The food here was outstanding! Had an amazing experience! Came here today for the Cheeesy burger special and was very delighted! Costumer service was excellent also! Definitely will not be my last time here!

Food isn’t the worst I’ve had, however it is extremely expensive for what you get. Pressed grilled chicken on a bun w lettuce and tomato is $ 6, that’s it — doesn’t include a meal. The chicken isn’t fresh, it’s that spongey pressed kind like they use at Burger King and Subway. Food is worthy of being on a dollar value menu. Otherwise the restaurant was clean and the service folks were very pleasant. I would not come back though due to ridiculous price for the food you get.

OMG I think I have a new Favorite Burger! I ordered a cheeseburger(double meat no vegies is how it came), fries, and strawberry shake via foodsby(they have the food delivered to our office) It was greatness! it was like a grilled cheese with two burger patties in the middle not your typical bun. I will be ordering this again when it is offer thanks for a great lunch time for a nap now :)

Nothing special … Actually a little high priced Prefer 5 guys for burger which is less than mile away The bug malt is «cool» but little higher priced than should be

I am writing this to I was disappointed, craving a burger so bad but they got it all wrong. First of all the girl taking the order was rushing us when we were the only customers there, but she seemed new and a young guy behind her was walking her thru the order. Our Oder was to go, when we got home it was lettuce and beef patties, no tomatoes, we specify jalapeños and those were missing too. The chili was too greasy for my taste but my husband liked it. Please fix the issues we really need a good burger place in las Colinas and we were hoping it was going to be it.

Three words. Mediocre at best. Environment: Decent. They try to make it a sit-in restaurant but everyone knows it’s fast food. It’s located in a nice, upscale area(explains the prices) but I do not believe they will make it longer than 3 years. Service: The employee that took my order was friendly and knowledgable of the menu. I asked him for a few suggestions and ended up ordering the bacon cheeseburger. The service was 4⁄5. Food quality/taste: Okay so the meat was great quality meat. But EVERYTHINGELSE was not. This is where Wayback lost its stars. The food just doesn’t taste good. You go to burger places like grease monkey, hopdoddys(which, according to them, should be their true competitor because they«aren’t fast food» and are priced similarly), in n out, Steak ‘n Shake. You can go anywhere and get a tasty burger, but Wayback doesn’t have anything unique that makes them pop. Should you try it once? Maybe. Should you try it twice? Never.

I got the double bacon combo. Set me back $ 13 for burger, fries, and a soda. Everyone was taking their time… like wandering around instead of cooking. The place was empty at 12 and it still took forever. Then I took a bite, the bacon was so rubbery I couldn’t bite through it. So I pulled the bacon off which was a horrible grey color. Not going back

I was really looking forward to this burger joint as a friend of mind was trying to sell me on their burgers. So I decided to drop by and place an order for a double bacon cheeseburger to go… I ended up getting sick and had to hit the john multiple times that day. I think I got food poisoned because it took a week to recover. That being said, my friend didn’t have the same experience I had. I just can’t go back to this place. It tore me up bad.

Ordered, asked for extra lettuce. Waited over 10 minutes. Was handed my burger in a bag, asked to verify extra lettuce — guy called back to assembly person — he said sure. I opened burger — 1 measly leaf of brown edged lettuce. UGH… went back to counter, asked for my extra lettuce — ended up with 2 measly leaves of brown edged lettuce. Ugh… Patty was small, bun collapsed into a gluey mess reminiscent of wonder bread and fries were pulled from a big silver box with a warming light on top and were unseasoned. When you pay over 8 bucks for a burger and fries you expect something better than whataburger or Wendys. Wont be back.

Clean restaurant. Walk in and order at the counter. Burger wasn’t bad. Would have been nice if the bun was a bit more toasted. The cheese fries were very disappointing. I had to literally hunt to find fries with cheese on them. Lastly, the restaurant needs to have more people working during lunch… I shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes for my food at this type of restaurant. The staff was very nice though and apologized for the wait. I am unsure if I give this place another try.

Today was my first day trying out this place. I was very disappointed with the taste and the price. I understand they are in the pricier side but I didn’t receive quality food which is what I expected after paying $ 25 for 2 meals. When I showed up this evening I was the 2nd customer there and my food order took long to prepare. The female employee cooking looked like she didn’t want to be there and made it awkward for me as a customer. Most definitely poor service that I almost left and wanted a full refund. This place wasn’t what I expected at all and will definitely not be returning. * Truly honest opinion

