Gorgeous views. Solid food. Great service by our waiter Jude. Here’s where they fail… my husband made a reservation and informed them we were celebrating our anniversary. Dessert was ordered and served with a lovely card that read«Happy Anniversary». We receive the bill. Dinner for 2 approx. $ 175.00. Completely expected, you get what you pay for. That said, I think it’s poor«custom» to not comp the dessert for people celebrating a birthday or anniversary. It’s a simple meaningful gesture that makes a person feel special and inclined to celebrate the next birthday there. It’s not about the $ 10.00, our bill was over $ 200 with tip. Penny wise, pound foolish…

Yep very good indeed, the setting, ambience, food and everything else. This is the place Bill took Hillary for one of their special occasions. It’s the place to be when the River Towns have their fireworks on 4th of July, sit outside order a couple of appetizers & some wine and enjoy the fireworks. You’ll be able to see fireworks up & down river. Make reservations far ahead of time

We love the location of this place — the views are so excellent, however the menu is not my favorite, food was good, steak salad — good size steak portion over small portion of salad — steak cooked just right– appetizer of tuna tartar was good — sitting upstairs is very noisy. Enjoy a drink on the upstairs outside deck, watch the sunset — then go elsewhere for dinner. Husbands ravioli was so so. Our waitress was very attentive

Upon arriving I would have to say you feel like its a cross between a seaside bed and breakfast and a restaurant. The little bar on the roof is lovely but good luck getting a seat so after checking in we went back downstairs and sat on some seats overlooking the river . I think the wait was about an hour but cant complain when you have such lovely settings . Mussels were great, Tuna Tartar was clean and fresh but the fish tacos were a disappointment . Staff 5* Ambience and setting 4.5 * Food 3* Parking 5*

We went here for an early business dinner, the place was relatively empty when we got there but the service was still on point. We were seated next to the window and got to watch the sunset over the Hudson river. The nice thing is as the sun got too low and started to shine in our face an automatic window shade lowered to block it. The food can only be described as excellent, everyone enjoyed there meal and the visiting speaker we were entertaining was very happy that we chose this spot. Overall a great time and somewhere great for a date night or other special occasion!

I went on a Sunday for brunch. Open table didn’t have a reservation available so we just went. When we got there the hostess wouldn’t give me another option but a bar height table(no matter if we were willing to wait). Also, we had to continuously call the waiter to give us the drink menu then to actually take the drink order. It’s not something I don’t appreciate when I’m paying for a service. The food was good and the view is amazing. I’ll give this place one more shot when I’m able to sit outside and enjoy all it has to offer(the high winds limited the place to serve only inside that day). As for the waiter, she might need to pay more attention. We could have easily had two rounds each but we barely were able to get one drink(actually our drinks got there after our food just to put it in perspective of how terrible her attention was!). I wish I had known her name.

What a cute place to stop by after work to unwind, grab a drink, and eat good food. Came here with my fiancé on a Friday around 5pm ish. We had made reservations to eat indoors but decided to stay outdoors since it was a nice hot day out. I got the blood orange bbq cocktail to start with and it was okay. Has a fruity taste in the beginning and an after taste of lays bbq chips. We got a couple appetizers but the main one that was good were the fish tacos. They’re actually really tiny and come in 5 or 6. Really one or two biters. We got some other raw fish appetizers but not significant enough for me to remember after a week. For dinner we got the salmon burger and the tuna burger. My fiancé liked the salmon and I liked the tuna better. But better than the burgers were the fries. They were fried perfectly. Golden brown and crunchy. This place is such a cute date place or a nice upscale family dinner place that’s quiet and relaxing.

Lovely location on the Hudson with superb wide open space two levels of dining rooms, plus rooftop and patio open during warmer months for drinks and appetizers. Recommend: the mussels, burger, chicken paillard salad and steaks. Very good cocktail list. The key lime pie is sublime. Friendly and efficient service.

Really great spot right on the Hudson. Great view, expecially if you sit on the second floor. View of the river and view of the diners down stairs. Well made cocktails, selection spans a range of spirits as well. Had a few different ones and stuck with beers(usual selection) for the rest of the night. Ended up pretty wasted. Started with a few appetizers. Really, by then we were a few cocktails in already. I’ll sum up by saying all the apps were great except the tuna tartar. Was universally panned by the table… for being average. We added the mussels and fries in as an appetizer. Good move, because the fries are excellent here. Mussels were kinda like all the good ones you get anywhere else. But fries were the move. Hence the switch to beers. Following up on that, I had to get the burgers with fries. Cause fries. It was a great choice, burgers were really well built, juicy and flavorful, yet the burger doesnt fall apart. Sampled some steak and scallops from my friends. From the single bites I took, will definitely try them next time.

