The hungry permit was wonderful. Nothing beats good food while watching Pelicans terrorize children trying to hand feed tarpons off of the pier! Cool hang out spot

Obnoxious little hole in the wall next to a small harbor. Service was absolutely horrible. Waited over an hour for food(place was about 70% occupied). Had to go to bar for drinks three times during meal. Waiter never asked. Food came out cold, hated to complain at that point. Didn’t have another hour to wait.

Go here and feed the tarpons, but you should eat somewhere else. $ 14 for a glass of watery V8 juice(except V8 juice is good) they call a «Bloody Mary». Dinner was below average ATBEST. Service was either nonexistent or slow. There are too many other good restaurants in the area to be bothered eating here.

Great food good portions but the service needs improvements. The food here is great! Not too pricey and the portions are good sizes. Our waiter was ok at best. He gave no recommendations and basically was just there to take our order. The menu has a good variety. Overall a good experience mostly based off the food they were also able to accommodate our large party of 7 quickly as we were seated right away after our snorkeling excursion around lunch time when they were busy with a lunch rush. Also if you do an excursion with the company there on site they give you a 10% off coupon which is a good deal. Also be advised they do not allow you to separate checks but you can pay with more than one card at a time.

Took almost 2 hours to get lunch(we came at 11, and didn’t get our food until 12:20). Such a mess. Food is not really good. Avoid.

Don’t waste your time. The wait was to long for the 45 minutes and then wait for food over 1 hour. The food was less than average. This place was was a total disappointment to a great afternoon..

We stopped here on our way back from Key West. Tourist trap! We had horrible service here ordered mahi mahi sandwiches and small apps. Should not have taken an hour to get our food. Food was mediocre at best was expecting better. Our server failed to checked on us or our beverages until we flagged her down to cash out. Bloody mary was pretty to look at.

Amazing fish sandwiches and great portion sizes. We stopped on route to the Keys. It was very busy and we had an hour wait for our table for five as reservations are not available. This gave us plenty of time to wander around the stalls and feed the tarpon. The maitre’d kept us informed of the wait times and when the food arrived it was well worth the wait. As we were leaving a live band was setting up which looked like it was going to be great. A beautiful and relaxing setting for lunch

We came by on a Sunday and waited about 15 – 20 minutes for a table for 2. The place is adorable, an authentic«keys» experience sitting by the dock underneath the canopy of the trees. They had live music starting at 2pm. Their burgers are very good! The sweet potato fries were disappointing though. Tasted like fried food, no sweet potato flavor. The regular fries tasted better. Lots of drink options including a Bloody Mary that looked amazing! Overall, a great place to enjoy some good and a great view!

Cute restaurant but service was quite slow. Appetizers we liked — fried shrimp basket, chicken tenders basket and the conchamole(guac mixed with ceviche which was surprisingly good, not fishy). Entrees — blackened chicken sandwich(delicious, chicken was juicy), short rib sliders(eh, not very flavorful), swordfish special(lacked flavor but rice was good), and fried shrimp and fish tacos(yum, huge portion). Sit outside only if you don’t mind the constant wind!

I worked up an appetite from feeding the tarpons off of the dock. I ordered the white trash bloody mary, the lobster bisque and the conch ceviche. The white trash bloody mary was really fun but I think it needed a little more spice. I added some more dashes of hot sauce. But all of the accouterments are almost a meal itself. Almost. The lobster bisque was great. It had some pretty decent little chunks of lobster in it. The conch ceviche was something I truly dug. Everywhere seems to always have conch fried or in fritters. This was a nice change of pace and I really enjoyed the fresh flavors of ceviche. My fiancé ordered the Matecumbe fish sandwich, blackened. I stole a few bites and I though that sandwich had the right amount of blackening spices. It was a such a great place to relax and enjoy some food while watching the wildlife near the water.

Nothing better than sitting outside on a beautiful day, eating some delicious food. Just watch out for the birds. The conch ceviche was spicy with nice chunks of conch. The Mantecumbe sandwich had blackened Mahi Mahi that was moist and flavorful. Another added bonus was that the cheese was on both sides of the sourdough bread. As a lover of cheese, I definitely appreciated that. Lobster Bisque had plenty of chunks of lobster as well. They are not skimping you on the meat of the dish. Heads up, not a place to eat if you were in a hurry. The wait is worth it though.

We stopped here because we wanted to see the tarpons. The restaurant is right beside the pier so we stopped for a bite. We both had the mahi mahi fish sandwich with fries and sweet potato fries. First the positive side: The service was nice… the food not so much. We had so much better fish while we were on the keys. This fish didn’t taste good and e.g. the cheese on the sandwich was a slice of processed cheese. So if you want to have a decent fish sandwich stop somewhere else along the way.

It started raining profusely as we were finishing up with the tarpon feeding so we decided to seek Shelter aka a few drinks at the bar. They have a decent size cocktail list, priced @ 10 $ but no specials during the lunch hours. Hubby ordered the strawberry jalapeño magarita that he said was potent I ordered the keylime martinis. It was perfectly sweet and tart and had vanilla vodka, key lime liquor and lime juice. Not exactly sure if there was other ingredients but it was definitely tasty. I guess this may be ignorance on my party but my only concern was the rain was dripping into several places with lighting and I wondered how safe that was or if there was anything they did to waterproof. My husband laughed of course and said that he’d assume they would since they are probably used to the finicky weather down here in the keys. I would definitely recommend this place for drinks and hanging out at night!

