Went for Father’s day and had a great time. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server was polite, professional and sweet to the kids. We were constantly being checked on to make sure all was OK which we liked very much. We were seated right away and was never rushed to leave. Left happy and full.

I came here tonight because my wife wanted to try this place for the longest time. The ambiance of the place is nice but the service was terrible. The food was average and bland. You should not have to put steak sauce on an expensive steak to make it taste good. Disappointing at best!

If it’s a cold winter night, reserve a table in the lounge! The fire warm you right up; best atmosphere! Intimate and romantic. Tellers is fine dining right in the middle of Islip and one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

I was looking to do something very nice for a special night for my wife and I and Teller seemed to hit the mark, reservation was made 2 weeks ahead of time and requested a quiet or off to the side location, reservation was confirmed and again table request was assured. Get to the place on time and was seated promptly, and against requests squeezed between two other tables with about 10 inches of separation between the two adjacent tables, I asked if this was our table and was told this is all they have at the moment… Okay. Waitress comes by about 5 – 7 minutes later, pleasant and attentive no problems there, drink and apps placed. Calamari was a big let down, salty and greasy. Duck fat fries, Ehhh tasted like basic fries. So we go on to order our main course, at this point we choose to split 140oz rib eye, cooked Med/Rare, and some sides to split. Steak and sides arrived about 20 or so minutes later and server places 2 slices on my wifes place and 2 on mine, and whizzes away now here’s the issue, one(1) of the 8 or so slices of steak was actually med/rare the rest was MEDIUMTOWELLDONE. That is not our liking and requested it med/rare, waitress comes by after about 10 – 12 minutes and asks if all is okay, at this point being hungry and annoyed and not wanting to wait we each ate 2 of the least cooked pieces and went about it. I explained to our waitress the dilemma and she said she’d send the manager over, 10 more minutes he appears, now 25 minutes into our meal and explains that the steak will be more well done in some parts and that if we would have said something sooner they would’ve corrected it…(I brought it to someones attention asap mind you) Ummmmmm… .Okay it was brought to their attention asap and I was given a 50 dollar gift card to come again, but still had to pay for an overcooked 80 dollar steak. Why would I come back if you can’t make something right?

First I’ll admit that you don’t often find me at high priced restaurants. Not a comfortable environment for me — probably because I don’t like paying so much for a steak that I could prepare better myself at home. Sides are ridiculously priced — anyone who tells you that duck fat fries taste significantly different from fries you get at the corner bar isn’t being honest. Staff is simply too big for its breeches — bartender acted as if he didn’t want my business and server at the table wasn’t the most welcoming either. Seriously, I can’t figure out the hype…

I loved this place the first couple times I went, but the last two have ruined it for me. I decided to go on Valentine’s Day which was probably bad thinking on my part, and it was an absolutely terrible. Our reservation was at 8 pm, and we finally sat at 850. We were brought to our table at 845, however it wasn’t set yet, and we had to stand there for 5 minutes waiting for them to set it. The hostess was very rude when we asked politely for an estimate on how much longer we’d be waiting(we asked around 820 pm), and the response was«there should be about 3 tables ahead of you, I don’t know». My girlfriend asked for her steak cooked medium-rare, and it was, and she enjoyed it. I asked for my steak cooked Medium, and it was practically raw, the center was completely bloody. My girlfriend’s steak was cooked more. I asked for the Manager and he did the right thing by comping the whole bill. I did appreciate that, it was just sad that I couldn’t even eat my dinner. I tipped the waiter as he was fine, and we left. I had to put a $ 50 fee on my credit card to hold a table, and the place was still way over-booked That was that, however the Owner graciously gave me two $ 50 dollar gift cards to come back and give them another shot. We decided to do that, and the situation was not any better. We were sat pretty promptly which was nice(we went on a Wed night). However, after we were sat the waiter didn’t come over for at least 5 minutes. He got our drinks, but then he was M.I.A again for awhile while we waited to order our dinner. Once we finally ordered, it took FOREVER to get our steaks. I was able to finally catch him to ask about the steaks and he said«they should be coming out shortly». I thought he forgot about them, because after he said that it still took 20 minutes. So they finally come out and guess what– my steak that I asked to be cooked«MEDIUM» was practically raw again. It also wasn’t even hot or warm so it must have been sitting out awhile. I didn’t even bother saying anything until we left cause they obviously can’t get their cooking temps down right. I just ate my duck fat fries and bread. He also never asked if we wanted another drink, so we were just like whatever we don’t need one. At the end I gave him the two $ 50 gift cards and he told me I was only allowed to use one LOL. That’s when I told him the steak was raw and the service was terrible, so he went back to speak with a Manager, and he came back out and said it was fine. The Manager didn’t even come out to apologize or acknowledge anything. I hate to complain at restaurants and rarely ever do, it’s just that the last two outings at Teller’s were a joke and I will NEVER give them a shot again.

