This is indeed by far the best Indian food that I have tasted in NJ. The food was not only delicious but also well prepared. I could tell that the preparation was not out of canned food. I even asked the Manager and he told me that everything is prepared on premises… even their pickles are prepared by them. I tried their Thalee and each individual dish on the Thalee was excellent then we also had cholee bature… wow the best! The manager let me try their signature dish Methi Paneer tikki… never had that before… out of this world! What was not to like, they use proper cutlery rather than plastic foam plates and plastic knives and guess what… their bathrooms are really clean… no kidding!

Food was okay. But very evident that most of the items were frozen and reheated prior to serving. The only notable dish was Raj Kachori. Overall for what they charge you expect better service and value.

Excellent spot that my family and I happened to stumble upon. Everything well done, and the meal was capped off by a nice Madras coffee. I would highly recommend the chole bathure for your entrée and the kulfi as a dessert option.

I wanted to visit this place to see how it justifies its glorious reviews, today we were here right after it opened for the day around 11:30 am, parking in the complex was already filled with no more spaces left eventhough all the businesses just opened for the day . We were greeted by who looked like one of the owners and the same person took our orders. We ordered Masala Fries & Chilli Cheese Dosa . Let me tell you the portions are HUGE, we shared the dishes between both of us and we still couldnt eat the entire stuff we ordered. Fries had a thin batter which made them extremely Crunchy, I hate to say that the best fries I had in a while were not from an American Place but a DESI place . Chilli cheese Dosa was excellent on so many levels, be it the Onion/Cheese /chili stuffing, be it the crunchy Dosa itself, everything about it was great. I swear no one could ever have 2 meals in a day from this place, the portions are that big. Overall loved the food, loved the simple décor and loved how the owner was very friendly.

We decided to try this place as we had not been there before and we wanted something new to try in edison while we were there. We looked up the review on Unilocal which were good enough to warrant a visit and so we did. the place was quite and there was no one there as it was like mid afternoon. We order methi paneer tiki, pav bhaji and Kati roll with aloo. Paneer tiki was actually good better than what i was expecting but also it was def ready made frozen that they might get it from somewhere so def not hand made or house specialty. Pav bhaji was not as good. it was just there. A little bland and i could tell there had skimped on the butter in the bhaji and pav. Pav bhaji is not what it is if AMULBUTTER is not used and almost all Indian rest skimp on this by using the cheapest available butter from they food provider. So that was that. The kati roll with aloo was decent. The stuffing of aloo was great. Very tasty and spicy and the way lot of Indians like it. But the roll itself was again skimped up on as it was the Mexican white tortilla roll that was wraped like a burrito and handed to us. Kati rolls tend to have a whole different kind of paratha style of bread used to stuff and roll based on the stuffing you get. So that was that too. overall it was ok. nothing special. Maybe they have something that is house special but we did not get know what it was from the Unilocal reviews so we got the three things and tried it out.

This place has the best tasting Indian chaat I’ve had in the NJ area! Each dish has an authentic taste. The best part is that unlike most India snack items, their dishes are light on oil which is very important for me. Their service is also quick and personable. Today was our 2nd visit this place and we are already thinking about coming back here again!

Their food is amazingly good. We tried, idli, masala dosa, the 3t sandwich and pani poori with masala chai, mango lassi and falooda kulfi. Everything was great and we felt like we were eating in india.

Raj kachori was awesome. so was the paneer makhni(authentic north indian style).hit the spot! The sitaphal kulfi din’t taste anything like that, but the owner was kind enough to offer us a freebie for a future order. Would definitely go back to try other items on the menu FINALVERDICT: Will definitely go back for the great food and awesome service

Atmosphere — Smelled of really strong incense. No bueno. Food — Pretty good. Service — Waited 30 minutes to get our food. They did not seem busy at all. The people were nice though.

Just off India square on Oak Tree Road is a nondescript eatery completely vegetarian serving a little bit of all Indian cuisine and I was I tried on how it managed to stay and hold ground and how it had some local American clientele too. The answer was simple. Keep a few items on the menu but deliver great value and taste when you serve it. We had the TTT thali and it did not put us down at all. Most noteworthy was the sindhi style moon dal which really went well with rice and the fresh hot rotis that for served in the plate. Give this place a visit and sample some of its authentic tasting food.

I wish this place was closer to me in NYC, the best dosa’s I’ve ever had in my life. The cheese dosa is a dream come true. We ordered a bunch of things from spicy Parathas, chaats, South indian thali dishes and madras coffee. The place is well organized and the service is super friendly and attentive.

