know it’s a shady place when all the floor managers look so angry like they wanna hurry n get off so they can shoot their big toe off. What a sad business. Don’t shop here. Their prices are not all that. Not to die for. You can get else where for cheaper with better service. I’m not putting my money to this greedy blood sucking machine. Haaaaa! You better ask somebody !!

This is a great discount warehouse place for Hispanic community and ME (not Hispanic w/​family of 4)~! The prepared food is authentic. I like ordering dozens of tamales in advance for the weekend. They have plenty already prepared too, of a good variety. The Mexican-​sugar bread is great. Fresh made tortillas.
The vegetables are very fresh, not like you get in American grocery stores-​all limp, huge and flavorless. The vegetables here are plump ripe and fresh, at a good price.
The meat market is excellent, the meat is always fresh. I think the Mexican community doesn’t put up with bull. They would stop shopping here if the foods weren’t good like they are. WE should all stop shopping at Kroger/​American grocery chains till they improve quality.
It is a discount warehouse place, and the sign states it clearly that you will save more if you buy more. The downside is that the popular American name brand stuff is expensive IF you can find it – stuff like packaged prepared meals; which is unhealthy and expensive anyway. But staples like cereal, flour, sugar all that is priced great.
They also have merchandise like suitcases, toys, towels, hoodies, jeans, etc. I bought a GREAT King size sheet set there for $ 30 about 3 years ago. It is still pristine on my bed. It is way better quality than the ones at walmart/​target that ripped in under a year.
I have bought great $ 20 full size suitcase, and other sundry items that I recommend that have LASTED. Again not like cheap stuff from Walmart.
The staff is helpful, but they don’t all speak English. If they don’t they will go get someone that does.
All in all the negative reviews do not do this place justice. Obviously the reviewers expectations were not met, but what were they expecting? It says CostPlus Warehouse on the sign. It is in a working class Hispanic neighborhood. I drive 15 miles to get here. If you are a prejudiced person, don’t go! But if you want quality meats and vegetables at NON Central Market prices go. Just don’t expect to find a Central Market with European goods. :)

Wow I never knew about the surcharge, but I will still be back. I’ll just spend more than $ 15 like I always do.
They have great vegetables and a great assortment, which is the main reason I come here. They also have good real (not Americanized) Mexican food restaurant. So far everything I’ve bought is priced lower than any other store I’ve shopped at. I would highly recommend this place!

Rip off with the srurcharge they basically are lying with low prices and at the end there’s a surcharge in your check. Desgraciadamente los latinos no nos damos cuenta de esto yo me di cuenta hasta que una amiga me advirtio y solo regrese para comprobarlo.

The idea is to select the items on sale and spend at least a certain amount of money to lower the surcharge so you do end up saving… if ur smart enough… not only THAT THEY GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY ALOT … I HAVE ALOT OF RESPECT FOR THE OWNER OF THAT ESTABLISHMENT

I went here today, for the first time, to purchase some things to keep in my fridge at work for lunches. It’s the closest place I could find on my lunch break. So, in I went with my list in hand for sandwich fixings and some yogurts. I grabbed my few items and headed to the register. As i was checking out, I noticed a big ol sign above each register that stated there would be a sur-​charge added to every purchase. I re-​read the sign again, searching for what I had missed. No… if you spend $ 15 or less, you are chareged 20%…20%!! For my total of $ 15ish dollars, I was charged an extra $ 3 b/​c they simply FELT like it.
This store is geared toward the Spanish community. It includes a tortilla area, Mexican restaurant area, lots of Spanish food items not found in regular stores.
Remember the sur-​charge sign? Every one I looked at, over ever single register, was in English. Every other sign in the store? Spanish AND English. Sorta seems like they might be trying to rip off the Hispanic community to me…
I was thoroughly ripped off once. Won’t be back.