This is def one of the top notch restaurants on Long Island, especially Suffolk county area. I’ve been coming here for years now, excellent dining experience each time. Great for any major event or if you’re really trying to wow that special someone :) especially since it was an old bank way back when(hence the name), it has that classic, unique feel to it. The filet mignon in this place is usually my go to however, my seafood kick took over… Eats: Scallops appetizer Tuna Branzino Side– roasted Brussels sprouts Let me tell you that each plate was better than the next if not the same… The scallops were probably the best I’ve ever had and I think if you’re looking for a nice light fare to start your dining experience, choose this. They were light but meaty and juicy and the mushrooms that came with them were to die for! Tuna was prepared with avocado and jalapeños for some nice heat. Also a good choice for all of you healthy eaters! And the Branzino was fab… I prob would have enjoyed it more with out the skin however, it was crispy and actually nice… I’m just used to having my Branzino with oil and lemon(hold the skin, head, and tail… Always) Roasted Brussels were a perfect pairing with our lighter dishes, we left not feeling overly stuffed but comfortably full and not bursting at the seems and unbuttoning my pants hahahhahah Strawberry margaritas :) yum yum The bar area was pretty jumping too…

Went for my birthday. Excellent atmosphere. Terrific service. The food was great. If you are not a steak lover you may like this place but it wouldn’t be my first choice. We had the seafood wontons a an appetizer. Really good. Main course filet and lobster tail. Amazing and well done. Sides of potatoes and spinach very good, although spinach a little watery. Would have had 5 stars but for one sad note. I am an avid scotch drinker. The scotch I had was clearly watered down and that is not ok. I thought it was the ice so I ordered the second with ice on the side and same result. Maybe wine was a better choice.

Nice décor and good service but the porterhouse for two just wasn’t as good as other steak houses that I have tried. Truth be told, I went to Tellers a while ago and am only getting around to reviewing it now so I don’t have all the details. What I do recall is that our medium steak was a little too charred for my liking and the sides/apps were good but forgettable. Don’t get me wrong, I probably ate everything… but I just wasn’t that impressed. I left that restaurant feeling full but a little disappointed based on the rave reviews that I had heard. That feeling has stayed with me.

Nicely decorated and lit. Clever transformation of the bank vault to a wine cellar. Service was great. We ordered the scallops as an appetizer and it was well cooked and seasoned. I ordered the fillet mignon and my husband order the NY strip along with a lobster tail and Brussels sprouts. My dish was a bit over cooked but still very soft. Brussel sprouts were good, just needed a bit more salt. Our waiter, Willy, learned it was my husbands birthday and offered a dessert«on the house». We declined the offer but he soon returned with a small bowl of ice cream and a plate decorated in chocolate with the inscription: Happy Birthday along with a candle. Willy spared us the embarrassment of a happy birthday song and we thanked him for it. He also gave my husband a gift card from the restaurant which helped to make this evening very special.

This is one of my favorite places in Suffolk county. Great food, NY strip was cooked to perfection, pork was delicious. Brisket was so very tender. Wine list is amazing. Service is top notch. I can’t find one negative thing to say about my latest experience here. It wasn’t the first time and won’t be the last time.

Best steakhouse ever. Came here for a few occasions and fall in love more every time. I usually order the fillet with mashed potatoes and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything is cooked to perfection and the service is excellent. The restaurant used to be a bank so the ceilings are extremely high which I love. Highly recommend this restaurant of you’re looking for a special night out.

This is one of our favorite steakhouses on Long Island that we decide to visit once we learned that the Yankee Opener was postponed. This is a converted bank building with those high traditional ceilings along with a bar that is cozy and set aside from the dining room. Their steaks are excellent and their wine list is very good. Nothing like a great steak with a good bottle of wine!

Would give it no stars if I could. Have been there a few times before during the week. First time going on a Saturday. Had a reservation for 845. Upon arrival they said it would be a few minutes wait, no problem, I’m very easy going. This wait then turns into 45+ mins and people coming in after us got seated before us. They then try to offer us a bar table when the reservation was for the main dining room and before we got to see the table in the bar that they were trying to pawn off on us, they gave it to someone else. The host was totally rude when we tried to say something. Take your business elsewhere. There’s better food and certainly better service elsewhere.

Came here with my wife for her birthday. They gave us a $ 25 gift card for the restuarant because it was her birthday. The food and the service was first class all the way. I had the best Beef Wellington ever. My wife had a filet and both melted in your mouth. The sweet potato dish with marshmallow was so good that We couldn’t stop eating it. Highly highly recommend it. Cost money but who cares, it’s great food.

Came here for the first time for lunch The dinning area was nice with a very high ceiling. I ordered a salmon dish which had bacon in it which I told the waiter that I don’t eat meat I’m A pesco vegetarian so he said he’d have the chef make it without it, about 15 mins later my dish came and there was bacon on it so he apologized and took it back 10 mins later he comes back and I don’t see bacon but as I started eating It and started tasting bacon And there was a few pieces stuck on the bottom of my salmon. Not sure if I’d come back even though the appetizer(lobster wonton) was amazing but I could’ve gotten sick from the bacon.

Awesome food! Can’t put price tag on great food and great service. John the bartender was very attentive and his recommendations are spot on. I don’t get here often, but was pleasantly surprised he remembered my drink of choice. Perfect place for exceptional food and service.

Long Island steakhouses are usually hit or miss, but Teller’s is somewhere in between. Teller’s is situated inside an old bank so the inside is definitely visually appealing. We were seated immediately(had reservations). My husband and I decided to split somethings(except for drinks, I had a dirty martini which was perfect and he, the«Babylon Express» which was really refreshing) We shared: Shrimp and Lobster Wontons-Mostly dough and not a lot seafood inside. Presentation wasn’t that appealing either-it looked soggy and greasy. Tasted okay but nothing like what you would expect. Duck Fat Fries-Crispy and unique flavor. Also LOVED the onion ketchup it was accompanied with. Tellers Delmonico-The truffle butter and onion rings were great, however, the cut of meat was not. It had a lot of fat. That may just be that particular cut. Creamed Spinach-this was so soupy and flavorless. We couldn’t even eat it. Rarely do I sent things back, but I just had to with this. They did not charge us for it, which was nice. Hazelnut Cheesecake-the perfect combo of oreo crust and Nutella cheesecake. I’m a fan! Overall, a decent place with some good items but I’d faster go to some other Long Island steakhouses.