Too many Mosquitos(they do not have enough mosquito repellent for consumers). If you guys are not in a good group, please do not come there. They sever the big group properly… I lived in Miami for more than 6 years, but I faced the most impatient waiter here. She did not even have time to take your order… If you want to face a race discrimination, please come. Overprice is normal for this place, since it is in Florida key and close to the ocean. However, the time for them to cook is too slow. If you are hungry, do not come to hungry tarpon Resturant… I walk through their kitchen by mistake, and I saw what happened. Do not want to talk about it…

Hubby said the conch fritters were freshly breaded. I had the pulled pork sliders, comes with three for $ 15, no fries. If the slaw was colder and the pork got this would have been better. It’s all outside, but they have fans and shade. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Walk over to the dock about 20 feet away and you might see nurse sharks(the one past the tarpon feeding ones.). We saw about 5 nurse sharks and one baby reef shark.

We were pretty impressed with Robbie’s. I believe Robbie’s is the name of the whole place, and the restaurant is called Hungry Tarpon. I’m going to review our snorkeling trip and the lunch we had at the restaurant. I had picked this place as where I wanted to go snorkeling as we were driving down to Ramrod Key. I was worried about what time we’d arrive, but luck was on our side as we arrived about 30 minutes before the noon snorkeling trip. You can see the marina from the highway and the place stands out. They have vendors selling cool things throughout the day(we say them take down some of the stands near sunset). Lots of people stop to feed the Tarpon and they were HUGE. Definitely worth a stop even if you don’t want to snorkel or go out on a boat… great for stretching your legs and getting off the road for a bit. There is tons of parking and across the parking lot is a big bathroom which was nice to change in after snorkeling… which made eating lunch more comfy! I picked Robbie’s to go snorkeling because I wanted to visit Alligator Reef. But the weather can always change the plans. I called the morning of to see what the conditions were like. They told me that the swells were large but that the trip should be on as long as we are strong swimmers and want to deal with the conditions. I thought we’d be fine, so we arrived and checked in. They decided to go to one reef and then take us to Indian Key which is a state park(extra $ 2 fee). The key is made out of fossilized coral. They let some of us snorkel near the shore(but warned us to avoid the urchins) or you can walk on the idea and take a tour. They were pretty much relaxed and let us decide what we wanted. The snorkeling part was great for me but my finance got sea sick. He never did before so it was surprising. I enjoyed the snorkeling though. We saw good fish and I swam to nearly the bottom and saw a big barracuda. It was pretty cool! The crew(two awesome women) were both amazing and fun to talk to. They were very friendly, cared about making sure everyone was safe, and didn’t treat us like annoying tourists. Top notch attitudes and great people! So we finished up snorkeling and went to the restaurant. They have a beautiful patio outside with lots of shade. We managed to sit at a counter facing the ocean and had a beautiful view. I ordered a burger and my fiancé had some fish. Both of us really enjoyed the food, he got potato salad that was good, and I loved the french fries. Then we had a slice of Key Lime Pie with whipped cream on it. They don’t use meringue but the key lime pie is one of the best I had on this trip and made the traditional, more popular way. Well I’m from Chicago and you can’t get REAL key lime pie there, but I did my research and knew what to look for! Definitely worth a stop, and if we return, we’d stop here again for snorkeling or maybe rent a kayak!

Really nice restaurant. I experience quick and effortless service. We ordered the Ahi tuna tacos and the grilled fish basket of Mahi lightly blackened. If you dine at the restaurant you only pay for the bucket of fish since your entrance to the Tarpon feeding is covered. The food tasted very fresh. Me personally I would have loved a little more Tuna on the tacos, regardless it was beautifully seared. This restaurant is very rustic, it has cool wooden chairs made with springs. As the evening is coming to an end they have blocks of woods and fire pits in random areas for visitors to enjoy. The restaurant is cradled by different kiosks of artisan crafts, a kayak shack, a bait and tackle shop and even a filleting station. If you catch something and are proud of it, they are more than happy to cook it for you. In the past I have also tried their lobster bisque which is amazing in comparison to my past experiences. The bisque is thick and delivers a lot of chunks of lobster meat. It has a really nice rich taste and any lobster lover will go nuts for this soup. Everything is very fresh, and Robbie’s has it all in one, its really good to just spend the entire day here. It has something for everyone. Charters are readily available for snorkel, diving and fishing trips. Anyone will find something to do here that caters specifically for them.

Great view, good service, excellent entertainment. Overprice and unimpressive menu. «Wrecking» is live and well in the Keys. People in the know will stop for the tourist points for family and friends who haven’t been here but move on after the beer. Speaking of beer — one local brew in a bottle — Sandbar Sunday, an American wheat ale that taste close to a Pilsner. Refreshing.
