Amazing food quality, specially Pav Bhaji. Great service. It has Indian taste. So if you are craving for Indian taste in USA I must recommend to visit this place. Place is too small. So that waiting time is high. Chat, Dosa everything is good and must try. If you are in New Jersey then must visit this place.

I’ve been here twice now and both times have been extremely memorable!(Last time was 3 months ago– yes, catching up on reviews!) this is almost like a fast food Indian place but not in the traditional sense. They have a variety of foods here ranging from proper meals to quick street cart items. We have now tried multiple types of paratas(they have over 100 combinations of stuffing!), pav bhaji, kasta kachori, cheese frankie, missal pav, as well as a few of their subzis and daals. My favorite thing here hands down is the pav bhaji. No joke I haven’t had pav bhaji that tastes this good outside of India ever! The paratas are great too. We’ve gotten the platter both times. I think next time we should just get the individual ones. You can stuff it with anything you want! Get creative with it– I’m pretty sure it’ll still be delish! This place is def a must go for me the next time I visit the family in NJ! Note: the only reason I took a star away for because of the ambiance and styrofoam plates. They could easily make this place a little less casual.

Khasiyat is an unpretentious hole in the wall kind of place, located in the Little India section of Edison(Oak Tree Road). You will feel like you are in India. We were greeted upon entry and were informed of a 15 minutes wait. I was really hungry and felt like Elaine waiting at the Chinese restaurant. However, the wait was accurate; we didn’t get the ’10 more minutes’ response. We ordered a paratha(roti) stuffed with herbs, spices, paneer and cheese. The paratha was delicious. It arrived quickly, was a little greasy, however it packed a punch. We enjoyed the first paratha so ordered another one stuffed with ingredients of our liking. The second tailored one arrived fast as well and was flavorful. We also ordered Pani Puri, which we will skip the next time we go to this place. However, the paratha is a must try. The place offers 100 varieties of stuffed parathas.

My husband and me went to this restaurant for the first time on Sunday. We had heard a lot about it. Well, being a food maniac, I must agree that the parathas were too good. I had alu muli paratha. They served it with pickle, lettuce and curd. I really liked it. My husband had ordered chhole bhatura and then I had ordered a bhel as I wasnt satisfied with just one paratha. But the bhel was OK. Not upto my taste. It was too sweet with big chunks of puris in it. Also chhole was not upto the mark. Instead I would suggest to try TALKOFTHETOWN restaurant. The paratha was awesome though so will try other flavours there.

Good place for quick Indian fast food and Paranthas. This is in heart of Indian territory with all kinds of Indian food available in half mile radius. Their Parantha platter is good value for money and is pretty good but if I have to make this offering even better suggestions would be 1) platter should have a choice of ordering two different type of Paranthas 2) Try making the Paranthas a bit thinner and crisper. 3) substitute one Sabzi with just plain dahi. Awesome place overall — definitely recommended.

To be very generous with my review, I would rate the food here as ordinary. I tried largely the North Indian fare, and hardly anything came even close to meeting the lowest standard of taste. Parathas: which seems to be the signature dish here, we’re no good. Stuffing was bland and I could see that parathas were quickly half-cooked on high heat. Chaat items lacked any noticeable flavor except for what was imparted by tamarind chutney(which was not bad). One of the items we ordered(cutlet) had gone bad, that means that some of the not so popular items are served stale. To be fair, out of the 10 odd things we tried — only pav bhaji seemed to meet the minimum threshold of quality.

This is my go to fast food Indian place. I always do takeout so I can’t exactly judge the service experience but they are always nice enough to listen to all my specifics in my order. I tend to pick it up before I drive back to PA for my college, and they make sure they pack everything appropriately so nothing gets soggy from chutneys. The owner of this place is the same as Dimple’s and Bombay talk. I don’t go there since I usually just opt for Khasiyat, but hey, if this place is so good, I assume his other locations must be the same!

This is my favorite indian fast food place in new jersey! Not too greasy and flavors always on point. Every paratha is delicious and the samosa chaat is excellent. Don’t leave this place without trying their falooda! Its like a nice, light, homemade one. They give you extra milk too if you find it too sweet :)

I would like to start writing my review with one star(ofcourse no option for zero star). Food was good in taste but the service was horrible. They charged 12% of tips with the bill. That’s why servers don’t care about service. The place was so unhygienic. Table was full dirty and sticky. There were litter(plastic spoons, fork, and tissues) under the table. ABOUTTHESERVICE — Service was horrible. When we told them that the food is really spicy, so we want to order a mango lassi ASAP, the server made his face like«Really»!! Then we waited so long to get mango lassi. To the Owner — please train you staff to keep place hygienic and how to provide better service. I will NEVER go to that restaurant again ever. I would recommend no to go to this place. Better find other good restaurant.