The service was great! But the food was okay… my brother got the Red Hat burger which was pretty good but I got the Cubana sandwhich which was mediocre. My sister got the salmon entrée and liked that as well. Red Hat was a very high end, classy place. I felt like I was paying($$$$$) for the location and service but not really the food…

Ate here on a double date then loved it so much have been coming back ever since. I specifically love this place on the fourth of July. The roof top is one of the best for the occasion. Nice patio furniture, a waterfront view that you can see firework shows for miles and stocked bar make this my happy place. Perfect spot to head up to while your waiting for your table. We recently ordered moules frites and the short rib. If you like seafood this is a great spot with the majority of the menu items from the sea. The mussels were so fresh and tender and seasoned just right. The fries were also seasoned just right. I’ve never met a short rib I didn’t like. It was so well braised and tender. I’ve also ordered the scallops and the salmon. The chefs know how to serve up seafood everything has been excellent. Ambiance is classy/romantic. They have a pretty decent patio right on the river that on a early evening breathtaking as the sun sets.

Perfection. There are no two ways about it. I was taken here for dinner, ostensibly for my birthday. It was a beautiful evening, the perfect sort to sit near the water. We were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant, but my boyfriend asked if there was anything by the window. There wasn’t at the time, but they said they’d see what they could do. More on that later. We ordered cocktails — the cucumber gimlet was AH-mazing and wonderfully refreshing; a great combination of gin, cucumber, mint, basil and soda water — and were treated to a lovely amuse bouche(a little potato pancake with wild ramps and other tasty goodness). I had the butternut squash & cider salad(maple glazed squash, arugula, dried cherries, green apple, pumpkin seeds, naturally cured smoked bacon, goat cheese, apple cider vinaigrette), which was yummy goodness and The Boyfriend had the crab cake(Maine peekytoe and Chesapeake Bay lump crab, piquillo pepper, napa cabbage slaw, and wasabi-lime remoulade sauce) — he said that was solid awesome. Our conversation was wonderful and the setting was romantic and beautiful — complete with hot & cold running service. Our entrees arrived — pan-seared French-cut chicken breast(free range organic chicken. chicken jus vinaigrette, a warm salad of brussels sprouts, wild rice, red quinoa, sweet potato, pine nuts, & apricot-almond-cherry chutney) for him and pan-seared Atlantic swordfish Provencal(lemon-olive-roasted pepper vinaigrette, basil chiffonade, fried capers, haricots verts, olive oil-poached fingerling potatoes) for me. Everything was absolutely delicious. When we were about halfway through, the hostess arrived to tell us that a beautiful table on the river had opened up and she asked if we wanted to move. I thought it silly, as it was great right where we were and we were nearly done with dinner, but The Boyfriend insisted. Off we went. We finished dinner with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the Hudson, with the Tappan Zee in the distance. We wanted to linger, so we ordered dessert — unusual, but hey, what the heck, right? — and the next thing I knew, I was proposed to(I said YES, of course). Everyone at the restaurant, from the hostesses to the wait staff, had helped to facilitate the event and it couldn’t have come off more perfectly. That’s a night I will never forget and one that the people at Red Hat helped to make extra special. The Fiancé and I will be back soon!

Gorgeous space, amazing views being right on the Hudson river, and impeccable service. Prices are a tad high as this is a fairly fancy place and the quality of the food is worthy of a 4 star review for sure. Neither my fiancé or I were blown away with our food but we weren’t bothered by anything either so I’m not sure we’ll be returning with so many other amazing restaurants along the Hudson valley but I wouldn’t discourage anyone from having a nice meal here, especially if you come during the summer when they have outdoor seating on the patio right by the water.

5 stars just for the rooftop bar because of decent prices and the terrific view. Now as for a meal here, I give it a solid 4 stars. We came here for a small celebratory dinner. The service was really good but the food was a little underwhelming. Also, I was expecting live jazz which I was under the impression they had on certain nights but while the music was lovely, it was not a live performance. I’d probably come here again in the summer when you can have drinks on the rooftop followed by a meal outdoors.

