I regret going back to this buffet. We stopped coming about a year or 2 ago. The food selection has not changed much. The prices have gone up. They take forever to replenish the food, specially the seafood; the shrimp, the crab legs and the sushi. Not worth the money. Will not be going back.

It is what it is… The food is ok, the staff is ok and the seating is cramped. The only issue I have is that they are REAL slow at refilling the crab legs and other expensive type of food. Take out is much better from a variety of places.(Quality) If you’re looking at stuffing your face, this place will do.

This place is ok. They have ok tasting food. The staff are a but rude. The cleanliness is not that great but to be expected from a Chinese food buffet. Their prices are really good though… Cheap. So if you are not that picky then it’s a good place for you!

I hate this place, the people that bring up the good from the sick are slobs and just slam the food in the buffet, the staff and waitress don’t even speak English meanwhile where in America– if you want our money don’t act like a cult and show some customer service. nothing but low quality people and only came here for a friends birthday and ended up picking at my food

First off, don’t listen to the haters, they have no life and they need to get one. I’ve been to this place twice and my friends and I love it; in fact, it is our new hang out to eat spot. It has a very nice and calm atmosphere, the staff is friendly and nice and we all got fortune cookies that were right on the spot, remember, there’s no such thing as a coincidence! It’s a great place and I recommend to anyone, don’t forget, haters gonna hate and they need to hit the road, if you don’t have anything nice to say, get lost!

Take that’s star away– Omg this place was so gross that I had to take a day to even write the review in fear of thinking about my experience last night, reviewing and hurling. Gross food Nasty staff(our«waitress» actually refused to reach her arm all the way out to take a plate away and literally did the«gimme» hand motion with the fingers to palm motion”). So gross. Dirty. Rude.

Terrible now! Such a shame this place used to be pretty decent. Now it’s just nasty. Not clean inside like it used to be. The food is awful, tough meat, cold rice, no flavor to anything. Most dishes on the buffet were left with very little food, and hardly replaced. Sorry to say these things but this review is just for advice to avoid this place!

I used to go to this place but now the Food is cold. A waitress named Jerry was very rude to my table. He had an attitude when he had to refill our drinks. Never coming back here again. Our table when we first got here was dirty so when we asked for another table they refused and gave us an attitude. Do not come here!

The food is alright, nothing to compliment on. The place is starting to look run down/dirty. I wouldn’t make a date to come back here. They could improve on the food selection, not many beef choices but a lot of seafood(which wasn’t good).

Love this place. When you’re in the mood for variety this is the place. My favorite is chicken and broccoli with white rice. Their fried chicken is pretty top notch compared to franchise stuff. Popeyes taste chemically after a while.

The restaurant is now called«Islandia Buffet.» They have the same phone number as «New Grand Buffet.» In any event, we went there last night and really pigged out. I wouldn’t call it a great meal, but it was OK and certainly a good deal for $ 14.95. To give you a rundown, the California Roll was good. The steamed dumplings were tasty but a bit chewy as was the chicken on a skewer. The Lo Mein was lousy, the egg rolls were decent as was the beef and broccoli. The spare ribs were very tender but the barbecue sauce was right out of a can. The Chinese pork belly was a standout. After three plate fulls, I didn’t have room for dessert. I like buffets because you get to try new items and there’s always something good to be discovered. Our experience at this one was OK.

I gave this four star. Near my workplace. Today was my day. I was in good mood and hungry. So ate here during my lunch time. Nice food and service. Price was $ 8.99 for lunch. Rommy but a little dingy. The waitress kept looking at you while you were eating. Felt not very comfortable. They had eating time limit. After one and a half hour, server will give you the check that means you gotta leave.

I ate here often, maybe three times a week because it is across from my job and I like the gentleman at front desk. he’s very nice However won’t be going back, I had take out chicken and broccoli by time I got around to other side to get other entries a man was pointing out a Roach crawling in the chicken and broccoli. I left my plate right there and have not been back

I was in the mood for Chinese food, so I took my mom here for dinner. This place looks pretty run — down. In the section that we were seated the wallpaper had stains, and the booth was rusty and place was… kinda… just gross! I think it’s time for a renovation, the management team should have started that like yesterday. The food itself was okay nothing special to brag about. For two people our bill came to $ 35 pretty standard for buffet style. The staff was nice. However, on my way out I overheard another customer complaining that their waiter kept hovering over them, and they felt rushed the whole time. In my experience the staff was good, the food was okay. Maybe if this place got new furniture and if the whole place was renovated then I could see this business booming! The food didn’t seem too appealing after I saw the stains on the wall and the dirty was pretty dead for a Friday night too. When I pulled in the parking lot I thought they went out of business lol because it was dark. That was the red flag right there I just didn’t know it yet. I wouldn’t recommend this buffet.

I’m giving this place 4 stars for what it is. A better buffet than most at a very fair price($ 8.99 for lunch and $ 4.99 for kids under 10). I guarantee you’ll find better chinese food elsewhere but this offers a little more variety than many other buffets. They also have a flat top grill area where you can pick your own ingredients from a nice choice of meats and veggies. You then have a chef throw it on the grill for a fresh, somewhat healthy meal. They add whatever amount of spices and oil you prefer. There are a few sushi roll and sashimi selections to choose from and if you can handle dessert, there are plenty of fresh fruits, cookies, assorted cakes and puddings to choose from.

Ugh… at least the servers are friendly and attentive. The food on the buffet is fairly fresh, but is not even mediocre in flavor. Not that one would go to a buffet expecting health food, but here everything was heavily oiled and/or fried and the vegetable selection is pretty limited. Also, the sushi looked like it would have made me sick, so I steered clear of it. I love buffets, but I will not be returning to this one.

Ok… I’ve been this buffet about 10 times in the past 18 months so I think I could give a fair review based on averages. I usually go about 3pm each visit. Its mediocre at best. The restaurant is dirty and the bathrooms are absolutely filthy. OMG… there is so much salt/sodium in the food that I’m thirsty for 2 days after eating there. The grill is your best bet because at least you know what you are putting in your meal. The egg rolls are stale and soft, and most items have been sitting out for too long making the food cold and stale. The BBQ ribs are laden in Kraft BBQ sauce to hide the poor quality meat. It seems all the items are disguised in rich sugary/salty sauces. In the 10 times I’ve been there, the server never once refilled my drink of ice water. As I pay my bill at the cashier, the manager asks if everything was ok… when I comment he just laughs(???).

Pretty decent selection, I really liked their hot and sour soup. The food however was very average, nothing stood out. The restaurant just didn’t seem clean for some reason.

When I first got there, I thought, «Why don’t I come here all the time?» By the end of the meal, I knew why. The food is better than I expected from a buffet, and there was plenty to choose from. I went on a weekend evening when they had crab legs available. The food wasn’t the problem, and neither was the service, which was pretty good. It wasn’t clean at all. At first it looked just outdated, but it’s easy to see that it’s not clean. Good: Donuts, chicken & broccoli, really fresh vegetables and green beans Questionable: Sushi, pineapple chicken, General Tso’s chicken

New Grand buffet is a typical long island Chinese buffet restaurant. Offering up a mix of dishes, most of which I noticed are chicken based. What sets them apart is the Mongolian BBQ& stir-fry station where you can choose each item you want cooked. It’s a pretty good spot for a business. Oh, excuse me. they just put out more«Chinese donuts».
