Small place but the food on their menu is always the best. If I would want to try Samosa Pav in NJ this is the place that makes it most authentic

Food is great. But the bloke answering the calls is a total wanker. He was rude. Couldn’t properly understand my order. And when I asked my food be made medium spicy, he snickered and said, «bhenchod dhoriya tara thi na khavaay amaru spicy»; not knowing I speak perfectly good Gujarati. I am Gujarati.

This place definately deserves a 5 start only because of the great taste they have in their food. Dry Gobi Manchurian, Cholle Bhatore and jumbo sandwich are few ‘must try’ dishes of this place. Inspite of long waiting time and small sitting area this place has been my favourite since last several years…

Long wait to get in this place, it’s always packed. We got a couple of chaats, lassis and masala chai on a rainy Saturday evening. Service wasn’t too good, we had to keep calling over the waiter to take our order. I understand it was busy, but it took him over 30 minutes to get to our table! He also screwed up our order twice, brought over the wrong food and gave us an incomplete order. Overall, not worth the hype in my opinion. The bathroom was also a MESS, given that I was pregnant and had to use the bathroom every half hour, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

It’s offer Indian style fast food option that’s very common in Mumbai or in general. Food taste authentic and fresh. However, their price runs little higher for some junk food. Overall, you should try if you are in area and looking for Indian fast food.

Tokri chaat and golden chili corn are must haves, you won’t find it this good anywhere else on oak tree road. Goes great with the chocolate milkshake or cold coffee and ice cream. Service is usually very fast.

5 stars hands down… if you take it exactly for what it is. Very casual, sometimes overcrowded, no frill, Bombay street food. The food is fantastic, spicy, and spot on. Some of my favorites were the chole, fusion bhel, and chinese pakoda. Can’t wait to go back!

This restaraunt at first sight was very bad. The ambience is not that great and when you enter it was sort of stuffed. From the outside it seems like a rich but really, it is just a small restaraunt. Then the service… Within five minutes of our order all the food had come. The actual food though was not good. A lot of people say that the chat is very good. But in reality… its just OKAY. I would suggest this restaraunt for any late nights when you cannot find anything else to eat.

This is hands down best place to eat chat in may be in entire US and I am not saying without trying other places. I travel a lot and I have tried food in Houston, Bay Area, NorthWest, Chicago area, Atlanta and Toronto and still this is the best chat place I have found till date. You cannot go wrong with chat here. My personal favorite is Tokri Chat. But I have tried Dahi Puri, Sev Puri, Samosa Chat and almost all of their chat dishes and all are quite great. Their Chole Bhature is also delicious and if you want to try something different try Dhansak– delicious Parsi dish. Their indo-chinese is decent. I did not like their South Indian food. Also understand that is Bombay-Gujju style(home style) food. It will not be as spicy as South Indian food. So my south indian friends do not expect it to be like Andhra style spicy food. I think if you will ask them to make spicy, they will just add extra chilly. The food is flavorful but not spicy. The service definitely needs some improvements and so 4 stars. I understand that sometime there are lot of people waiting outside but that does not mean every time we are waiting for food someone comes and asks if we are done!!! That’s rude.

Not a fan of their junglee jumbo sandwich which can easily feed 4 people. At first the sandwich tasted ok, but after a few bites it all becomes a bit much. Sometimes less really IS better.

Trust me. Unless you’re craving extremely healthy food(which I usually try to go for ugh), YOUCANNOTGOWRONGWITHTHISPLACE! Pau bhaji lelo. Gobi manchurian lelo. Mango lassi lelo. SABKUCHLELO! Cuz you gettin’ everything here!(Lelo = take) Came here after many years with my sister-in-law and, yup, we went ham! Although I think my mom’s pau bhaji is the best thing in the world, she claims this place’s is it. The sweet lassi here was amazing as well. You will find the occasional excess oil in some things, but at that point, you really gotta decide whether or not you’re going to REALLY sulk in amazing Bombay street food. I know this review was a mess, but honestly when you’re starving and have all these delightful options, YOUDON’T THINKSTRAIGHT. And now i’m hungry, thanks Unilocal

Be warned: long line. we’ve gone both times on weekends so not sure if it is better during a weekday but the line is literally out the door. Once inside, it has a small market feel. Nothing fancy, food is served on styrofoam plates and with plastic utensils. We followed other Unilocalers and ordered the dosa and chet and both were very good. Not very spicy but still had a kick. Apparently there is another Bombay Talk a couple of streets away — not as big as this restaurant but the waiter told me it was the same owner and same menu for those who just want take-out and don’t want to wait in line.