Horrible Service. Wish would have checked Unilocal ratings before. Over that, no matter how many people go out to dine there, they charge 12% of service charge(tips). Usually I would pay even more for tips, but the fact that it is added automatically over their bad service irritates the hell out of me. Table not cleaned properly. And even at the bottom of the table there is litter(used forks, tissues etc.). I can only guess how their Kitchen would be. Of course, I didn’t enter the restaurant with expectations of high class service but they even managed to provide lower grade service. Even after making sure the order we placed, they ended up making wrong Pav Bhajis spicy. I had to literally follow around their server to give Mango Lassi. Golden Bhel’s some of the Sev were hard, felt like it was from the bottom of the ready-made packet. I would recommend may be a take-out from here. To the owner, you have got a nice business here and looks like you have quite a big customer base here, but if you continue like this it wont take much time to loose customers. Train your servers to get organize, they surely looked over-worked and clueless.

I tried this place recently. Paratha was ok, nothing seems special or filling! Just for few basic ingredients, charge $ 6.5, you get way more health and good stuff at chipotle. Please buy frozen paratha or go some where else.

Very nice Indian food but the wait time is what sucks !! This place is small so if you happen to be there on Friday or Saturday nights, the wait is inevitable. But the food kind of makes up for this. We tried the Dahi batata puri, dabeli, Pav bhaji, schezwan dosa and parathas. You have an option to choose from over 100 parathas or even make your own Paratha by choosing upto 5 ingredients. The kesar falooda and the mango lassi that we had were also not bad but definitely could have been better. Overall if you want to have good Indian food, you could surely try this place.

Frankie. Always. And sev Batata puri. And pau bhaji. And everything. This place makes me greedy for more food and I come out feeling happily stuffed. Sonu used to be a good cook here but I believe he moved on to open his own place.

The parathas are EXCELLENT. They hv a 100 varieties to choose from and you still hv the option to make ur own. The restaurant is pretty small space-wise so we prefer takeout to going there and eating. The waiting is pretty long over the weekends.

These guys have dipped to the bottom of the barrel two of us visited them and placed two different take out orders. As it wss very cold outside and not much standing room inside the restaurant we instructed the guy at the cash counter to call us when food was ready. We waited in our car outside but no call in 45 minutes still no call. We decided to check and looks like the food was ready long also but getting cold. Next comes the disaster the totally mixed up out orders, I got some sweets which I do not eat and my friend got my spicy parotta orfer that he could not touch. We do not live close by so could not exchange the order. I called the restaurant and he wasn’t even apologetic just oh is that so ok come by and we will make your parotta… they also did not give me plates spoons napkin nothing worse than an indian railway station platform parotta who fool passanger on a passing train. I will never return therr $$$$ for cold and was ordered by someone else… get out…

When I walk into Khasiyat, I am immediately taken back to my days in India when I would walk into a restaurant and enjoy authentic Indian food. Normally, my go to place in Iselin is Dimple’s Bombay Talk, but apparently this place is also owned by the same mysterious Dimple. Some of the food in both places remain the same, but what sets Khasiyat apart is wider selection of Gujurati food and of course the unlimited varieties of Parathas(wheat tortillas stuffed with anything you desire and sauted on a skillet). Atmosphere: The place is a bit cramped and it can get a little noisy. Service: Runs on Indian service. What I mean by that is that, its a yell out to whoever is near you to serve you. Now don’t get me wrong. they did cater to your needs and kept a friendly attitude, but a little bit of professionalism would’ve gone a long way in my book. Food: My mouth waters as I think about all the food we devoured. We ordered some idli sambhar, parathas, khasiyat thali(3 curries, paratha, rice), dosa sambhar, kachori chaat… nom nom nom The food is beyond description… it was so good!!! As a foodie, I can be critical with restaurant foods, but this place is just excellent. Things we didn’t order that I must try: pomegranate lassi, khaman, and pani puri; and during the summer months, I must come here to try there khata gola. I remember being a kid at a playground and eating one of those on the side street licking my fingers for every drop! One drawback is that they charge you 12% service charge and that doesn’t include TIP, which is separate. I am not sure what the difference is, but that’s a total rip off(hence the 3 stars for the review), considering we had no one specific waiter and service was unprofessional. Would’ve given a 4 star for the food, but restaurants are judged on an overall experience. Dimple, get your story together… one place has service charge and the other doesn’t, what gives? Bar none, this is my favorite restaurant on Oak Tree Road. Every time I’m back in Edison, I make sure to visit here. First, the food. You won’t get a finer selection of Indian chaat, street food, dosas, and parathas anywhere else. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu, and while I have some of my favorite dishes — the pav bhaji, chole bhatura, papdi chaat, and paani puri are always excellent choices — you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here. It can be a bit spicy, so you’re in luck if that’s something you like, but be sure to let them know to make it milder if that’s not your thing. Also, the quantities of food are very manageable, so it’s pretty common to order multiple dishes and sample a variety of items on the menu on each visit. The caveat here is that, if you’re looking for a fine dining ambiance and customer service experience, this isn’t it, nor does it try to be. The name of the game here is efficiency. It’s a plain-looking décor, with tables practically on top of each other and(on a busy day) patrons waiting for a table standing over you as you eat. The servers are very fast and prompt but will try to push you out the door if you’re not eating or ordering. In other words, it’s wonderful food with a strong hole-in-the-wall feel to it. In all, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for great food with little regard for ambiance or formality or any of those other things.
