Just visiting a friend but damn the workers at the gate have the worst attitudes! Not helpful and rude! A shame for such a nice vacation place.

An unexpected trip to Charleston and the weather said 82 and sunny in October! I wanted to stay on the beach! My husband and I frequent Charleston but usually opt for a VRBO or a hotel downtown. I am so torn between a three and a four for this review. It would probably be a 3.8. The room was four stars all the way — spacious, modern, clean with a full size kitchen, living area, nice sized bedroom, and a huge bathroom with a soaking tub. All of this with a beautiful balcony and a view of the ocean — perfect for watching the sunset. The faults of this resort lie in the staff and mostly the unpleasant experience I had at the spa. Most of the staff I interacted with seemed uninterested in what their jobs. There was an overall lack of attention to detail. One example being after checking in, I was given a key card and lugged my carry on to the room. To get to the room, there was a key-controlled door to the building, my key did not work. I walked back to the lobby and they gave me a new card. I walked back to my building and was able to enter the main door. When I got to my room, my key card did not work. I had to lug my stuff back down to the lobby(and this is no small resort) to let them know my key didn’t work. I really don’t mind walking, but after a day of travel, I was ready to put that bag down. There was hardly an apology from the front desk staff and lots of excuses. I got over my frustration once I was out on my balcony with a glass of bubbly staring at the ocean. The worst part of my stay at Wild Dunes was the spa. The spa has their own Unilocal page, so I’ll share the details of my most unpleasant experience on that page. All I can say is, «avoid the spa.» Overall, I would definitely stay at Wild Dunes again. For the deal we got on Hotel Tonight and the size and quality of the room, it was well worth it. However, I will never patronize the spa again.

We stayed here a few times and just love it. The beach is beautiful and uncrowded here. There are all kinds of accomodations, rooms to houses for rent. The recreational facilities are very good, golf, tennis, pools, bike rentals, youth activities, etc. The close proximity to Charleston allows you to spend time there as well as the facility. We love Isle of Palms and always look forward to visiting.

I have been very happy with the condos and villas that we have rented at Wild Dunes. Luckliy for us, each time we have visited, the accomodations have been very nice & clean and well appointed. I love the layout of the community and all of the amentities that you have at your disposal. Whether you are into golf, hanging out by the pool, or beach bumming it for your vacay, this place has it all. Historic Charleston is an easy drive from here too if you are looking for serious shopping, super low country cuisine and historical tours.

We’ve stayed at Wild Dunes twice — the first time was in a creepalicious beach front condo with bunkbeds jammed into the master suite and décor straight from a 70’s motel fire sale. For reasons we can’t explain, we went back. The second time we stayed in the Village, a few sparkly new buildings a few minutes walk from the beach. The room was pristine, the décor was impeccable, and potentially the best part was the street level shops. The Lettered Olive restaurant, the spa, the gym, and even a little market. My only complaint(besides some of the other patrons) was that with the buildings being so new — so too were most of the staff. I’ll write another review about my spa and shopping experiences but all in all I found it a great value, and wonderful beach and a fantastic escape.

Stayed here for honeymoon. It was great! Large room, balcony, room service, beautiful atmosphere and we could walk to the beach! You can lie by the pool and sip drinks, swim in the ocean, grab a bite at the deli, play tennis or rent bikes. Just be aware that there are lots of families that rent places, so the place will be packed with kids in high summer. We got lucky and went in April so the place was not busy at all. We don’t have kids so I was glad we went when we did. I’d like to go back when we do have a family!
