This is now a buffet only dining option in Wild Dunes. Very convenient for a quick dinner, especially for families with lots of kids. The food is, well, buffet style. It’s ok but not stellar. There is an average amount of options. Certainly not an extravagant buffet. Extremely convenient though. No need to worry about your kids running amok, either. Not a place I would expect peace and quiet. Not a place for dinner with the wife. Convenient. Average buffet style food.

Now a buffet style restaurant. Which is much improved from the menu they offered last summer. Still somewhat pricey, about $ 30 person. However buffet had large salad bar, fruit/cheese bar, several protein options including prime rib and a kids menu. Each night is a theme ie. Southern, chop house, seafood etc. Convenient casual choice for Wild Dunes.

We didn’t get food. The bartender seemed distracted but the drinks were good.

Just had an enjoyable night here! I understand that the management has changed and we were pleased to meet the new chef. The service at the bar was a little slow but after we made our way to our table we were delighted with the staff. I had the ribs while my husband had the seafood pasta. Everything was great and the live music was a plus. Things change people… and this restaurant was a fun and delicious night out!

Stayed at Wild Dunes and didn’t check Unilocal before choosing a dining location(my mistake!). After starting our vacation on a sour note due to a problem with our room we made a 9 pm reservation at the Lettered Olive. My wife ordered a salad and I joked about it when it arrived because it looked like a «kids» sized salad. We had our dinner which was fine and as we were eating my wife pointed out that there would be a 25% reduction in our bill because we dined after nine. The bill arrived and was full price. I checked the time on the bill and noticed that our waiter listed it as being 8:59 when we placed our order. Are you kidding!!! He didn’t even get the 10% discount that we were entitled to for staying at the resort. When I pointed it out while checking out the next day, the receptionist stated that she didn’t know how to make the adjustment. You can count us as one time visitors.

Staying at wild dunes and decided to eat there. The shrimp and grits was terrible and the rest of the food was just so-so. The best part of the meal was the s’more we had at the fire pit outside.

Ok, I see this place gets horrible reviews, and all I ordered was a hamburger with a side salad, but it was great! Our server was friendly, helpful and all-around great. My burger was delicious. My friends wAs a bit under-cooked, but they fixed that so it was all good. We sat outside and enjoyed the live music and kids playing. A pleasant evening and really good food.

We are staying in Wild Dunes, and decided to order to-go from here on our last night. Big mistake. I ordered the shrimp cocktail(I don’t know how you can mess that up). There were six shrimp for $ 15 – which would have been okay if it was good. It could have been from a grocery store shrimp ring and smelled so bad I ended up throwing most of it away. My sister ordered the shrimp Caesar salad, and besides being crazy overpriced, it looked like it came from a vending machine. Along with some soup that had fuzz floating in it, she ended up taking her dinner back and got a refund. At least they were nice about that. We ended up going down the road to eat…

Take out for flounder fish $ 33. Plain boring burger $ 15 and plain Jane Caesar $ 12. Below average with above average pricing. Don’t waste your calories.

Last night at the beach, wanted to stay close to the condo on Wild Dunes so we could take in the view. Most of the negative reviews I saw tended to be around the service, but we were getting food to go, so no worries. wrong. $ 90 down the drain. I think i was the only one who could stomach any of the calamari. the crab cakes were just weird and tasted like they had shake n’ bake on them. the flounder was ok, but not worth what you pay. none of us even bothered to finish our meals. just chucked it in the trash. would have been tolerable at a third of the price — maybe.

Ho-ly-crap. The food was sooo bad. It was our last night on the island so we decided to get some food close by since we just wanted to have a laid back, relaxed evening. From the description of the food on the menu and the price, we felt we were in for a great last meal. My gosh, from the stomach cramps I felt, it may have well been my last meal. We ordered the crab cakes, the crab stuffed flounder, and the calamari. It not only looked unappetizing, it smelled really, REALLY bad. No one finished their meal and I had to quickly throw the fetid, uneaten food out for fear I would barf in front of everyone. Oh my gosh, I’m about to puke now writing a review about it. Gag!!!