Rupaben who owns this place has fed me many a good Frankie and falooda since Don Bosco days in Bombay. This place has a variety of bombay snacks and now they have Chinese Indian fusion too !!! The quantity should be more for the prices charged but at least the quality is good. Go have fun and enjoy. And say hi to Rupaben if she is there.

As far as good chat goes, Bombay talk is one of the best on this side of the world. The best chat hands down in America and love the variety and unique flavors each one brings. One quirk, is there crazy rule of not serving tea to dine in customers. I assume that some customers would like to order just tea and sit around but there can be ways of working around that.

We have been to this place many times and yet keeps thinking something is missing but then again its just in thehead or maybe because i am not a big fan of homemade type tasting food The place at no matter in time is usually packed. Its speciality is chaat and then indo chinese which is decent. Chat is apparently very. good and homemade taste which is the problem We ordered a tokri chat(potatoe bowl with all tye helpings with yogurt) and khasta kachori(big fried donut size dumpling filled with lentils, spices, potaties and some other stuff with yougurt and tamarind chutney) See both were good but homemade taste means i am spending money on something i can make at home and that is why i get little disappointed. I mean i would like them to make it little more different than usual be creative and spurce it up a little Their junglee jumbo sandwich is really good and if gone in a group should be ordered. It is huge sandwich with soup sides and would be good for a laugh to eat up the challenge of finishing the whole sandwich. Overall it is a good place and should be visited if u like chat as it is decent but if you want some different tasting of an item you make at home here then maybe this is not the place.

A busy spot that seems to be an Edison staple. Lots of food choices for those who may be a bit picky. I found it to be a bit overpriced for dosas, but it may be the going rate around the area. Service is standard for an Indian spot. One quirk, they don’t serve hot tea in house on weekends(only to go), which is crazy odd. My guess, is they don’t want people sitting and chatting over tea for hours and hours as many Indians are known to do. I ordered the Mysore Plain Dosa and the other two ordered the Tokri Chat. I was a bit disappointed with my dosa because the menu makes it seem like there will be a chutney to complement it. Instead, you get the dosa with a powder sprinkled all over the inside. It was a tasty addition but rather unsatisfying. They did include sambar(a kind of soup) and offered to refill it when I finished it. That was greatly appreciated. The Tokri Chat more than met the standards for the other two guests. I would definitely try this place again and possibly update my review accordingly.

I’ve been going here for years. I randomly get cravings too Junglee sandwich and the Chinese bhel puri. That’s all you need. The sandwich is enough for 4 people so don’t think you can eat it by yourself. Man vs food should deff go here!

I looooove Indian snack foods and Dimple’s is my go to spot in this area. So much so that I bought one of my non Indian friends here to show her that there was more to Indian food than Tikka masala. The dahi puri were phenom! I love the fact that they put in sev into the puri for that extra crunch. The chatpati chaat was also good, but the dahi was a little runny than I cared for. However, the papri remained surprisingly crisp throughout the meal and I really liked the combinations of the different flavors. The chole bature, though good, was not the best I’ve had. The bature were a little limp and not as thick as I would like and the chole were just ok. The service was prompt and our food came out in minutes which is always a plus. Overall, definitely worth trying if you are okay with having a meal without meat. That’s always a challenge for me, but for Dimple’s, I make an exception!

Informal, fast food type with table service, pure veggie Indian place with authentic savory food. Place gets fairly busy on the weekend and 30 – 60 minutes is normal. No reservations over the phone either! Expat-friendly but they have a menu with pictures :) — tacky I know — but that should give you an idea that it’s a no nonsense place. Loud music can make quiet conversation a challenge. They emulate typical street-vendor food from Mumbai, India. However, of late they have improvised a lot and now offer Indo-China fusion cuisine. Claims to have been featured in NY Times and Conde Naste Travellers. Not surprised! You can fly to Mumbai to sample this — but why? A trip to Edison, NJ should suffice.
