Doris The Florist

Doris was great, the flowers were absolutely gorgeous for my wedding. She really tried to adjust for our budget and was able to provide a sample of how the centerpieces and tables would look. She even suggested the color scheme for the table cloths, being familiar with the catering hall. I thought there would be more rose petals surrounding the center pieces on the tables but it was fine. My biggest gripe would be that flowers are so so expensive, but Doris’ prices are very competitive anyway, what can you do. I also wished that the chuppah that she had created had been more intricate — it did not seem very decorated, very plain, just some cloth. Her company was able to accommodate last minute changes which I really appreciated. None of the flowers looked dried out and they were very vibrant.

Doris did beyond amazing for our wedding day! When we first walked into the room I couldn’t believe how absolutely stunning the centerpieces were, I even started to tear up over them! All of our personals (bouquets, boutineers and corsages) were phenomenal and held up perfectly throughout the very long day. Doris really captured our theme and helped transform our venue into a warm, inviting and richly colorful fall wonderland! Thank you so so much! I truly believe, from my many consultations, that no one would have been able to match the beauty you created!

I recently used Doris the florist for my daughters wedding at bridge view yacht club the arrangements were delivered and set up, when I walked into the ball room I was soo impressed and floored by their stunning work, our guests were in awed I would highly recommend this florist !!
(They made us beautiful samples before we chose them as our florist and I have to the flowers were even more beautiful on the wedding day !! Just Amazing !)

The flowers were delivered on time but did not resemble the picture on the website. The bouquet we received had no roses and did not seem to be worth anywhere near the sixty plus dollars that I spent. I will not be using Doris the Florist again.

They corrected a problem with a previous order by sending a new gorgeous arrangement. I appreciate their handling of this.

April 12^th, 2014 my wife I got married at The Inn in New Hyde Park, NY and with over 230 planning attending, we needed centerpieces that would captivate and fill a reception room built to fit 400 people, ++
My wife and I knew we had our work cut out for us, and this where Doris really assisted /​shined and did a wonderful job…
*She created numerous centerpieces months prior to the wedding
with all different price points to fit our budget
*All our emails to her were never unanswered
*Last minute changes, she completed and followed through
*Easy face-​to-​face appointments
The day of the wedding, The Inn and I agreed that Doris would need to begin designing at 12pm, while the wedding was a 8:30pm start.
Unfortunately, the main reception room was not ready till 3pm and Doris really had strive and hustle to get all completed by 7:30 which was the time for which my wife and I took pictures in the main reception room. She literally lost 3 hours of preparation and had to create all of the following in less than 4 hours…

I honestly love working with people who own the company for which you choose. It’s true, you have so much better leverage and say anything goes wrong, owners DO realize that it is their reputation in your hands. Now I did meet with 2 other florist companies, I will say that, and I did spend a lot of money on my florist. But honestly, I could have hired any florists in New York. That is how serious I wanted my flower designer to be… Clearly, she knocked it out of the park. Again, Doris is there to accompany any budget your desire. Face to face… anytime…and you know why, cause she is the owner who cares about her 25 plus years in the business. That is why I chose her!!! Did I drive here crazy, just a little bit :)…
I will happily provide pictures to those who would like to see wedding bouquets, wedding reception centerpieces… or any designer pieces Doris did…