I’ve been to Red Hat a few times recently and I am a big fan. I know it’s known for outdoor seating and river views, but as it’s the middle of winter, I haven’t had that experience yet. But even when it’s cold and dark and you’re inside, it’s still a great restaurant. It has nice décor(a mix of a warm pub feel and an old industrial space) and it’s lively without being deafening. I’ve had mussels a couple of times, and on my other visits, I ordered steak frites, scallops, and a deconstructed brat sandwich. All of my entrees have been excellent. I also liked the burrata and beet salad and a root veggie side dish they had as a special. They have had good service each time I’ve been. Beer list is pretty good, although not high quality enough or interesting enough to match the food. I’m not a wine person, so no idea on that front. So all around, Red Hat is a solid choice for an enjoyable meal. And hopefully next time I’m in the area, it will finally be spring and I will get take in the views to go with it.

I and my hubby went out to this restaurant this passed weekend and it was a amazing. We had to make a reservation online and we got the last spot for 4:45 so we were the first ones there before the crowd showed up. Everyone was very nice, kind and very welcoming. We asked to sit near the window and we loved the view. The atmosphere was perfect it was very romantic and the food was 100% on point . At night time it’s very nice as well you get to see the bridge lit up and it looks like your somewhere esle besides for being in the West Chester area . I got this amazing hoilday special seafood dish and my hubby got the hanger steak it was delicious and on point . I would definitely go back there another time for either a hoilday or another nice occasion . Dress code is I would say casual but elegant. Some, of the guest was wearing a suit jacket and ties other people were dressed down but still looked dressed up . Everyone should try out this place At least once in there life. I would give this place a rating of A+.

Excited to write this review not because I loved it but because I was so displeased with this place I feel everyone should know. We both sat in the bar area and ordered off the only menu that was offered which was brunch. The menu is limited as it has a small mix of breakfast and lunch item with only 3 or 4 mains. The lunch list was small so we both opted for the burgers. I wish either of us ordered something else so I could have something else to compare to… Onto the burger as the pics make them look way better than really were… I opted for the ciabatta roll and she opted for the brioche. The ciabatta was burnt and the burger was over done in some spots and under in the middle. The top of the bun was rock hard and and inside was scraped and scooped off of the char prices but the west part was the burger was tasteless! ABSOLUTELY no salt or flavor! I actually asked for salt and pepper to give it a little taste and couldn’t even cut the rock hard flavorless burger. The fries were no better as 90% were OVER fried and had literally no taste! Thank got for ketchup as it gave some moisture to this meal. No other sauces or accompaniments were offered so I didn’t bother to ask. Her burger was worse than mine as she asked for medium rare as did I but hers was basically raw. She didn’t want to say anything because we both were starving but nor did we get an acknowledgment from the server seeing if everything was«okay». Same nasty fries as I had as well. The best part of this whole meal in which each burger was $ 18 each was the pickles. And if I remember correctly are bought from a different place and not homemade. The only only reason I could think of giving this place more than 1 star is because of the view. The place is right on the water and does have a nice view. The manager and waitstaff maybe should pay a little attention to the customers instead of sitting around eating and bullshitting by the bar and maybe could have asked us how everything was or asked if anything is needed. In a nutshell I won’t be coming back, nothing strikes me as it «could be better» and staff looked like they care less as well.

My parents had been here a few times and raved about it so I was really excited when my mother chose Red Hat for her birthday dinner. The restaurant is situated on the Hudson River — and they talk full advantage of their location. There’s a large outdoor seating area, a rooftop deck, and beautiful views of the river. A great touch is that mirrors are strategically placed on the walls of the dining room so you can see the Hudson even if you’re not directly facing it. The restaurant itself is sort-of a converted warehouse — it gives off a warm aura with exposed brick walls, low lighting, and rustic touches throughout. I loved the fact that they incorporated the color red into the décor — red booths, red carpet, red stitching on the menus, etc — nice tie into the restaurant’s name. I started with the mozzarella and fennel salad — essentially a flat disc of mozzarella topped with radish, fennel, sliced grapes, and pesto. The salad was warm, the cheese was soft, and the pesto really tied it together. For my main I had the pan-seared chicken breast; it was so good– super tender with crispy skin and a tasty warm salad on the side with quinoa and brussels sprouts. For dessert I had«something chocolate» which is a flourless chocolate cake with fresh whipped cream — very decadent. Red Hat delivers the goods — location, food, and service were all top-drawer. I had a great experience and will definitely keep this on my list of go-tos in Westchester — happy birthday ma! :-*

Met friends here for brunch. The service was good and the views were nice, even in winter it’s fun to watch the river. Food was tasty. I had sort of a high-brow bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was good. Drinks were also very nice, although I was hurting and didn’t even want any hair of the dog that bit me! I think this would be a fun place in nice weather, too.
