This hotel is trendy and has its appeal however the services and upkeep are inadequate. My room had significant mold under a closet shelf, floors were filthy and house keeping was mediocre. The fitness room is under construction but they still charge $ 28.00 per day resort fee for essentially nothing(maybe that covers the wi-fi?). Also the pool is small and cold. On site restaurant is really good. Would not recommend, especially for a family.

This is a super cute tiki bar outside of the amara cay hotel. It’s in a beautiful setting over looking the water. They have a decent menu that was moderately to high priced. I ordered the mudslide for 13 $ 16 oz. Heavy pour. They also have Tvs and fans, and it looks like local residents come to sit and chat it up after work. My main complaint, was our bar tender was a bit aloof, and not very friendly, he did not make any conversation and often left the bar to go inside for long periods of time. After we asked for our check, I was charged 14 $ instead of 13 $, now a dollar is not a big deal, but the fact that it was listed as 13 on the menu, kinda bothered me that it rung up a dollar more. Then he said he’d fix it, left the bar to go inside, but still after 15 min or so no one came to fix it. So they he just said, well just put 27 $ instead of 28 $, which I thought was a little embarrassing because I did not want other patrons to think we were nickel and diming, so I wish he’d just recalculate it but it in himself rather than saying that outloud. Besides that the weather is not permitting this weekend, I don’t think I’ll be coming back there, especially with the wonderful knowledgable sweet bartender right indoors at Oltemare. Gets a 3 for ambience and view in mind.