Zero STARS. Went in there 10 minutes ago at 7:30PM. Restaurant was 25% full. Hostess asked if we had reservations. We said no. She said it would be at least 30 minutes. We walked out, looked around, seeing it was almost completely empty and went back in and pointed that out to the hostess. She got an attitude and said she was ‘standing her ground’ and we’d have to wait to be seated because there was an 8 top coming. Again, the restaurant was 25% full. She turned away multiple people after us as well. How you turn away that much business is beyond me. I have never been treated in such a way in my entire life. Terrible way to do business. Do not give them your business. They don’t deserve it.

Food was ok. Avoid the oysters and desserts. Took 30 minutes for waiter to realize we were seated, and service didn’t improve from there. Not worth the upscale cost! A family of five seated next to us left after they had waited over an hour for their food. Cheesecake tasted like cornstarch and crumbled apart. Beer and wine selection was mediocre. No local brews were available that night. Chairs weren’t comfortable. If management expects you to sit the for almost 2 hours for 2 courses, invest in some comfier furniture!

We had a very nice meal, and the staff was very kid friendly. It was not busy, and we were there with a six, four, and two-year-old. Food and drinks went well, I thought the wine list was very well priced especially with a lot of value in the $ 30 – 40 range. We all thought the food was very good. Not GREAT but very good.

Extremely understaffed. The waiter did not appear at our table for 20 minutes after we were seated. The restaurant was less than half full. We ordered an appetizer that was never served. Imagine every bad hotel or conference meal you have ever had and you will have the proper reference for this overpriced below average restaurant. If you stay in Wild Dunes travel off property for a good meal or eat at the Deli.

A nice restaurant in the middle of the resort with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The hostess promptly greeted us and seated us on the patio. The menu was thoughtful of the season and integrated seasonal dishes. I ordered a pasta dish and it was overcooked. The server did not hesitate to exchange my dish for something else. My next option was one of their salads; can’t over cook that! Overall, the dining experience was good. The service was very good and the manager even came to our table to make sure everything was corrected. While some of the prices are inflated, it’s not killer and I didn’t feel taken advantage of. Plus, it’s part of the resort and you don’t have to travel anywhere for a nice meal.

Enjoyed the red snapper, very interesting Indian-themed preparation. Service was fast, good and great accommodating children.

After waiting 20 minutes at the bar(bartender was great but liquor selection was limited) in an empty restaurant we were seated at a table for four. We were two. Twenty minutes later we got water and they cleared the extra silver. She had offered drinks earlier which was a plus. Wine list is very limited and is bit goofy. Best Chardonnay was Kendall. The food was mediocre.

Apparently this is a seasonal restaurant at Wild Dunes which just reopened for the season(3 days agp). Normally, you would not be surprised by failure in this circumstance. Our surprise was how great things were. I would recommend the lobster po’boy and my friend’s loved the Chef”s flat bread.

Let me be clear: I am a fan of the bartenders at TLO, I am not a fan of any of the host staff I encountered. I’m even less of a fan of the pretty, but bumbling boys who cleared our table when we stepped away for a moment. You’d think the room key, camera and half eaten plates would have been a clue we hadn’t gone far. The portions for the price are about what you’d expect from a resort restaurant, but the food was delicious enough that you didn’t feel robbed. I recommend either the black and blue salad(omg steak and blue cheese? How can you go wrong?) or the grilled triple decker turkey sandwich(ask them to hold a piece of the bread or you’ll never get your gaping hole around it). I do not recommend the crab dip — which was more like shrimp dip. For someone who abhors shrimp this was an unpleasant surprise. Go there in the evening, give my best to Matt or — crap I can’t remember her name — soft spoken woman with a frosted bob and two adorable daughters she’ll tell you all about. They alone are worth the visit.