Wayback Burgers is a fast casual burger chain in Irving. Wayback puts the focus on quality, fresh ingredients with their burgers. They also have an assortment of sandwiches and shakes. Although they do not bill themselves as fast food, Wayback is certainly an alternative to Whataburger, Steak N Shake, & In-N-Out. My Overall Rating — 2 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Wayback is located in a strip mall along a newly developed area in Irving. It has you’re typical fast casual setup with registers to take your order and plenty of seating. The drinks are self-serve, you can see the staff working behind the counter(like In-N-Out), and the restaurant is clean. Nothing else really stands out. ½ Star. Service — The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but it was a bit slow getting our order. They have just opened, so you can tell they are going through some growing pains. My chips came out first by themselves, but then they took them back b/c they are supposed to serve it with the burger. We had a pretty decent sized group with different order combinations, but the one theme that remained the same was the slow speed. ½ Star. Food — I’ll start with the good: I had the Wayback Classic(double-meat + cheese) «Our Way» with homemade chips. The patties were a very good size but a bit under seasoned. The soft bun was lightly toasted and the toppings were fresh. The homemade chips were fresh and not greasy. It was served a little on the room temperature side(they originally took it back). I thought they were bland but some others in the group liked them quite a bit. Finally, my mint Oreo shake was served in the stainless steel milkshake cup. It was a good size, but I swear it had a minor metallic taste to it. Overall, I thought the meal was good… BUT…it’s pricey for what you get. My burger, chips, shake was almost $ 14 after taxes. Keep this in mind because I could get a similar meal at In-N-Out for ½ the price. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Only because Wayback is in a convenient location to me. I live in the nearby neighborhood, so I think Wayback would be a good option for a shake from time to time. Bottom line: Wayback has a menu that is worth trying once, but unless you live nearby, I’m not sure they’re worth trying twice. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

I was excited to have a new burger place close to work especially since they have turkey burgers. Now that I’ve been there the excitement is dead. The place tries to seem like a sit down burger joint and not so much like a fast food restaurant. I would actually call it fast food but it isn’t really that fast. I got the turkey burger combo with fries and that was over $ 10, sorry that was just too pricey for what it was. The burger was just okay a commercial patty so nothing special or anything to pay more money for. The chips were actually better than the burger. IDK I just expected more for the hefty priced they charged. Try it for yourself it was just nothing to return for I can get a better turkey burger at a better price in other parts of Irving.

This is an average fast food type burger joint. Burger quality and taste were typical fast food level similar to McDonald’s or Jack in the Box. Fries and onion rings were ok. Nothing about the food would make me want to return. Price was unusually high for a fast food place. For their prices, you could go to a real local burger restaurant like Stack House or Uncle Ubers and get a real burger made from locally sourced meat and produce that’s actually tasty enough to warrant the cost. Probably won’t be back.

Thanks to fellow DFW Unilocalers, I was here with them for a meetup. Wayback is located in a newly-developed shopping center, and it is not hard to find at all. The upside is that everything is brand new. No greasy smells, yet. I ordered the Patty Melt with Fries and Drink combo, and upgraded my drink to the Strawberry Banana Milkshake. Their prices are on the $$$ side for fast food and my order costs me $ 13. So it’d better be good. The Patty Melt: My fellow Unilocalers discovered that the so-called«Patty» was just an upside down burger. I didn’t realize it until after I finished it and looked back at my pictures. Disappointing. And the beef patty is so-so, not the best but not the worst. Fries: Nothing special either. Even the Cajun seasoning is bland. Five Guys simply win this category(and it probably costs less). Milkshake: I ordered Strawberry Banana but I only tasted Strawberry. I actually starting craving In-n-Out’s Root Beer Float(Oh snap I just told you a secret menu item) as I type this. To sum it up in one word: NoWayBack

This is more of a 2.5 star review but I’m still UYE drunk so I’m rounding to 3.(Disclaimer, I’m not actually drunk. Dammit.) Sometimes you find a strip mall burger joint that blows your skirt up and knocks off your socks. Other times you find a strip mall burger joint that just blows warm breath on your neck. This is a neck breather kinda place. Not really in a bad way… just kinda in a bad way. I had the single-patty cheeseburger Their Way(lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup) with onion rings and a large tea, which clocked in at just over $ 10. I’m pretty sure the kid ringing my order messed up and over charged me $ 1(which I didn’t fix because the effort didn’t seem worth it). However, I wasn’t the only one at the table that had errors and have read other reviews of similar mistakes. They are definitely still working out the training kinks, which resulted in very slow food. Not good for counter service. There were too many cooks in the kitchen bouncing into each other and only one adult who seemed to know what was going on. I get it, you gotta get a groove down. I’m not really rating them on that. They tried. What dropped my rating is the average kinda pricey food. I did really enjoy my onion rings but the burger wasn’t that great or interesting. Pair that with the slow service, the pricing errors and the franchise feel and I probably won’t be returning. Unless there’s another Irving UYE not at the new Thai place next door. Then I’ll probably just get a milkshake and call it good.

Good frys, but very ordinary burgers — think Whataburger with less interesting bread. Just not a try twice.

I noticed a few days ago that this place had opened in a newly constructed strip mall across from La Vilita. I popped in tonight to see what it was all about and am very happy that I did. I was greeted by a very welcoming staff as soon as I walked in. As it was the first time I was looking at the menu I was a bit lost. The lady that took my order explained the menu clearly and with patience. I ended up ordering a Chipotle Burger made ‘Our Way’ and making it a #2 combo with an upgrade to a milkshake which means I also got a side fries and a small Oreo mint milkshake. I also ordered a chipotle mayo dipping sauce for my fries. As I was waiting for my food, which I ordered to go, I met the owner who I am happy to say is an Irving resident! She was friendly and very pleasant to speak with. I live just a few minutes away and thus ate my food shortly after I got it. The burger was impressive from the very first bite! It is flavorful, not too greasy and the patty is a generous size. The fries were fried perfectly, not greasy at all, an with the chipotle mayo were delicious! They also have an easy to join rewards program that offers freebies. I will defiantly be frequenting this joint often! Oh I almost forgot, the milkshake was not as minty as I would like. Will be getting a different flavor next time.