We went to this place after seeing one of the better set of reviews on Unilocal, but were supremely disappointed. We ordered a chaat and they served us the wrong chaat dish. It was ordinary. I have been to other restaurants in the area that have better chaats, such as Mithaas.(Disclaimer: I have no vested interest in promoting Mithaas, am just a regular visitor there; they have good food) We also ordered a thali, that was OK and not super amazing. The dessert served with the thali was inedible. The masala dosa was overly salted, but the coconut chutney was good. However, the worst thing we had was the rabri — it would be a disgrace to call the thing they served«rabri», as it was just moderately thick kheer and did not contain the traditional malai. It lacked the typical thick and rich creamy texture. Although the wait staff served us the wrong chaat, they were very courteous.

My goodness, what a treat! I went here not knowing what to expect. I’ve been to a couple Indian restaurants around NJ but have left many feeling either unsatisfied with the food or service. However this place not only has delicious food, but the manager was so helpful. I wasn’t too sure what to order, in fact I asked if they served chicken. However the owner informed me that it was a vegetarian restaurant only. This was actually good news for me since I’ve been looking for great vegetarian restaurants to eat at. Having no idea what to get, the owner recommended Methki Tikka. It was absolutely delicious. We then ordered vegetable biryani and the 3 T Thali. I will be posting photos maybe later today. I loved the service, the food and the price! This place will not disappoint. If you’re looking for good quality food at a price that won’t leave you feeling broke, please visit this gem. I will be coming back with my friends.

As an avid Unilocaler, I basically can assess if a restaurant is legit based on number of reviews and the rating and then reviews from Unilocal Elite members which in my mind always hold more credibility. I’m not elite because I refuse to put a picture up… but that’s my own problem and I’m fine with it. All the above said — I was shocked at this restaurant. It’s at best average — maybe 3.5 stars — but amazingly has a much better rating with 100 plus ratings. A look closer shows five star ratings from people with 1 or 2 or no previous reviews so perhaps that explains the skew. But indeed some Elite members have ranked it high. Anyway — why am I in turn going with a 2 rating? Pros: — Solid Mysore Sad Dosa — nice chili powder and overall good taste — Water was in a jug on the table — nice touch — Restaurant was clean — Affordable Cons: — Salt lassi was premade and served in a plastic cup with a straw. Taste was ok but it wasn’t fresh — Iddly was heated up in a microwave and the third one got hard — Sambar provided wasn’t enough and they typically charge for a refill however they didn’t this time — Pani Puri was very average and didn’t taste fresh — Service — waiter was attentive but hung around our table somewhat awkwardly the whole time. Also owner by the cash register was basically mute and head down in his computer. The reviews that talk about warm service and a friendly atmosphere — didn’t see this — Storefront — it looks like an electronics repair shop — it’s a terrible display really more fit for a hardware store than a restaurant — Patrons — there was literally nobody here on a Friday night — and they don’t play any music so the place was literally dead quiet — a downer I won’t go hear again but perhaps I came on the wrong day given the other high reviews. I don’t know — I just don’t see what«the talk of the town» is all about here…

Happen to be in the Edison New Jersey area where there is a large Indian population. Given this, thought I would seek out some authentic Indian eats, and this place performs. I had the Mango Smoothie(hits the spot), Paneer Methi Tiki and Chole Bhature, capped off with an indian tea w/milk, ginger, jasmine, other spices. Although i am a big meat and fish guy, i thoroughly enjoyed myself at this local vegetarian mom and pop shop. Everyone was indian so i stuck out, but that was half the fun. The owner was very gracious and guided me through the menu and each dish as if i was in a 5 star restaurant, so 5 stars for you!

Appropriately named restaurant. Came here with my parents after they couldn’t stop hearing about it from their friends. We ordered: 1. Chhole Bhature 2. Mixed Vegetable Kathi Roll 3. 3 T Thali All of the items were great. Flavorful without being oily and creamy like most Indian restaurants. The Kathi Roll was particularly tasty. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Vijay, the manager, is a cool guy.

Great food. Great service. Will definitely be back. We came here because we needed a quick bite before we headed home. We were sick of the same restaurants were used to going to in Edison. So we decided to try this place out. It seems like a mom and pop shop, they were friendly and the place was clean! Pav Bhaji: delicious. Didn’t have the heavy potato and crazy masala taste to mask everything. Instead it had real flavor and the bread was perfectly crispy. Paneer Methi tikki: I think that’s what it was. It didn’t look too appetizing in the pictures, but it fantastic. Great taste, just enough methi and crispy!!! A must order for sure! Whoever the owners are have done a great job. I’ll definitely be back!
